Thrive Gillsland Manor House

We are very happy with the nursery, both of our children attend it, one in the baby room and the other in the toddler room. The staff is very caring and has given attention to both of our children as they settled into the nursery. I appreciate that there is a separate nap room for the toddlers. The space is beautiful with big gardens for the children to play. An internal library as well as daily updates on different pedagogical points being addressed. The administrative staff is very accessible and responds quickly to queries.

My kids have been at Corner House Gillsland for a few years now. We love it. There is a stable core of fantastic staff who our kids really connect with. They put energy into creating great adventures, activities and learning for our kids. They are responsive and friendly when you contact them.

Overall, both me and my baby are very happy with the nursery choice.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year now. She loves going and she has really grown in confidence since attending. The staff are all really friendly and I am reassured that I am leaving her in good hands. Good communication at pick up on what she has been up to. Management has changed over this year and it has been really positive, the changes have not gone unnoticed. The outdoor space has had a refresh and looks great.

My child attends Corner House Nursery Gillsland full time in the preschool room. We are very happy with the level of care they receive. The staff are so friendly and attentive. There's a great range of activities and events going on. The outside space has recently been upgraded and is fantastic.

My son has been at Corner House Nursery for the last year and absolutely loves going! He has great relationships with the staff and children. The place has grown so much recently and I can see the management are going over and above for the children. My son is out in the garden a lot and I get consistent updates about his development which is nice to see.

My child absolutely loves coming to corner house. She has built relationships with all of the staff and she is very happy here. I've seen a lot of progress in her development since she started and she has thrived. Couldn't recommend more!

We've used Corner House Gillsland for a year now and have experienced all rooms across our 2 children who go here. We're delighted with the nursery, the staff are consistent and many have worked here for a number of years. Each room takes up a floor in the house and has its own assigned garden with lots to explore. The children are taken on trips to local parks and to explore the local areas (shops, library) as well as having activities brought to them (eg football). My children have formed strong attachments to the teachers in each room and race in each morning, we couldn't be happier.

Wonderful nursery and wonderful staff! Our daughters love it. They are nurturing and provide excellent opportunities for engaging activities with fantastic outdoor learning facilities! Would definitely recommend it.

I think Corner House Nursery Gillsland is a really good nursery. Great management. My kid is always happy to go there. She learns a lot. We get a lot of feedback on our child's development and progress.

We love Corner House Nursery Gillsland! Our little boy has been going here since he was 10-months and now he's getting ready to start school! It feels like an extended family to us and the trust is invaluable. Staff are warm, proactive, firm but fair and work really hard. The nursery tries to be flexible with extra days etc. which, as an NHS worker, is appreciated. Would highly recommend and delighted that my nephew starts there next month!

The Corner House nursery is in a lovely area with a great outdoor space. My niece loves going to nursery and always has lots of exciting stories to tell about her day. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and I have seen lots of improvements in the last few months when I have come to collect her.

Nice nursery with good outside space. Staff committed and good relationships with kids. My kids seem to enjoy going there. Sometimes feel they could be a little more proactive at drop off if the kids get upset - this was quite stressful when my two were settling in. Overall good.

My child loves going to nursery. Staff are friendly and caring and they put your child development first. I love noticing the things my child has learnt from nursery.

My only observations are that 1) the Management has been a bit disappointing, given that it was often very difficult (if not impossible) to talk to the manager (moreover, the manager changed twice since we joined, which we found a bit concerning). The Deputy Manager is a superstar though! 2) the Tigger Room cloakroom is a bit messy and pretty full.

My son has been enrolled since he was eight months old and has loved attending since. The key workers he was assigned to in Pooh Corner and Tigger Room were so personable and always on hand in the morning and/or evening for passing on important information. The regular updates via the OLJ were great to see the learning experiences he was involved in. Since moving upstairs, our son has thrived less and we feel he is a little bit lost in the larger environment. Key workers still exist but it’s a mix of adults responsible for his care and he needs to go through to the older room at certain times (due to staff breaks/working hours). His naps and lunches are mostly recorded on a wall chart, but not always. He regularly loses belongings due to the cloakroom being full and the hall area can be messy. He still loves to attend nursery and the staff are lovely and truly care about the children. We do feel, however, that the rotations of rooms and adults result in inconsistencies and this has made an impact on our child.

My daughter is at this nursery for almost 3 years now and we are very satisfied. We very much like the staff - she always had lovely and caring key workers. The management has always been responsive to our comments. In fact, we just enlisted our baby boy to join his older sister there later this year.

Delighted with the provision for our two boys. Staff are fully committed and the boys love attending. It is clear the staff care for the children and the placements have been great for their all-round development. Thank you!

I've been very happy with the nursery provisions for my child - who's been there from 12 months to now 28 months. I've rated all aspects as Excellent aside from Management - which I've only rated Good, and only because there has twice been a change in management since my son joined. This hasn't seemed to affect the service provision at all, but it was a tad unsettling - why managers aren't staying for longer (albeit I appreciate it could be for any number of reasons!). I also only rated value for money as Good, as it's at the steeper end of the price range compared to other options - but not having had experienced their facilities, it's impossible for me to know if the price = value or not. The staff, in particular, have all been great with my son - they're incredibly warm and genuinely caring. It really comes across much more than a job to them and the opportunities for outdoor and messy play are plentiful. He's developed at a great pace and looks forward to nursery every day he goes!
