My Daughter started at Child's Play in February 2016 I was so pleased with how well she settled and how much interest the staff show in her. She is loving nursery and often brings home pictures she has done while at nursery. I cant praise the staff highly enough my daughter has come on in leaps and
bounds since starting here. Would recommend to anybody.

My son started at Childsplay in January 2016 after I returned suddenly to the UK from China. Not knowing the area very well I explored the possibility of using a few different nurseries. The welcome I received when I arrived at Childsplay was second-to-none. The girl who gave the tour was able to answer
all of my questions and immediately put my mind at ease. Making the decision to send him there was easy and the daily rate is extremely good value for money.
Now my son attends Childsplay (baby room) 3 days a week. The quality of care he receives is excellent. They keep me informed of his progress throughout the day via text message. I am most impressed by the food provided as it is all home made on the premises. What more could a parent want than knowing your child is spending their day in a home-from-home? The staff in the baby room are friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. They have made the move from China easy to manage because of their care and attention.

My daughter has been at this nursery for over 2 years and still present. I am very pleased at how much she has progressed. The nursery is very well presented and maintained. We are given monthly news letters of what the children will be learning about that month. The level of teaching is brilliant as
children learn inside the nursery and are taken outside to learn things too. E.g park, librarys, train and fire stations and many more. I am always comfortable speaking to the teachers about my child and if i have any concerns about anything they are very helpful. My daughter loves going to nursery and tells me a lot of good things when we get back home. I would recommend this nursery to all my friends and family with young children. Also my son will be starting at this nursery this month i am more than excited to see him progress and make lots of friends here too. Thank you to childsplay.

My daughter attended Childsplay from being 2 years old until she was 3 and half and I have nothing but praise for the team. When she first started she was a very shy young girl and it took her a long time to settle but the staff were amazing with her and by the time she left to start school she had
grown so much and gained so much confidence which helped her settle into her new school with no problems. She had a good relationship with staff and does say she misses them but she does still see them now occasionally as her younger brother now attends Childsplay. I would and have recomended the nursery to friends and family. The staff always have smiles on their faces and always make you feel welcome and comfartble. There a fab team.

Fantastic!
My little girl has been attending for 12 months now and the staff are amazing! She suffers from multiple allergies and the staff at nursery have gone out of their way to ensure that she always has safe meals to eat and that any baking activities are tailored so that she can join in safely.
They regularly go on walks to the local park which she enjoys and always comes home telling me about all of the fun things that they have been doing.
In the 12 months that she has been at nursery her letter sounds and letter formation have improved imensley as have her counting skills all thanks to the hard work of the staff.

My son has been going to Childsplay Nursery since he was a baby. He was a difficult baby with lactose intolerance and the staff bent over backwards to help him. He has moved up through the rooms and each have been amazing with him. All the staff have worked wonders with him. He loves going to nursery
and has forged some strong bonds with some of the staff that have helped to look after him. He will really miss going when he starts school. The work the staff do with the kids is amazing and my son has come on leaps and bounds with his counting and phonics and writing - all down to the nursery staff. I cant praise them highly enough. It is going to be a hard decision to take him out for school. The staff are very friendly and take the time to talk to you whenever you see them.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.799)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.799) out of 10 for Childsplay Private Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.767 for Childsplay Private Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.767
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.032 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Childsplay Private Day Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 number of registered child places is 9.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.532
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
