Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Flaxton

Excellent nursery with a focus on creative and outdoor play. We have had a really good experience here with all our children and would highly recommend.

After a bad experience at a previous nursery, he is worried about being left on his own but now he doesn’t want to leave this nursery! A big thank you to everyone involved.

Staff are attentive, caring, friendly and approachable. The facilities are fantastic with amazing decorations and rooms. Outside space is amazing and beautiful. The family app is a game changer. We were already huge advocates for this nursery but recently when our family fell on hard times, the support and care given by management and staff has been breathtaking.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone at Flaxton, “Little Green Rascals” for the outstanding work they do.

My husband and I looked at other nurseries but no other nursery came close to this nursery. I would highly recommend Little Green Rascals Flaxton to everyone.

The food and variety is fantastic - quite envious!. The exceptional manager is so welcoming, adores every single child and strives to ensure their individual needs are met. All the staff we have had contact with are so, so lovely. We are very lucky that she has a place at Flaxton, we wouldn’t want her to go anywhere else. Thank you.

Wouldn’t send my child anywhere else, a fantastic nursery would highly recommend. The staff are so lovely and caring and it’s such a lovely environment. The nursery itself is structured out like a forest and the food is fantastic that they put out for the children. Also, the manager who works there is amazing.

Our daughter was born extremely premature and fought for her life in a neonatal unit before coming home with us. Making the decision to go back to work was really difficult because we weren’t sure we would be able to find a nursery we trusted to care for her, especially when she is vulnerable in the winter time and prone to hospital admissions. Little Green Rascals are absolutely amazing! The nursery staff are so loving, caring and professional. Our daughter is so happy there 3 days a week and we have total confidence in the manager to hire really credible staff. Our key carers have been wonderful and one especially made the transition back to being a working mum more manageable knowing our little one was in safe hands.

I cannot praise Little Green Rascals Flaxton highly enough. We considered and tried a few different day nurseries and settings, but with such excellent, dedicated staff, lovely design and magical surroundings, a high standard of cleanliness and amazing food, the only thing that I am disappointed with is that I am not of preschool age to go to sessions myself. We have every confidence in this nursery, the fully hands-on management team and the birth-to-two room (Wiggly Worms) that our child is in; that he will not only be well cared for by his brilliant key person and fantastic staff but offered an experience that he does not get at home and enjoys! Thank you to everyone there for welcoming us.

On a more sombre note, we will be forever thankful for the way they handled my son’s febrile seizure last year. His key worker knew exactly what was happening, treated him correctly and had the ambulance there immediately. Too much to say about this outstanding place. Thank you.

My son has been at Little Green Rascals, Flaxton, for just over a year since we moved from London. He is absolutely thriving and I credit much of his development, language and social skills to being here. He has recently moved into pre-school and the transition has been incredibly smooth.

He absolutely loves the time he spends here. He has loads of friends, gets on really well with all staff (and not just his keyworker), and he particularly likes the amount of time spent outdoors. The activities offered are fantastic, from yoga to music and sports, and my son really looks forward to them.

Nutrition and developing good food habits is important to me and not only does my son enjoy his meals but I can see everything that he eats on the easy-to-use app, along with other notifications.

I know that I can talk to the staff and management about anything and it is clear to see that they enjoy having my son there as much as he enjoys being there.

Our daughter is our first child so we weren’t sure what to expect but the nursery staff encouraged lots of settling in visits before we started and answered all our questions. Getting to know her key worker was really helpful, she gave us a little box full of information about her as a person to take away. This helped humanise the process, and I was reassured in knowing what sort of a person would be spending so much time with my daughter. Unfortunately, I broke my hip in June. My husband and I have no family in the area, so it’s been a challenging time. The nursery has gone above and beyond in helping. They have been flexible with my daughter's days which has meant my husband has been able to return to work. They have offered support through dropping her off/picking her up, and offered to help out when doing so if I needed it. This has meant I have been able to recover properly and allow my hip to heal. We can’t thank the nursery enough for all their support and would definitely recommend.

My 2 children have been coming to Little Green Rascals Flaxton for 2 months. They adore their key workers and have settled in really well. Our children spend a significant amount of their day outside, enjoying the rural setting. There are so many fantastic activities each week for my children to engage with and the nursery looks fab! As parents, we have an app which the staff update throughout the day, letting us know what our children have been up to, along with other information, such as food, nappies and sleep times! Very happy indeed and would highly recommend this nursery to any parent who wants their child to enjoy nature and plenty of fresh air.

We love this nursery. My daughter has spent the summer holidays at Littel Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery, Flaxton on a break from her usual nursery which is term time only and a pre-school to her prep school which she has just started this September. She settled in very well and loved spending her summer there. The nursery is a very friendly and nurturing environment which has been designed to be comfortable and interesting for children with lots of different areas to play in. Key workers are friendly and approachable. The outside spaces are fantastic and my daughter loved playing out during the summer. She always came home dirty which I take to mean she has had a good day playing.

The admin staff are very friendly and are readily available, never rushing, happy to talk as long as is needed. There is also a fantastic app which they use to send messages, reminders, invoices, has a calendar and also your child’s profile which contains the learning journey and menu of the day etc. You can also message back. Very easy to use.

Our daughter has attended Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery, Flaxton for 6 months. She settled in extremely well and has close bonds with all the staff. She is always excited to go and is not phased when we leave her. The rooms are all a clean and have an inviting environment. The outside space is perfect for children who love to play and explore outdoors. There is an app available which allows you to track what your child is up to during their day. What and how much they've eaten, nappy changes and sleep. The app also allows you to keep in touch with staff and to keep up to date with news and events. This is really handy to have on your phone while you're at work to put your mind at ease. A variety of fresh meals are provided which my little girl takes full advantage of! Overall a fantastic nursery with brilliant staff!

My child has attended Flaxton Little Green Rascals for 9 months now, in this time she has made some great progress with her development specifically her confidence and social skills. I feel safe in the knowledge that she is well cared for and that she is engaged in activities rather than left to roam the room. She has regular early years Foundation stage reviews which are posted on their fantastic app. I know what has my daughter has eaten and how much, when she has had her nappy changed, and receive notifications when she goes down for a nap and when she wakes again. I do not have any experience with other little green rascals sites but highly recommend the team at Flaxton!!

It's so lovely to see my two grandchildren thriving and happy at nursery. My grandson has learnt to share readily with other children and is always excited to go to nursery. The staff are warm and friendly and the rooms are bright, colourful and inviting. I wish there had been such a great facility available when my own children were young.

A fantastic nursery whose staff go above and beyond to look after and engage all the children. The organic ethos of the company radiates, creating a warm, caring and enriched environment. Exceptional forest school space which is likely to be unparalleled in York. From my own experience, this nursery is a ‘home from home’ and my little boy mostly doesn’t want to come home when I pick him up, he is having far too much fun!

The staff are all fantastic - kind and approachable, the forest school and both outdoor and indoor facilities are fabulous, as is the food, communication and feedback on development etc. The use of the family app is really reassuring as you can see what has been happening each day e.g. what they have eaten and it is lovely to get photos of them having so much fun. You will not be disappointed if you enrol your child to come here!

Moving your child from a nursey you’re incredibly happy with to a new nursey because of moving house is a difficult thing. I have to say all the team at Flaxton have made the transition incredibly easy and although our child was slightly reluctant at the start by the time all the induction sessions were complete she was fine. She seems very happy with key workers, her new surroundings and enjoying making new friends.
