Such a friendly,family

Keep it up guys. You're all amazing. Thank you xx

Our daughter finishes her journey at Helen Howes Nursery today, and we just want to say the biggest thank you to all of the wonderful girls there for making her time so truly special.
From the very first day, she has been welcomed with warmth, kindness, and genuine care, and it has meant the world
to us as parents to see her grow and thrive in such a nurturing environment.
A special mention to five members of staff in particular for always going above and beyond - whether it's offering extra cuddles when she needed them, encouraging her through new milestones, or filling each day with fun, creativity, and laughter. The love and dedication you show the children doesn't go unnoticed, and we feel so grateful for everything you've done.
We honestly can't recommend Helen Howes Nursery enough. Knowing that our daughter has been surrounded by such a supportive, caring, and inspiring team has given us so much peace of mind, and we couldn't have asked for a better start to her early years.

Both of our children have attended preschool room, started as very shy but settled in well with help of staff. All staff have always been very professional with an individual approach to each child to help them settle in. They both loved their time at nursery, loved all creative activities, forest school,
yoga, and learning, they have grown into confident children ready to start school. Staff are very friendly and always find time to chat to parents to discuss their needs and progress, same with management they address any query promptly.
Cannot recommend them highly enough !

My children have both attended Helen Howes from one years of age and my eldest is leaving next week to start school in September.
I cannot recommend the nursery enough, the girls who work there could never possibly be equaled! The love and care they have truly felt towards both of my babies has been
amazing. To feel that your child is happy and loved when you're back at work and they aren't with you is so important and as a first time mum I was petrefied to leave my babies with women who were essentially strangers but those strangers quickly became our village and both my children absolutely love nursery.

Me and my son have had such a lovely experience with this nursery. From the day he first started at just under 1 years old to turning 4, the staff have been so kind, welcoming, and loving. It's clear to see that they genuinely care about the children. I have always felt so reassured leaving them in
the hands of the ladies at Helen Howes. It is exactly what you would want for your child and more! I would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you so much x

Lovely family-run nursery, that cares for individual children's needs and listens to parents views and opinions. Both my children have attended Helen Howes, my eldest now goes to school but my 15-month-old baby attends currently and both had an absolutely outstanding early education experience. The
nursery practitioners go above and beyond to ensure positive outcomes and the children's mental well-being is at the heart of everything they do.

My son has been attending Helen Howes now for 7 months, and it honestly feels like much longer! The staff have such a strong relationship with him, I feel as though I am sending him to family for the day because the staff go above and beyond to make sure all his needs are met. I myself also feel like
part of the family there when I chat to the staff as they are very friendly and supportive.
My son is currently 18 months old, and every day at nursery he takes part in various activities all of which are helping develop him. A huge thank you to all the staff for your reassurance and the friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

My children have been attending Helen Howes Private Day Nurseries for just over a year now. It has been and continues to be a fantastic experience for them. They have both grown in confidence and have each made significant developmental progress during their time there which has in no doubt been due
to the care and diligence of the wonderful team at the nursery. The team are always incredibly friendly and very eager to help with any stages of my children's growth such as supporting them with speech development and/or potty training. Both my children are incredibly happy there and this is reflected in the relationships they each have with their key workers and room teams.

Our son has been going to Helen Howes since he was 15 months old. We have been delighted with the care provided since day one. The staff are caring, engaging and clearly love the children. The nursery has undergone many improvements in the last couple of years and is a bright, colourful, fun environment
for all the children. There is an emphasis on play and learning and development. We will very much miss the nursery when he goes to school in September.

Outstanding nursery - both our children have grown in confidence since starting at Helen Howes Private Day Nurseries which we greatly feel is linked to the fantastic staff. Our children ask to go to nursery on a weekend, they love it that much.

My daughter started pre-school just before her 3rd birthday. She was very emotional and was reluctant to go after been cared for by grandparents. All the Helen Howes staff were fantastic - their caring nature helped her grow in confidence. She now goes with a big smile, looking forward to the fun-filled
day ahead. They have a lovely family feel and all the staff know the children. The activities and environment are great but the best aspect is the nurture of the children. Staff communicate very well and report back at the end of each day. I would highly recommend the pre-school to any parent.

This is a brilliant nursery with caring and fun staff. Our son attended from 11 months to starting school and still enjoys the holiday club. Our daughter has attended from 11 months to present (age 3). Both children have really enjoyed their time at Helen Howes and we feel confident in the owner, her
daughters, and their staff. They set a family and friendly tone and take a genuine interest in each child. Our children have had great experiences (visits from reptiles, visits from a drama group, baking), have learnt about sharing, grown in confidence and made firm friends with other children.

Our first child attended Helen Howes until she left for school, she was definitely prepared for school and had been looked after so much by the staff here. We decided to send our second child here as we’d had such a good experience the first time round. My second child absolutely loves the nursery.
She is nearly 2, she wanders in with no trouble and I know she is well looked after. I don’t have one negative thing to say. Thank you.

All 3 of my children have attended Helen Howes - my son was very sad to leave when it was time to go to school! I’ve always felt confident leaving the children there as they absolutely love the staff and looked forward to going. The nursery arrange lots of little field trips to the local park (and occasionally
further afield) which is great, and they have helped my daughter master her letters - she confidently writes her own name now which is brilliant. The nursery definitely deserves its Oustanding rating.

We have sent our two daughters to Helen Howes since they were both ten months old. From the day we looked around it was the staff that sold the nursery to us, they were so interested in the children, the focus is clearly on them. Having said that all the staff have been so easy to get on with and they
all take the time to share a conversation upon drop off and pick up. For me, it is an extension of the family because the girls spend so much time there.
The formula clearly works as they are so happy to go and when at times this hasn’t been the case, the staff have worked with us to help.
We are lucky to have this facility on our doorstep.

Absolutely brilliant. My little boy started here when he was 2 years old. He cried all the time and the staff are so reassuring and caring with him. He is now so happy to go to nursery. I put my older two into a different one and let’s just say I so regretted it after seeing these fabulous staff do
so much more. Thank you so much to you all.

Our daughter has attended Helen Howes since the age of 10 months. She is now 4 years old and preparing to start school. We could not be happier with the care our little girl has received, she is a happy, confident and intelligent child thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff. Nursery is
a fun, safe and educational environment and our child comes home with a big smile at the end of each day with lots of stories to tell about her day in nursery. We are about to have our second child and would not send him/her to any other nursery.

The staff truly love my child. He runs off happily in the morning and wants to stay when we go to pick him up. Staff always have time to chat to us as parents and we know he is well looked after and encouraged in his skills development and his interests. The staff across the whole nursery, management
and kitchen know my child and it's lovely to have that personal feel.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.902)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.902) out of 10 for Helen Howes Private Day Nurseries is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Helen Howes Private Day Nurseries is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.985 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Helen Howes Private Day Nurseries is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 78 number of registered child places is 15.6. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.6 = 0.385
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
