My children come to this nursery and I find that all of the teachers are amazing. My children love coming here and feel very much at home. They have learnt so much and have come along very well.

A very friendly, welcoming environment with caring staff. My two sons have thoroughly enjoyed their time here and I will miss them coming when my youngest finishes in August. The staff have ensured my children have had the best preparation for school and have loved coming every day.

My son is very happy and settled in nursery. His development has taken a noticeable leap and his key workers are fabulous. He is confident and has great opportunities to socialise and learn every day. Excellent staff and great entertainment for learning and development.

Very professional staff, welcoming and patient.
I feel that my child has learnt a lot while at nursery and has established a good routine. The food is also very healthy and I trust he's getting the best physical and emotional growth. Thanks.

My child has been attending the nursery for the past 3 1/2 years and has just turned 4. She has so much fun and really enjoys her time when at nursery. Myself and my partner feel confident and comfortable leaving our daughter in the care of the staff. We are well informed on a daily basis how our
daughter has been and what she has been up to. Can't recommend this nursery enough and really needs to be viewed.

My daughter has been attending the nursery for 2 and a half years and has always enjoyed her time and has come on so much in her time at Busy Bees.
The staff are all really friendly and keep good communication with myself and my wife and are always helpful and supportive when it comes to the big things
like potty training. A fantastic nursery with fantastic staff. Very recommended.

Suzanne Cartwright- Powton

Job Title: Centre Director Joined: 2000

My name is Suzanne Cartwright-Powton and I am the Nursery Manager for Busy Bees Nursery in Darlington.
I started working in the nursery in August 2000 as a nursery officer and in October 2005 I was promoted to Nursery Manager. I have seen the nursery grow and become an established nursery which offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the children's parents/ carers and staff.


I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1992 and in 2011 I graduated from Northumbria University with a BA (Hons) in Early Years Practice. I am also Portage trained and have Early Years Teaching Status. I enjoy studying and finding out about new research and studies that will extend my knowledge of the childcare field.


The nursery team is like a big family, many of the staff team have achieved long service awards for continued service; five-year, ten-year and fifteen-year awards. Having such dedicated staff shows that they are committed to their work and are professional caring people. I am very proud to be part of this team and thoroughly enjoy my role in the nursery, watching children grow and achieve and develop their own personalities.


We have an open-door policy so that existing parents can pop in for a chat at any time. We welcome visits for prospective parents and children, no appointment is necessary, just come along and find out about all the exciting things we do.
