What stands out most is the genuine connection the staff have with the children. Our son clearly trusts and enjoys being with them, and it is obvious that they know him well as an individual. The communication with parents is exceptional-regular, thoughtful, and reassuring-which gives us complete confidence that he is being well cared for throughout the day.
We are incredibly grateful for everything the team does and would wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to any family looking for a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment for their child.
Thank you for your lovely words, your son is a pleasure to have at nursery.
We honestly can't recommend this nursery enough. From our first visit when my little boy was 10 months old, the staff have always been warm and welcoming. Each room is thoughtfully set up with activities to match the children's ages and milestones. Stay & play sessions have been lovely and it's great meeting the parents of the children he plays with.
When he moved into the next room and I found out I was pregnant, his separation anxiety naturally peaked. Drop-offs were tough, but the staff always reassured me once he settled and gave detailed updates at the end of the day. Nicola and the management team have been incredibly supportive, putting helpful steps in place that have made a real difference to both him and me.
My little boy was born prematurely, but at 2.5 you'd never know - he's come on so much since joining the twos room. The Famly app updates are always lovely to read. The support and friendliness here truly stand out, and we're so grateful for everything they do.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are so grateful that you choose what a hoot for your children's journeys
Since Jesse joined What a Hoot, he has been thriving. He goes into nursery happy every day, and I have had nothing but a positive experience with all the staff.
We are so pleased that your little one is thriving with us.

The staff at the nursery are caring and approachable. They always take the time to update how my little boy has been throughout the session. The food variety is really good and I always know he will have a healthy meal. My little boy always comes out happy and has enjoyed his day.
Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased that you like the setting so much
Started in September 2025 and we only had tears the first week. She loves coming in and always has a smile to the staff at drop off and puts arms out to go. I couldn't be more happy with the nursery and staff and feel she is content and well looked after.
Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased that you like the setting so much
We are really pleased with What a Hoot nursery, they have been brilliant with our little girl, shes thriving. She approaches the staff for cuddles and is sad when she has to leave. Their communication has been great and the Famly app is really handy. They have organised parent activities and photo sessions that she can join even when it's not always her usual day. The staff are conscientious and we don't feel rushed at handovers. They always take things at our pace (e.g. weaning) and ask for our permission and feedback about next steps. We would recommend them to our friends and family.
We cannot fault anything about this nursery. They go above and beyond to make sure our daughter is getting the care she requires. Staff are very attentive and want to be involved in any appointments so they can provide further care and support us as parents. We are so happy we enrolled to this nursery.
The team at What A Hoot has been amazing with our son, they have ensured all needs are met. He struggled with a few things but they have worked beside him to ensure he learns and can do things to the best of his ability. Their patience is amazing as it can take a bit with him. Handover, no matter the day or time, they always make sure you know what's happened and any concerns or questions are always answered. Amazing team!
The level of care and compassion from the staff is phenomenal. They have all built wonderful relationships with my daughter and go above and beyond to support her, get to know her and try to make her time at nursery as fun and nurturing as possible. I cannot sing their praises high enough!
The staff are lovely and we always get a handover which is very informative. Communication is always great.
We have been at What A Hoot for two years and have two children attending the nursery. I'm so glad we found such a fantastic nursery. The staff are brilliant and clearly love their job and the kids love going. The food is varied and plentiful. Highly recommended.
For the last two years, our daughter has attended What A Hoot and our young son also now attends. They both get so much out of their time in the nursery and really look forward to going. They have both made strong connections to staff and talk about what they have been doing with their friends. They are both very happy here and I can't recommend it enough.
It has been absolutely amazing for our son's development.
The nursery itself is currently going from strength to strength and the current changes are absolutely amazing, there is so much for the children to do. Hats off to the full team and a huge thank you to all the staff. Our little boy is so confident and I'm sure it has a lot to do with his past and present key workers.
A special shout-out to the three ladies for all the amazing work they have done with our little boy.
Also, a massive shout-out to the owner/manager, the changes you are implementing are absolutely fantastic.
What A Hoot Day Nursery is such an amazing preschool. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds. I cannot fault the nursery, the staff are all fantastic. From the care to the learning, I highly recommend it. My child has loved her time here and will be missed when starting primary school.
Overall, very happy - my son has adapted very well. His speech and skills have already improved since he started. All staff are very kind and show care for him and he seems very happy at the nursery.
I am very happy with my experience with this nursery. My daughter's confidence has grown since being here and feel as though all the staff are very approachable. I am very comfortable with them and know if they have any issues they will contact me straight away.
What A Hoot really allows children to develop all the skills ready for preschool/reception in such a caring way. No faults - just an amazing team!
Little one settled in so quickly, and all the staff are lovely with him.
My son loves nursery, he has come on amazingly with help from the staff who have been great working with him to help him learn in his own way and time. Always encouraging new learning and experiences.

Meet the Team (2)
I am the Manager at What a Hoot Bedlington and have recently joined the team in July 2024.
Childcare is a huge passion of mine and I have gained over 18 years experience, working with children from the ages of 3 months to 5 years old.
I love watching each individual child gain their very own personality, independence and skills set. Being the first step in a child's educational journey is hugely rewarding, which is why I am passionate about providing the best learning opportunities for our What a Hoot children.
Hi, my name is Leanne and I am the senior nursery practitioner at What a Hoot in Bedlington. I am room based and spend most of my time in the 2 year old's room, but enjoy spending time with the babies and in preschool too!
I started my career as a level 3 teaching assistant at a primary school in Blyth, almost 13 years ago.
Since moving to What a Hoot, I instantly knew this was the job for me. The children and staff welcomed me with open arms! The children put a huge smile on my face each day and surprise me with many moments where I feel massive amounts of pride as they do something new for the first time.
