Kids Planet Fernhurst Court are an Ofsted 'Outstanding' nursery (Nov 2016) with a passionate and caring staff team who have worked at the nursery for many years. Located in an ideal setting, the nursery is surrounded by woodland area and enjoys huge play spaces, which the children adore. The on-site cook prepares the most delicious meals and really is part of the Kids Planet family. Their rooms updated in Jan 21 have lots of exciting activities for children.

There are lots of things about the nursery that make it fantastic but their favourites are:

My granddaughter has been attending this nursery since January 2023. She enjoys her time at the nursery. She has made friends and has grown in confidence when speaking to others. The nursery provides lots of stimulating activities aimed at developing vital skills in the children. They also organise
excursions away from the nursery for example a trip to a pet shop to allow children to see and handle small animals. They hold regular parent's evenings to discuss a child's progress. We are very pleased with the nursery and would highly recommend it.

I was very anxious about sending our little one to nursery but from the beginning, all the staff were extremely supportive even when I would ring numerous times on his first few days to check he was ok and was always told to ring as much as you like. All the staff know our little one's name and say
good morning and good bye to him when he leaves, which I think is lovely. He goes straight over to staff in the morning which makes me feel so much better knowing he is settled and I get regular updates throughout the day. I am always asked how he's been over the weekend or on his days off which I think is a lovely personal touch. So far he's been out for walks and to the park and a picnic, he loves it here and I couldn't have picked a better place to care for him whilst I'm at work.

My daughter has been attending Kids Planet for 6 months now and she absolutely loves it. Staff are really friendly and caring and provide amazing learning experiences. My daughter particularly loves the fantastic outdoor space.

Kids Planet Fernhurst Court have been fantastic with my son, and now my daughter attends too. My son has SEND and I cannot thank the SENCO enough. The staff are always very friendly and clearly care for all the children in the setting.

Couldn't pick a better nursery for my son. He has been attending since he was a baby and the care and love he has received in each room has made leaving him at nursery much easier. He loves his nursery meals and always asks us to make tea "just like Gillibobs" at home. His teachers offer him the best
learning experiences based on his interests and development needs and he comes home full of stories to tell about his day. The extracurricular activities, such as trips to the local parks, theatre, and into town to buy authentic resources really enriches learning further. My son loves the outdoor space at nursery! He loves going into local woods as well as the onsite forest school. The outdoors provides endless opportunities in all weather, especially sledging and mud slides! All I can say is come and get a feel for the nursery yourself.

Our son has attended for just over two years. He loves going to nursery. The facility itself is clean and tidy. I think the outdoor equipment in particular could do with replacing/updating but overall the equipment is very good. My son has come on leaps and bounds in terms of learning, speaking and
interaction and that's largely thanks to the hard work of the team and his key worker. The food he eats is fantastic and the variety is excellent. Activities and all-round care are really good.

we love Fernhurst Court for our daughters - they have wonderful communication and genuinely care for our girls. It is nice to hear different stories about all the activities that our preschooler has been doing. The outdoor space is also fabulous.

Ultimately entering a schooling environment I was hesitant as I was unsure of what to expect and was not sure my son's needs would be met, however, Kids Planet has been a game changer and I'm overjoyed with their caring nature and patient outlook when watching over my child. My son has made impressive
improvements in not just his language and social skills but as a person he is so much more confident and always so happy and keen to go back to the nursery for more fun! Thank you so much to all the staff for making this experience so positive and heartwarming. Thank you!

My daughter has enjoyed attending Fernhurst Court since she was 6 months old on a full time basis.
The staff are just amazing with the children, the staff that have looked after my daughter personally are amazing it would be impossible to pick just one. The amount of food that my child receives now
including a "high tea" is questionable as now my daughter eats a meal at home on top of the 3 she receives throughout the day.


Due to previous covid restrictions we have not been able to go into nursery for a while. Just recently they offered an open day where existing parents could go in and have a look around. This was great, not only to see what investment the latest owners have put into nursery but also to see where our daughter spends her days in pre-school. This was a very positive move for me and my partner.


I love the parent app, it makes all the difference for me as a mother, I think this is important when you leave your child all day in someone else's care.

Both my daughters thoroughly enjoy their time at nursery. I just feel there is a lack of communication at times with parents, don’t always find out about “days”, although recently it’s been better, and have been aware of comic relief, etc.
The app doesn’t always have all the details on but in honesty,
I’d rather my children had the time with them than the staff writing it up.
Staff are always happy to accommodate any changes needed. It’s been a huge help knowing my girls are happy.

My children started at Fernhurst in March 2021 after being out of their previous setting for a full 12 months. I was extremely apprehensive about this but the staff have really accommodated them, made them feel settled and welcome and completely settled their nerves. I can see a huge change in them
both since starting at Fernhurst, it is clear that a lot of time and care is invested into them both (one in the baby room and one in pre-school). The staff are lovely and friendly and are always happy to answer any questions. Although we are still in the midst of a pandemic, I feel confident and comfortable sending my children to this setting, knowing staff are doing all they can to keep them safe. Thank you all for all your hard work.

My little girl has been at Fernhurst Court for over 3 years and loves it. The way the staff dealt with the Pandemic has been brilliant! The staff take extra precautions to make sure they, the venue and our children are safe. The outdoor facilitates are brilliant and the children and staff get as much
outdoor play as they can (weather permitting). I am so surprised at the excitement my child has to go to preschool - she asks to go at weekends! The meals they get are of a variety, you are updated with these and activities via the app. Any minor issues I have expressed concerns have been dealt with quickly and professionally. She loves the staff and you can tell the staff invest their time in the children with the way I have seen my child grow and develop - the way she has progressed is brilliant and I feel she will have a great start in primary! Really great nursery - would recommend always!

My daughter attends Fernhurst Court Nursery and she loves it. We have never had any problems dropping her off and she runs out of nursery every night full of stories of what she has been doing all day. All of the staff are lovely and really caring. I have never worried about leaving my daughter at nursery
and in my opinion, this is the most important thing. I feel very well informed and if I ever need to speak to the staff there is always someone available.

My son has been coming here since he was 10 months old and he really loves it. The staff are so caring and easy to talk to, they were happy to cater for his vegetarian diet and keep me posted of his progress. They will ring me straight away if they have any concerns about him, or they want to check
something with me. I know he is in safe hands. My little boy loves telling us about all the things he gets up to at nursery and looks forward to going. I picked this nursery also because of the excellent outdoor facilities which the staff really make the most of.

My little one is extremely shy and finds it hard to settle around new people. Fernhurst were extremely accommodating and helpful in putting my mind at ease and helping my little one transition into nursery life. She loves nursery life now; the staff know her and always keep me up to date with how she’s
getting on; every day she’s involved in new activities and has really come on socially. A big thank you to all the staff in the toddler room. I’d recommend this nursery to anyone, especially to anyone whose little one struggles to settle around new people.
