Busy Bees Edinburgh Park offers a wonderful nursery environment where children are encouraged to learn, play and explore through their early years' development. Throughout the fantastic rooms, there are a wide array of resources and activities for children to explore and play with to ensure they spend each day stimulated and engaged.   

The experienced team work hard to provide the best care for every child, offering them the very best start in life. So that your child is safe and comfortable throughout their time at nursery, the caring team encourage and support mental and physical development. The dedicated teacher organises and provides a range of activities and resources in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum that will help prepare your child for the next stage in their educational journey.

There is something for every child to enjoy at Busy Bees Edinburgh Park with the extensive range of activities. The enthusiastic staff encourage children to learn through play, so whether they prefer messy play or imaginative role play, every child is sure to thrive during their time at Busy Bees.

Through the UP App, parents and families are able to continue the learning at home. The app provides great ideas and resources to further promote children's development when they leave the nursery.

We have been using Busy Bees at Edinburgh Park for a number of years, firstly for our son and now for our daughter.
Staff are friendly and helpful and despite Covid restrictions and not being allowed to go into the nursery, we are getting regular written updates and photos via the app. There’s always
lots of celebrations of events, lots of variety of activities and both my children have always been happy attending.

My son has attended the nursery for a few months now and the staff have been fantastic helping him to settle in. He now waves us off at the door happily and enjoys all of the activities the nursery provides daily. The staff are all very friendly and provide regular updates on how things are going and
what activities are done each day. Excellent nursery!

My daughter loves coming to nursery. The staff are amazing and have taken great steps in order to make the transition back to nursery after lockdown as seamless as possible. The new app is great with being able to see photos of what the kids are doing in the day, it's reassuring but also great to be
involved in their day in some tiny way. Staff are always happy and seem to genuinely love the kids like their own. A great variety of food choices and allergies are taken very seriously.

Best nursery in Edinburgh with a clean and hygienic setup and good food. They care for each child. Special care is given and they enjoy. My daughter has been part of this nursery for the last 3 years and now I have my son also going to the same nursery. Best care and lovely staff.

For me, the best feedback is my child looking forward to going to the nursery and hopping in every morning. He talks about his friends, teachers, food (mostly!). The new app works well for daily updates, too and I love when they share photos of his daily activities. Some other pluses: meals are cooked
in-house daily, the nursery is moving away from using plastic toys... I already recommended and would again.

This nursery has been great for my daughter. She has come on leaps and bounds during her time here so far and I feel happy leaving her knowing she is well looked after. The staff are all very warm and friendly, it’s in a great location and the opening hours suit my working patterns. I also love the

Have been sending my child to the nursery for the past 4 months. The staff are just fantastic. My child has made a lot of friends at the nursery. English is not this first language, he had problems with communication initially but the staff have been very patient and encouraging. I would highly recommend
the nursery to any new parents.

I am a returning parent to this nursery, my first child left this nursery 20 months ago. I have noticed that there are a few new members of staff since we last visited this nursery. Overall the team are very welcoming and I'm happy that my child is under their love and care.

My son has been at this nursery for a year now and he absolutely loves it. All the staff have been so welcoming and caring and we have seen him grow in confidence since starting. The activities that he takes part in are amazing and they offer a variety throughout. The nursery offers a welcoming environment
and he is excited to attend each day. The nursery uses an app to update us about our son's day and also if needed we can have a 1 on 1 chat with a keyworker. We feel safe with him being at this fantastic nursery.

Great team, settles your child from room to room with an easy transition. My boy has been there for almost 2 years and they are doing wonderfully in strengthening his character. Covid has been hard, but they are so supportive throughout.

I have a daughter in the nursery. She started when she was 1.5 years old. She was happy from the beginning when she started attending the nursery. We have been well informed about the progress our daughter has made. The nursery has big rooms which are clean and safe. Kids spend a lot of time in the

My son joined Busy Bees nursery in August 2020 at 13 months old, when they were reopening for the first time during a global pandemic! This meant that we were restricted with access into the building and had to hand him over at the door after they took the temperature, which was difficult but he was
obviously having (and still has) a great time while in there, as there was very minimal fuss from him about going inside without us! Back then we were provided with daily activity sheets but recently the nursery has been using the app, which is great, we enjoy our daily updates and photos of what he is up to. I'm really happy with the nursery, the food provided (3 meals) is seasonal and nutritious, the activities are all different to challenge different developmental areas and we are kept up to date via the app and other assessments. The staff are all friendly and you never feel a hindrance if calling the room to check on your child. I also love the convenience of the car park!

Busy Bees at Edinburgh Park has been a brilliant nursery for my little girl. She suffers from extreme allergies and they have gone above and beyond to help keep her safe and make us feel relaxed about her being in a nursery setting. One of the things we love as parents are having the nursery app to
get updates throughout the day to see how our daughter is doing, what she has eaten and getting a photo of her. My little girl absolutely loves going to nursery and participating in all the activities the nursery organises. The staff have been nothing short of brilliant communicating Coronavirus restrictions and any other changes and have been so supportive to my husband and I with medical forms etc that we have had to complete for my daughter. We are so glad that our daughter goes to nursery here and we recommend it to other parents.

Having my first baby in lockdown, I struggled massively to let my little girl go to anyone (even family) after 6 months of lockdown maternity leave. The staff at Busy Bees Edinburgh Park were so in tune with this! They encouraged me to phone for updates as often as I needed to, and never made me feel
stupid for doing so. They couldn't have given more support to my baby if they tried, and I cannot thank them enough for giving her lots of quiet 1on1 cuddle time away from it all when needed, singing her twinkle-twinkle, listening fully to the 20+things I had to say at drop-offs, and giving me the detailed updates at pickups. The new app is brilliant for updates throughout the day too! They are so thorough with development plans, observations, providing a varied diet. My little girl loves the staff so much she asks for them on non-nursery days! So glad I chose Busy Bees, Edinburgh Park, they really are an amazing group of people and I can see how much my little girl loves them - thank you.

Staff are amazing! Nursery is fab... service in all 100%. I have now used two of your nurseries and wouldn't go anywhere else... above and beyond. My little girl absolutely loves coming and spending the day learning with all the staff.

From a young age, I had decided that I wanted a career in the Early Years, so I began my HNC in childcare and education as soon as I left school. I have been working at a senior level in private nurseries ever since leaving college. 22 years later, I completed my PDA Level 8 and have now completed my PDA Level 9 in Management and Leadership, with 24 years of experience in childcare.


I began my Busy Bees career in 2016. I love being outdoors and enjoy giving the children in my care lots of different high-quality experiences, whether this is indoors or outdoors.


In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends as well as following my local football team with my husband and son.

Hello, my name is Sharlene Cran.


I have been working at Busy Bees Nursery at Edinburgh Park since February 2000. I started as a Nursery Assistant and have enjoyed working with all age groups over the years.


I completed an SVQ level 3 in Early Years and Education in 2006. I worked my way up to become the Room Manager of the Pre School shortly after I qualified. I enjoyed the challenge of room manager and slowly worked my way up to Assistant Manager, and was promoted to Manager in May 2014. I am qualified in paediatric first aid, first aid at work, Level 4 Leading in Child Protection and Food Hygiene.

My name is Lynn Thomson, and I have worked at Edinburgh Park since March 2012. I have an HNC in Early Education and Childcare, and I am currently working towards my SVQ 4. I have three children of my own, and now have my first grandson too. I enjoy spending time being creative and making new resources for the Nursery.
