St Agnes Day Nursery offers care and early learning for children from the age of three years, although occasionally some children start from two and a half years old, when there is availability.
Some 30-hour funded sessions are offered subject to availability.   The nursery provides morning and afternoon sessions, as well as wraparound care, with a breakfast and after school club running during term time. There is also a holiday club to help children maintain their routine during the school holidays.

Children at St Agnes Day Nursery are supported to learn through play in a secure and fun environment where they can develop in confidence and individuality. Each child is assigned a key person who works closely with their key children to monitor their progress and support them throughout their time at the nursery. A higher than statutory ratio of staff to children is usual practice, with about one practitioner for every six children. Practitioners are all qualified to at least Level 3, and there are two qualified teachers on-site at most times.

As well as following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), St Agnes Day Nursery promotes the British values of democracy, mutual respect and tolerance, the rule of law and individual liberty.

Funding & Fees

Nursery sessions are £6 per hour plus charges for meals. Government-Funded sessions are also available with additional charges for meals, snacks, wipes and resources.
Out of school club sessions vary according to the times attended. For school-aged children, breakfast club is £7.50 from 7.30 am, or £6 from 8am. After school club starts at £9 per session. Please contact the nursery for details. Holiday club is £25 per day from 9am to 3pm.

We couldn't be happier with son's nursery. From the moment he started, it was clear how caring, attentive and genuinely invested the staff are in every child. The team creates a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to learn, explore and grow at their own place. The
communication is excellent- we are kept informed about progress, daily activities and milestones. Our son is happy and confident and enjoys going to nursery. We're very grateful for the positive impact the staff have had on our child and would highly recommend this nursery.

An absolutely fantastic nursery with excellent facilities. My daughter loves her nursery days and speaks highly of all staff. The nursery has such a lovely, intimate feel to it, unlike lots of others. I couldn't rate it highly enough and the staff.

St Anges day nursery is a fabulous nursery! My little girl has been going since she was 2 and a half years old. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, they are great with our little one! Our little one loves the nursery and loves play time especially dancing and active time as well as playing
in the garden and play area! Highly recommend!

We couldn't be happier with St Agnes Day Nursery.
Our child has come on enormously since starting. He can now write his name, which we're so proud of, and he's much better at articulating his emotions. The way they use the 'zones' - blue zone for feeling sad, green zone for feeling happy - has been
incredibly helpful. It's meant we can talk things through in a much more constructive way.
Every Thursday they visit the primary school and take part in 'Special Friends', where they're buddied with a Year 5 pupil. He absolutely loves going to "big school", and it's really helped him become familiar with a school setting ahead of starting in September.
There's a bit more structure to the day as they prepare for school, but balanced with the care and cuddles that they still need at this age.
It's also great that they run a holiday club, breakfast and after school club which offers that extra flexibility when needed.
We highly recommend St Agnes Day Nursery.
Reply from Joanne Jeavens, Nursery Manager at St Agnes Day NurseryThank you so much for such a thoughtful review. Its been a real joy watching your little one grow in confidence and independence during their time with us. Seeing him proudly write his name and express his feelings more clearly has been just as special for our team as it has been for you at home.

We love creating opportunities like our Special Friends visits, and its wonderful to hear how much he enjoys his time at the primary school. Moments like those really do help children feel excited and ready for that next big step.

Were also glad that the wraparound care has given you that extra bit of flexibility when youve needed it. Supporting families as a whole is something we truly value.

Thank you again for your kind words and trust. It means a great deal to all of us at St Agnes.

St Agnes Day Nursery has been incredible with my son, he struggled with the transition at the beginning, as he hadn't been to nursery before, so Joanne (the manager) eased him in really well. By the second week he was so excited to go everyday!
My son has autism so there are a few little hurdles we
have had to overcome and his key worker Danielle has been wonderful/crucial in helping us achieve these things.
All of the staff have such kind natures and genuinely care about each individual child. Joanne and Danielle keep me informed with my son's progress regularly and always take time out of their day to do this when needed.
I will always be so grateful to this nursery and the staff for how much they have brought my son on.
100% recommend, thank you St Agnes!

My daughter goes regularly to holiday club in the school holidays throughout the year and has done since the start of her schooling. The staff are both friendly and professional and my daughter regularly comes home with lovely tales of her experiences during her stay there.
I find the club very accommodating
and feel able to talk to them about any issues that may arise both in club or out of club that may affect my daughters stay there.
I would highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of sending their child there.

The staff are genuinely amazing and always go above and beyond for the children. There's such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and it's clear that the children are at

St Agnes Day Nursery is incredible. The level of care provided by all of the staff is wonderful, it gives you so much peace of mind knowing that the children are getting such a high level of care.
The facilities are excellent, with lots of different zones for the children to keep entertained with a
wide variety of activities. The outdoor space is brilliant and as with the indoor space has plenty to keep the children entertained and active.
The staff maintain really good relationships with parents, keeping them in the loop with updates on anything going on with the nursery as well as sharing frequent observations so you get an insight into what your child is getting up to at nursery which is always really appreciated. Couldn't praise the staff enough, they really are incredible.

All three of my children have attended this nursery over a span of seven years and I honestly can't recommend it highly enough. The staff are professional, compassionate and genuinely dedicated to the children. They create a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged
to thrive.
The manager deserves special mention for the genuine care and reassurance she showed to my youngest child, particularly after an accident. It meant a great deal to us as parents and really reflected the supportive culture of the nursery.
This nursery gave all of my children the very best start in life. We feel very fortunate to have had such a positive experience there as a family and I would highly recommend it to any parent looking for exceptional childcare.

Both of our (very different) children really thrived at St Agnes Nursery. The staff are amazing and really care for the development and wellbeing of each child. The time invested in planning activities and events for the children really shines through and I was genuinely sad when the nursery days came

I can’t speak highly enough of St Agnes Day Nursery! We were worried that my daughter (who usually finds it difficult to detach from her father and I) would struggle to settle. Thanks to the calm, patient and nurturing staff, it took her no time at all to feel safe and secure in her new environment.
She now skips into nursery every day, and we’ve noticed her confidence outside of nursery blossom too.
I love receiving regular observations of what she has been up to. As an experienced early years teacher, I can see that the exciting activities and daily learning opportunities that are provided, ensure she is getting a broad balance of all 7-areas of the EYFS curriculum. She is rapidly picking up new vocabulary and is absolutely thriving. I couldn’t have wished for a better start to my child’s education.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.903)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.903) out of 10 for St Agnes Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.953 for St Agnes Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (205 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 215 Ratings = 4.953
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Agnes Day Nursery is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 number of registered child places is 5.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

With the help of my amazing team, we have created a warm, playful space where little ones explore the world through hands-on fun, build lasting friendships and discover their unique talents.

We nurture social and emotional growth, fostering kindness and confidence, so they blossom into happy, lifelong learners.

Individually, we bring different talents and strengths, but when we come together, that’s when the magic happens!
