Clever Clogs Day Nursery in Bowburn, Durham is an Oftsed rated outstanding (April 2023) nursery in the North East of England.

Situated just off junction 61 of the A1 near Durham Services, the nursery offers 94 nursery childcare places for 0-5-year-olds and out of school places, including before and after-school and holiday club care, for children of school age up to the age of 11.

I have found since my son and daughter started there, they have came on in leaps and bounds. Both really enjoy going and staff are always very friendly and helpful. Can't give them enough praise for how they care for my children.

Both of my daughters have attended this nursery, and I couldn't be happier with the care and support they've received. My youngest is still there, and she absolutely loves it! The staff in her room are incredible - they know her so well and always go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and
engaged.
The entire team is amazing, and management is always approachable, listening to any concerns or questions with genuine care. It's so reassuring to know my child is in such a nurturing and supportive environment. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough!

Brilliant facilities and staff. We get regular updates every day about activities they've done. Communication is always really quick and helpful either in person or through the app. The weekly menu is great.

Our boys went to nursery at Clever Clogs and now they go to Fun club after school. We trust one staff member in particular and the team completely and that they have the boys best interests at heart. Our youngest son has his challenges and they have shown him nothing but patience and kindness.

Our daughter loves attending the nursery and always has a fun filled day whilst there. I believe her development and interpersonal skills have benefited tremendously from attending. Our daughter has allergies which need to be taken into consideration and this hasnt ever been an issue and always recwive
a great varied diet (often eating items she wouldnt at home!). Staff are always very friendly and have a real connection with our daughter, which when choosing a nursery is ultimately what matters most, that those caring for your child truly care.

My son has started at Clever Clogs Bowburn today (18th March) and he had his settling in days the week prior. I have visited the nursery numerous of times now and I have been nothing but impressed. From the second I walked in, I found the nursery to be welcoming and have a good understanding to my questions
no matter how silly they might of sounded. My son is in Tiny Miracles and the nursery practitioners who are based in the room have been amazing, they have comforted my son to ensure he settles in. I have no concerns for his wellbeing here. The updates and photos throughout the day via the app helps me knowing he is okay, what time he had a nappy change, what time he had a nap etc. I find it reassuring how access to the nursery is face identification and if someone else was to collect him it is a password that I make up. So far Clever Clogs has been nothing but outstanding and I look forward to seeing how my son's development comes on throughout his time here.

The nursery has supported my daughter since she was one years old, she is now almost four. The staff are amazing and provide impeccable care for the children. My daughter has been identified with specialist needs over the years, and the nursery have been a key part in supporting her and our family with
this. They have put excellent care in place to ensure her needs are met, we have multiple meetings a year to assess her progress and SEND plans. I feel at ease when taking my daughter to nursery knowing she is looked after, and her needs are being met. We are forever grateful as a family for all of the staff and managers at Clever Cloggs Bowburn for everything they have done and do on a daily basis for our child, and many others. The facilities are fabulous, great food choices, excellent play areas for the children, and an app which keeps us updated throughout the day of how our daughter is getting on. We receive lovely photos updating us also which is a wonderful touch.

Both of my children have attended Clever Clogs nursery and I highly recommend the nursery. My children are 4 and 2 and have both attended since they were 9 months old. They have both thrived at the nursery, staff are accommodating and always there to listen to any concerns. Management have an open door
policy and are happy to talk and resolve any issues as quickly as possible. You are always met with a smile from all the friendly staff. My girls run into nursery excited for the day. I highly recommend Clever Clogs for the amazing staff and care that's given to my children.

My little girl has been attending Clever Clogs since September 2022 and honestly we would not go to any other nursery. In all her time here we have never had any problems, she loves going to nursery and whenever we pick her up she always has the biggest smile on her face! The ladies that work here are
amazing always so helpful and kind, nothing is ever too much. As a parent knowing your child is safe and happy whilst you are not with them is something you cannot put a price on and this is definitely how we feel about Clever Clogs!

Both my children attend Clever Clogs nursery. The staff have been amazing in all the rooms they have been in right from the baby room up to pre school. My children are thriving and have shown so much progression over the years.
It is easy to communicate with the nursery using the family app and they
reply straight away.
It is apparent that the staff love working with the children and take time to really get to know them. Both my children skip into nursery and it's lovely to see and reassuring for me.

Our little girl has been attending CC since she was 9 months old. The staff are so welcoming, understanding and helpful. She has progressed so much in her time so far here and forged strong attachments with members of staff. I love to see her pictures online and on the app of all the fun and activities
they get up to. They helped us so much on her weaning journey too as they offer a wide range of healthy nutritious foods. Thankyou CC!

The nursery is truly amazing. My daughter started in September and absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and friendly, full of smiles and obvious they care about what they do. The communication between the nursery and parents are amazing and they don't hesitate to contact when necessary. My daughter
has grown more confidence walking recently but still getting to grips with it so has fallen as all children do at some point and they always made sure to call to give us an update as well as putting it on the app but they never want you to worry so take that extra time to make sure you know. They have stay and plays where parents can bring and see their children in the setting. Truly a lovely experience. They provide meals that my daughter enjoys. I cannot get her to eat some foods for the life of me but she seems to thoroughly enjoy them. Overall amazing experience and she has come on leaps and bounds since starting. Cannot thank the staff enough for their hard work.

Both my sons have attended Clever Clogs. The team put considerable work into structuring an enriching environment for the children. Our youngest still attends and engages in an array of educational activities on a daily basis, helping to develop his cognitive, social, gross and fine motor skills.

I couldn't rate Clever Cloggs highly enough. My son has been attending since he was 4 months old and throughout every stage, the staff have been fantastic. I was extremely worried sending him in from such a young age but I had nothing to worry about! He is now 2 and a half and thriving. The girls have
been extremely caring throughout every room and have always been there to help with any concerns I have too. I'm kept updated frequently through the app and they undertake a wide variety of activities which he loves. I'd recommend Clever Cloggs to anyone looking for a nursery in the area.

My daughter has been at Clever Cloggs since she was 11 months old. The nursery have been excellent and extremely supportive of helping her settle and feel happy and safe there. The staff are so caring and personal and really take the time to get to know the children. My child now enjoys nursery and
comes home wanting to "play nurseries"! I credit the nursery to how well her speech and learning has developed over this last 18 months, she's come on in leaps and bounds! I would highly recommend Clever Cloggs to anybody and I will be very sad when my child leaves this summer. Thank you!

"I gained my NNEB in 1994, and following that, I worked as a Nanny in a private home. I then went on to work in a Nursery when I relocated to the North East, progressing from practitioner, to room lead and then Deputy Manager. I gained my Foundation Degree in Education and Care in 2008. In 2023 I came to Clever Clogs as Deputy Manager and in June 2024 started to work as the Manager. I love to watch children learn and explore their environment. I particularly enjoy working with children in the outdoors and learning about mini-beasts and team building.


In my spare time, I spend with my family walking our dog.

I gained a qualification in Early Years and Education in 2015. I joined the Clever Clogs team in 2022 and became a senior in the Little Explorers room before becoming the Deputy Manager in 2024. I enjoy watching the children develop and get involved in activities especially all things messy.

I'm the senior in the Little Explorer's room. I have a wealth of knowledge with over 22 years of experience.
I have a BTEC National Diploma in Early Year, I am still as passionate about working with children as my first day.


In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the Yorkshire Dales with my husband, daughter and my parson Russell Terrier".

I have my qualification in Early years which I gained in 2013. I came to Clever Clogs in 2016 where I am now working in Clever Thinkers and the senior in our Fun Club. I am passionate about SEN and qualified as SENCO in 2020. I enjoy watching the children in my care grow and develop and like to provide exciting opportunities for them to explore.


In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family.
