Busy Bees Ayr, which is registered to welcome up to seventy-two children between two months and five years of age, makes a crucial contribution to the lives of parents and the youngest members of the local community.

The pursuit of key goals for the early years is considered essential and the experienced staff team prepares each child well for the challenges they will face in later life and education. Structured and consistent standards are maintained in all areas relating to hygiene, nutrition, health, and security but the nursery also provides a fun environment for children to flourish and enjoy.

The nursery is situated on the grounds of Ayr Hospital, just off the A77. The nursery is sign posted once you enter the grounds. The building offers 5 bright playrooms each with access to its own lovely secure garden. Due to the location, there is also access to lots of wonderful woodland trails that they use regularly for outdoor learning which the children absolutely love.

The onsite Chef freshly prepares and cooks NHS accredited meals throughout the day. The children in the 3-5 aged room regularly have access to an external teacher helping and preparing them for their transition to big school and there is onsite parking to ensure your safety when dropping your little one off.

Included in nursey fees are daily fun and a safe and secure environment, NHS accredited meals and snack, all your nappies, wipes, and sun cream during your child’s time at the Centre.

Busy Bees Nursery has been a wonderful experience for our family. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the staff truly cared about each child. They go above and beyond to create a nurturing environment, adapting to each child's unique needs. I especially appreciate the flexibility they offer, with
various session options to suit our schedule. This has been invaluable as our plans change. When my child had surgery, the staff went the extra mile, sending thoughtful gifts and checking in to offer support. The facilities are spacious, clean and designed for both learning and play, creating a safe, joyful atmosphere. Busy Bees isn't just a nursery-it's a community where children are treated with love and respect. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a place where their child will be cared for and cherished.

My daughter recently started her nursery experience. The staff are always easy going and friendly with nothing ever a bother. It's been a huge transition for my little girl moving and leaving her childminder, but she has settled well. The team have fully taken her under their wing and I am happy to
report she is thoroughly enjoying her time at Busy Bees Ayr. Can't recommend them enough.

Busy Bees Ayr has been amazing for my daughter who started when she was 11 months old. The staff are amazing with her and she is always happy to see them in the morning. They do lots of different playtime activities and she loves painting and splashing in the water pit. There is always a variety of
good meals provided. I love that I get to see photos of her playing on the app and see when she has had nappy changes, naps and what she has had to eat throughout the morning.

Busy Bees Ayr have provided childcare for my 2 children over the past 4 years. I couldn’t have hoped for a better place. Knowing my children have been so happy and well cared for in nursery has eased the guilt of being a working parent and they have had experiences and formed relationships that they
wouldn’t have had at home. Busy Bees has prepared them both so well for the next stage of their lives and I am so grateful to all the lovely staff.

What a fabulous nursery - our son attended Busy Bees Ayr for over a year and the care and attention that was given by the staff was exceptional. Our child had so much fun learning a variety of topics and loved all the food cooked by the Chef. He has gained so much confidence in his social skills and
speech and kept us informed at all times. We will miss you all terribly and thank you again for the wonderful experience.

We have used Busy Bees for both of our children for the last 6 years. We have found the nursery to be clean, bright and airy. The children are kept amused and challenged to develop daily without them realising. Outside space was really important to us and Busy Bees allows access to the garden easily
unlike many other nurseries. We have been really impressed with the nursery as a whole and believe they have been integral to the development of our children. It takes a village to raise a child, and Busy Bees has been ours.

So glad we have our daughter at Busy Bees, Ayr. The staff are fantastic with her. Always welcoming and our daughter loves going to nursery. The app is great to see our daughter's updates during the day for mealtimes and any pictures of what they are doing. We had the option of having funded hours at
a council nursery due to her turning 3 years old but we have decided that Busy Bees have been so good that our daughter will remain there. Thank you everyone at Busy Bees.

Our twin boys were part of the nursery for nearly four years. In that time we saw nothing but excellent work from all members of staff. The boys had so much fun and they progressed enormously in terms of interacting with peers and staff and learning a variety of topics. We saw them grow as young boys
and the nursery played a huge part in that.

I cannot rate this nursery highly enough! Both my children (5 and 3) adored their time here. The staff are wonderful - they know the children so well, are so warm and caring and absolutely nothing is a problem. My youngest has additional health needs and the staff went over and beyond to see to his
every need. The food is great with a wonderful variety. Handover is excellent, lots of information given (now via the app) and again, any additional questions answered. Events such as graduation, Christmas etc have so much effort put in. My little girl still sleeps with her Busy Bees teddy as she misses the nursery so much! The manager is amazing. So approachable and nothing is a problem. Cannot thank the staff enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this wonderful nursery to anyone.

Thank you so very much to all the wonderful team at Busy Bees Ayr for providing such excellent care for our two children, both of whom have been in the nursery since they were babies. They have had nothing but the best throughout. Every single member of staff knows the individual children so well and
they go out of their way to help and support. The chef in the kitchen provides delicious nutritious meals, always catering for my daughter's food intolerances. My son has now moved on to primary school having had the best nursery education we could have asked for.

We love Busy Bees! My daughter has been attending this nursery since August 2020. The care that she has experienced here is excellent. All the staff are very friendly, caring, nurturing and would do anything to help and support you. I know that when I leave her at this nursery, she is safe and being
well looked after. She has come on leaps and bounds since starting Busy Bees and I cannot thank the staff enough. She is learning so many new skills and being exposed to lots of different opportunities here and due to this, she is thriving. The food at the nursery is excellent and she enjoys all her meals. I would highly recommend Busy Bees, Ayr to anyone.

I enrolled my daughter in this nursery in August 2020 and she is still there to this day. At first, we did not know there was any issues but it soon became clear my daughter was struggling. This nursery was an amazing help in securing a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. She gets all the help
she needs here and likes attending, which is a small victory in itself. The staff provide an excellent service and are very approachable even in trying situations. As there is no nursery facilities for Autistic children, I feel comforted by the fact that the staff have went out their way to accommodate my daughter and myself. Cannot recommend enough. Kind regards.

My daughter has been attending Busy Bees for the past 10 months. I cannot fault the staff. The care providers in the Baby Room are exceptional. They are always friendly, knowledgeable, professional and genuinely caring. It is very difficult and emotional to leave your child at nursery, but I have total
confidence in the staff. My daughter has built a close rapport with the staff and I can tell, even at 16 months, she loves going to nursery. My daughter has flourished since attending Busy Bees. Her communication is fantastic and her social skills, especially with other children, are great. She's an only child which made it so important to me that she learned to interact well with other children. Busy Bees has assisted so much with that. I am very impressed with the food and the efforts the chef makes to give variety. If my daughter isn't keen on what is provided (which is very very rare!) the chef provides an alternative.

Busy Bees Ayr is a wonderful nursery - primarily because they create such a beautiful, homely environment for the children in their care. My son has attended since the age of 16 months and he has flourished in that time. Now, with less than a year until he starts school, the staff are investing much
time to prepare him for this transition, and educationally he is coming on leaps and bounds.
Every member of staff brings a unique skill set to the organisation, and all of them feel like family. The chef provides outstanding food choices, and the management team are incredibly helpful. Nothing is too great an ask.
I would recommend Busy Bees Ayr with no hesitation.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.402)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.402) out of 10 for Busy Bees Ayr is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Busy Bees Ayr is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.458 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Ayr is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 number of registered child places is 14.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.4 = 0.208
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
