Hello, I'm Kaylie, and I've been part of Building Blocks for 18 years. I started as a student during my CACHE Diploma Level 3 in childcare, and after college, I transitioned to full-time work here. Over the years, I've worked in all three rooms, collaborating with supervisors and nursery nurses to ensure the well-being of the children and provide engaging activities.
I achieved my Level 5 in Leadership and Management, leading to my appointment as Nursery Manager in January 2020. In this role, I oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, prioritizing the welfare of both the staff and the children. Responsibilities include maintaining updated policies, and procedures, and conducting thorough risk assessments.
My passion for working with children has always driven me, to help them learn and develop their unique personalities. At home, I am a parent of three, happily married for a decade. My life is quite busy, especially with my husband and 9-year-old involved in the drama group, and my youngest, a 7-year-old, progressing in karate from a yellow to an orange belt.
I'm Natalie Watts, 37 years old, residing in Rhondda Cynon Taff, and actively engaged in the field of childcare.
At 17, I completed my secondary education with 7 GCSEs and began my professional journey as an apprentice at Building Blocks. Over the years, I've progressed to the roles of Room Leader and Deputy Manager.
My choice to pursue a career as a Nursery Nurse stems from a passion for aiding children in their growth and development. The nurturing aspect of this profession resonates with me on a personal level.
Building strong connections during a child's early years is at the core of what I do. I genuinely believe that these bonds set the stage for positive outcomes in their learning, development, and growing independence.
Seeing those moments of growth and change is incredibly fulfilling, and I'm proud to play a part in making a positive impact as a Nursery Nurse.
On the academic front, I've successfully completed my NVQ Levels 3 and 5 in childcare, underscoring my commitment to continuous professional development.
Outside of work, I value quality time spent with my family, whether it be leisurely beach walks or exploring trampoline parks. Creating lasting memories with loved ones brings me joy.
Describing me? Think compassionate, caring, loyal, and trustworthy. And yes, I'm not afraid to get a little silly!
The kids at the nursery love it, and we always have a blast. Life's too short not to have some fun, right?
Hi, I’m Louise, and I've dedicated nearly 22 years of my career to Building Blocks Nursery. I began right after college, stepping into the role of a nursery nurse. Over the years, my journey led me to the position of room leader in the Baby room. Here, my responsibilities include crafting engaging activities that contribute to the comprehensive development of the infants under my care.
I'm fortunate to collaborate with an exceptional team that ensures a secure environment for the little ones to learn through play.
Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I seized the opportunity to enhance my skills. Completing my level 5 management course paved the way for me to step into the role of Assistant Deputy Manager. In this capacity, I closely collaborate with the management team, providing support for the day-to-day operations of the nursery.
Caring has always been a fundamental aspect of my nature. Beyond my responsibilities at the nursery, I extend my caregiving to a family member coping with health challenges at home.
Outside of work, I enjoy going on lots of outdoor adventures with my dog to improve my fitness and health. I also love spending time at my caravan in West Wales and socialising with good friends...
Hi! I’m Helen, a Rhondda Valley local bringing over two decades of experience to Building Blocks Nursery. Currently, I serve as the Supervisor of Little Discoverers, overseeing the unique developmental journey of children transitioning from baby to preschool.
My educational journey includes studies at LLwnypia College and the achievement of an NNEB qualification. As a room supervisor, I thrive on collaborating with our dedicated staff, creating an environment of mutual support and growth.
The most rewarding aspect of my role is witnessing each child's individual growth and personality development. I love listening to their stories and gaining insights into their perspectives on the world.
Outside of work, you'll find me immersed in music, enjoying a good read, and enjoying moments with family and friends.
I have been a nursery nurse here at Building Blocks for almost 30 years.
