Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Haxby

The setting is very lucky to have such a wonderful chef catering for all allergies and food preferences providing the children with the most amazing home-cooked food! What an amazing asset knowing your children are eating organic, home-cooked food when you can’t do this for them!

I would highly recommend LGR to anyone who is looking for a nursery.

Being a working mum certainly presents some challenges but worrying about the safety and well-being of my son when he’s at nursery is not one of them. All of the staff are excellent (shout out to the amazing member of staff in wiggly worms who is my son's key person). They seem to have very little staff turnover and they are just truly brilliant. Caring, nurturing, educational, everything you could hope for and this goes for each and everyone who works there. They really get to know your child and your family and the communication has always been brilliant. I honestly cannot fault this nursery except from it does seem to be one of the pricier ones. That being said I really believe it’s worth it. My son is my second child to attend here and I would highly recommend LGR Haxby to anyone.

My little girl went through Little Green Rascals from the baby room right up until going to school. I just can't recommend them enough. From 9 months old to 4 years the level of care she received was second to none. I always felt confident that she was in great hands and that all her needs were met. She was also a vegetarian so food and nutrition is very important to me and one of the main reasons we picked LGR. They ensured she always had the same looking food as her friends and never felt left out. I loved the app they used to communicate everything and the newsletters were fantastic. I always felt the team was very approachable and helpful when I needed help with extra/different days. I was sad to see her leave and recommend them to everyone I know! Thank you Haxby!

My little one has been a ‘wiggly worm’ at Little Green Rascals for the last 8 months and it’s been wonderful. His day's full of fun and educational activities. He gets outside every day rain or shine and has a wide range of activities to keep him stimulated and engaged. He loves the staff and happily runs in and reaches out to them at the door without fail. They know him well and can cater to his personality and mood depending on the day. I wouldn’t have him anywhere else. It’s lovely having the open days and getting to chat to all the staff, see the facilities up close and try the food.

Both our daughter and son have attended this nursery. It is very well run, and the communication around the kids and events is excellent. Both kids have loved it, with the staff being very attentive. Would definitely recommend it.

Having been a parent of children there for the last five years in total, I can also vouch for the quality of the food and care provided to the children by the staff.

My son is very happy here. Everything you should care about, food, love, education and a variety of activities is brill. His language has really improved since attending. Much better than his previous nursery.

My child loves going to nursery and always has the best time there!

Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery is an outstanding nursery that really takes care of our little one. The practitioners are kind, friendly and helpful and our son is so comfortable with all of them. The food they provide is excellent and their use of the app to keep us updated on how his day is going is very useful too. Highly recommended!

Little Green Rascals Haxby have been so lovely with our little boy. He can be very timid and is late talking, but they are great at making sure he is included in activities and gets lots of cuddles and reassurance when he needs them. You can tell the bond he's formed with them by how he reacts when he sees the staff there. They do lots of great activities, spend lots of time outdoors, and they always make time if I need to tell them or ask them about something. I'd recommend them to anyone.

The only thing we are finding a challenge is finding an extra slot to use the extra days we have accrued from bank holidays. Being busy, as most parents are, it’s difficult to remember to keep requesting the extra time for it then to continually be declined. Perhaps a waiting list system would work better so that you only had to submit your request once.

The staff are fantastic with my daughter. She had very bad social anxiety going in, and have been so patient and kind and loving with her. She loves going to nursery now. She has come on lead and bounds with her development, and we feel that she is in a safe environment

I love sending my child to Little Green Rascals Haxby, he has the best time and receives the best care, the staff, facilities and activities they do with the children are amazing. The only downside is the price, and inflexibility regarding holidays/charging for days where the facility is closed for training/Xmas eve, both of which this year have fallen on days my child attends, meaning not only do I have to pay for a service that is not supplied but I have to find alternative childcare.

Love the staff, my child absolutely loves his key worker. Beautiful space for fun and great activities, outside space is brilliant my son practically swims in the sandpit which the staff don’t mind at all luckily.

I really rate the staff and think that the nursery overall is great. However, I do feel that the Haxby branch is overpriced given that they do not offer the forest school that I know the other nurseries in the area have.

My little boy is a cheeky hen at Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery - Haxby, having joined about 5 months ago. The team have been brilliant at getting him settled in and he absolutely loves his new nursery.

They use Famly app, which is a great tool to give peace of mind when at work, but also fab for getting updates, messaging the team directly etc. My son always comes home having had such a lovely (and messy!) day. The food is varied and provides healthy meals and snacks and he tries so many new things which he wouldn’t try at home!

The team are absolutely fantastic - not only his key worker, but every other member of staff in his room (and throughout the rest of the nursery) makes such a huge effort with him. The nursery has recently been refurbished, and it’s such a lovely environment for them. It’s really well thought out and makes great use of the space available.

Overall, we couldn’t rate the nursery more highly, it’s absolutely fantastic, and we are so pleased we made the decision to send our son there.

My son has been going to this nursery for four years and, for him, it is a home away from home. He feels safe, loved, comfortable and happy there thanks to the fantastic staff who look after him with such care, attention and affection. He has hugely benefitted developmentally and is clearly well prepared for primary school now. He loves playing with all his friends at nursery and often tells me all about their adventures when I collect him. I always look forward to hearing about what wonderful activities or themes have been organised by the staff and think it is excellent that photo updates are often sent to parents so that we can enjoy seeing them have fun. I also appreciate the well-balanced meals that he has always had at nursery. The staff are very approachable, considerate and enthusiastic and show great discretion and professionalism. They are more than happy to meet to answer any questions or discuss any of my son’s particular requirements.

My little boy is a Wiggly Worm at Little Green Rascals Haxby. The staff are amazing! They are all very kind, caring and friendly and I am more than confident that my son is getting the best care! Throughout the day, I am kept updated with pictures and updates of my son through the Famly App which is fantastic! The recent renovations that have taken place are amazing and the nursery is absolutely beautiful with the best toys and activities available! Thank you for all your hard work!

The team at Haxby are lovely and my cheeky hen I’m sure would gladly go home with his key worker because he loves her so much (so much so she has to sneak out sometimes!) Children are nothing but honest and this just goes to show the hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed!
