Welcome to Children's Hour Nursery! It is located in the heart of Hardgate, Clydebank, providing childcare throughout the year for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

The nursery has an excellent reputation within the local community and offers a variety of flexible early years childcare options including term time and mini days.

Children’s Hour follows a collaborative and structured process for curriculum planning and delivery; using Pre Birth To Three, Curriculum for Excellence; Realising the Ambition; How Good is Early Learning and Childcare, GIRFEC, UNCRC and by sharing good practice.

Through the Curriculum, the team encourages each child to reach their own potential by providing a wide range of activities according to their needs and in the following ways:

•        Keeping and maintaining a balance between child directed and adult directed activities.
•        Creating a friendly and welcoming learning environment where children will feel engaged, challenged and motivated to learn.
•        Planning a curriculum which takes into account prior learning, cultural differences and special educational needs.
•        Working in partnership with parents to support children’s progress.

Outstanding nursery, my oldest son went from 9 months old and my youngest son is currently there now, over 7 years the standards have 10/10. The staff are a pleasure, the communication with staff on drop off and pick ups is always 100%. Nothing is ever too much when asked. The nursery space is always
used well and the kids are always out in the outdoor space. The manager runs the nursery at a very high standard and is always on hand to help she's doing a fabulous job. Would highly recommend to any parents/ guardians looking for a local nursery. My both kids over 7 years have loved it and as a parent have always been put at ease when leaving them.

My daughter has enjoyed every bit of her stay here and she comes home happy. She is a very active child and the nursery gives her enough activities to keep her busy. The staff are so wonderful and are quite flexible for working parents. If you are looking for a messy nursery that would allow your child
paint, draw, dance, listen to music, engage in outdoor activities etc then this is the right one for you.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming each and every morning. Very informative with each individual child. All 3 of my children and grandchild have attended this establishment over the years. My son has been attending nursery here for almost 4 years and has enjoyed every minute. The nursery is small which gives off a warm inviting environment. Due to it being a small nursery all the children are very close and have built good friendships & the parents of the children have also bonded through
trips and nursery events. My son has had some additional needs during his time at nursery which was been managed well from the manager, the different keyworkers he has had, along with other staff at the nursery. He will be leaving to attend school this year and will leave with lots of fun memories and friendships he has built during his time at the nursery.

My two children look forward to going to nursery as they always have plenty of fun. The continuity of staff is very good compared to other nurseries, and although they only have a relatively small garden, they make up for it by taking them out to halls, parks, libraries, on walks and to a local green
space every week. I would highly recommend the nursery to any parent, the quality of care is exceptional.

My son, who is under teams for having difficulties, attends the nursery and they have been great and brought him on in many ways as well as keeping me informed along the way of any changes to his development. Also, at the start of the year, we experienced a family emergency with my newborn and the nursery
couldn’t have been there enough to support us the whole way, not only checking on the baby and ourselves but supported and giving more one-to-one with my child who attends. It’s a fantastic nursery.

We are very proud of the progress our daughter is making on a daily basis. From a very shy person to a confident individual doing really well on socialising, great progress in writing and numbers. She always plays with her dolls and babies pretending to be one of the ladies. It's a pleasure to see her

Both my children have attended this nursery, my oldest is now at school, youngest has still got a few years at the nursery she’s only 18 months. Nursery is absolutely fantastic I have never had any issues, clean friendly environment, with caring knowledgeable staff.

Amazing nursery with the most amazing teachers. My daughter has been there since she was a baby and they have been amazing with her. I was recommended Childrens Hour Nursery by a friend and putting my daughter in there was the best decision I made. My daughter leaves in August for school and to say

Both of my children attend this nursery and have done just before they were one year old and I’ve never had any complications or complaints throughout the last 4 years. All of the members of staff are very helpful and are very confident within their role. All staff are approachable with sensitive information
and they provide great learning experiences, nurture and care for the children within their care. I’d highly recommend.

My son has been at this nursery for 4 and a half years and is now getting ready to leave for school, they have been amazing at helping his development and caring for him over the years. He has come on leaps and bounds and I couldn’t be more grateful for everything the staff have done. They are great
at keeping us updated with what he has been doing and how he is getting on and we really feel that it wasn’t just a nursery but more like a family.

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Coleen Elliott and I have been part of the Children’s Hour family for the past 12 years; it has recently been my pleasure to take on the Manager role embracing the ethos of a caring and nurturing setting were children feel happy and secure.


We pride ourselves in our strong relationships with all stakeholders and their involvement is invaluable to ensure we provide the highest level of care and learning for all children. We recognise the importance of well-being and know that positive relationships with parents and carers are at the heart of children’s well-being and development.

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Beth Anderson and I have been part of the Children’s Hour family for the past 5 years.


I am excited to lead the eco-school and forest school projects within the nursery and am passionate about helping children learn about their carbon footprint and how we can live more sustainably. As part of this children are involved in helping care for their environment as well as learning to love the outdoors with experiences such as den building, creating bug hotels and bird feeders.
