Birkbees Day Care is a purpose-built nursery situated in Birkby, Huddersfield. The nursery has been an established part of the community since 1994.

Birkbees offers high-quality care and learning in a well resourced, friendly environment with excellent outdoor facilities including a den building area, mud kitchen, climbing wall and a large growing and planting area.

Under 3's: Full time (Monday - Friday) £300 / Full Day £63/ Half Day £37,
Over 3's: Full time (Monday - Friday) £295 / Full Day £62 / Half Day £36,
Hourly Rate £8.

Morning session - 7:30am - 12:30pm / Afternoon session - 1:00pm - 6:00pm. They offer 15 Hours funding for two and three year olds and 30 hours funding for 3-4 year olds.
Fully Funded 15 & 30 hours places are subject to a sundries charge of £1.50 per hour
For example; 23 hours per week £34.50 10 hours £15.

My daughter absolutely loves Birkbees. She has developed such a strong bond with the staff and looks forward to going to nursery every morning! They always have such a variety of activities for the children to do and teach them about different cultures in amazing ways. She’s always coming home with
something she has painted/crafted that I can keep for her to look at when she’s older! The staff keep me updated on everything she has done through the day. I couldn’t recommend this place anymore!

I have 2 children that attend Birkbees. The nursery is amazing with a range of activities for the children to meet their development. The staff are friendly, positive and amazing!. Overall the nursery is great!.

A wonderful, understanding and accommodating place to be. Since my son resumed here it’s been amazing. The school made our settling in very easy.

Both of my children attended this nursery. I feel the most comfortable leaving them there, they love it and sometimes don't want to come home because they are having so much fun. The staff are lovely, the food must be delicious as my child always asks for seconds and the facilities are excellent. I
cannot recommend this place enough. It is the best place for your little one. Also, I found the team the most helpful in special circumstances my family was in, offering as much assistance, compassion and flexibility which just proves the point this place has the best interest of little ones at heart. Thank you, my two daughters are growing up being nurtured, looked after, and their skills and abilities growing and developing day by day.

My son has been attending for 2 years now and not once has he cried when I'm leaving. Now he's toddling and he trots in on his own waving and saying " bye mummy". That gives me comfort going to work for the day. All the staff down to the cleaner are all very polite, friendly and will always try to cater
for any change and take what you say on board. Having a few weeks off nursery and now he's back. I can see how he is developing and his speech is getting better.

My daughter is 22 months old, over the past 12 months my daughter has learnt a lot. She loves all the staff mentors and has made many friends. They keep me informed at all times on her daily learning and activities. I looked into a lot of nurseries before choosing Birkbees when I first looked around
there was lots for my daughter to do also the outside play area was brilliant, lots of space and learning equipment. Staff are very friendly, the nursery is very clean and very inviting. My daughter loves going, her learning is due to all the staff.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2007

Natalie is known by many for the energy and enthusiasm she carries with her when working with children and staff.


Natalie has worked with Birkbees for 15 years, she has done BTEC Level 3 in childcare.


She has been Deputy Nursery Manager for 8 years she supports the Manager in her duties and ensures all children and parents feel welcome.


She is now Nursery Manager
