I have worked in early years since graduating as a teacher in 2006. Before I had my son in 2011, I taught reception class and had the privilege of teaching many children to read and begin writing.
I have 3 children in their tween/teenage years. After having a little time out when my son was at pre-school, I came back to early years and worked in the management team at a couple of nurseries around the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
I joined Evergreen after recently working as an inspector in the early years sector, which I have done since 2020. I have also worked supporting children with additional needs.
In my spare time I love to sing and play music in a brass band as well as walking my dog Missy on the beach.

Hello, my name is Rachel Howlett. I am a senior practitioner at Evergreen.
I have a calm and caring nature and love working with children and helping them to learn and develop as individuals. I enjoy reading to the children and have fun using my storytelling skills where I make up imaginary stories, bringing these to life using a range of props and most importantly inviting the children to join in my story-time adventures.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and have a love for horses, having had riding lessons from an early age.

I am very excited to combine both roles together and get the children involved with meal times and baking. In my spare time, I enjoy spending it with my partner, family and friends. My name is Sharon. I am an early years assistant here at Evergreen.
I am conscientious and reliable and have been in childcare for over 25 years. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, small and large nurseries and childminding.
In my spare time, I like spending time with family and friends, going on holidays and taking my dog on long walks and relaxing.
My role here at Evergreen is to look after the settings, I clean, sort out all the rooms, the laundry and clothing. I re-set all the kitchen and bathroom areas, making sure the children have a safe and inviting environment at all times.
I also food shop for both settings, ensuring the children have meals made from a variety of fresh and healthy produce.
As an experienced practitioner I also supervise the children, interacting and engaging with them to support the team at busier times.

I have worked in the Early Years since 1997 so have many years of experience and hold a level 5 in childcare education leadership and management.
My role at Evergreen is to oversee the quality and consistency of the care and learning we provide for all our children across our 2 settings. This includes supporting our team to access learning and development opportunities to develop and enhance their practice. I also lead internal operations and support the nursery owner in wider nursery developments.
