Stanlaw Abbey is a fantastic nursery and I don't have any concerns when leaving my child for work knowing she is well cared for and all of her needs are being met, the staff are very friendly and approachable and they keep you updated on your child's learning and skills. The garden areas are well kept and there are plenty of activities on offer for the different age groups.

After a final incident in March resulting in my child ending up in hospital we pulled him out immediately. Receiving a phone call saying he has fell and bleeding lots out his mouth, what do you want us to. Me as mother trying to clarify the extent and my husband went to collect to him. Upon his arrival, it was immediately clear that he required urgent medical attention and needed to go to hospital. The lack of assertiveness, appropriate first aid response, and failure to recognise the severity of his injuries raises serious concerns about management training, judgement, and safeguarding procedures. ANY head injuries with significant bleeding should be an immediate trip to A&E or phone call 999. Furthermore, the nursery has taken no accountability for what happened and has not offered any apology. Instead, they have suggested that he was "tired and clumsy" as an explanation. This was not an isolated incident, so we pulled him out immediately for his safety.

Reply from Lianne Sewell, Finance Manager at S4YC @ Stanlaw Abbey Children's Centre

Thank you for your feedback Louise. The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is our highest priority. We administer first aid as required and seek further medical attention whenever it is deemed necessary.

As this matter relates to a specific child, it would not be appropriate to...

I've had nothing but a positive experience since my little boy joined this nursery, he is always excited to go in. The staff are so loverly and the days are filled with fun activities. My boy has come on such a long way since starting here. I get regular updates on his day which is such a loverly part knowing how happy he is throughout the day. Couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

My lil one has been with this nursery for nearly 4 years now and will be leaving in September, needless to say I'm absolutely gutted she will have to leave. The team are fantastic with her! She absolutely loves her time here. she has built a fantastic bond with nearly all of the staff new and old. They understand my expectations with her behaviour and mirror this when dealing with any issues which I really appreciate. my only tiny criticism would be id like her to do more academic learning I.e numbers, letters, writing but I believe its not something nurseries do across the board. One of the staff has been a fantastic addition with her knowledge of teaching I can tell she is passionate about the children. All the staff in this setting are great and so kind and approachable. Thank you Stanlaw Abbey for keeping my little girl safe and happy.

My son started in this nursery in April 24 and he absolutely loves it. He literally zooms in every morning. He has autism and he has come on leaps and bounds since starting here. The preschool team have honestly got the patience of saints and are all so friendly and welcoming! Aside from all the fun activities and learning they do (my son particularly likes anything to do with water) I think what I love the most is how keen the team are to give a cuddle to a child that needs it, it's exactly what you need to know to be reassured that your child is well looked after while you're not with them! They are so accommodating to my child's needs and aren't afraid to offer advice or different strategies on things that may benefit my son. I would 100% recommend this nursery and im so glad it was recommended to me when i needed it!

I have used a few nurseries in the past due to having 5 kids but I would say this one is the most open plan, welcoming and relaxed environment any of my kids have been too. The staff are welcoming, friendly provide all information you need to know about your child's day aswell as communication throughout the day via message if needed. My child gets excited when coming into the car park, she doesn't hesitate to go in and gets stuck in and is extremely happy in this nursery I would definitely recommend this nursery. Any issues/query's xxx

My little boy started nursery at Stanlaw Abbey at the beginning of January. The staff are always so welcoming and easy to speak to. He already absolutely loves attending nursery. It didn't take him long to settle in at all and this is down to the staff who make sure they know the child well and build that relationship. I go to work at ease knowing my little boy is well looked after and most importantly happy. I would absolutely recommend Stanlaw Abbey Nursery.

My child loves Stanlaw Abbey, she adores the people who take care of her there, and she is so happy to tell me everything she's done after the day she's had. Explaining the friends and the daily routine they have there. It's getting her ready for big school she's so excited. Thank you to all the staff at Stanlaw.

This is my second child in this nursery now and after my other little boy going into school in September 2024 I had my worries that he would struggle as they were in the same room for 4 months. The staff have taken that all away. He has thrived and he loves everyone. I honestly wish I could keep my boys with them forever. All through December they planned lots of lovely activities for Christmas adding to the excitement. I can't thank everyone at Stanlaw for making such an effort every day.

I was very anxious about sending my 2-year-old to nursery but when we came to look around, you got a good vibe. My son felt comfortable too. I could tell by how he just went toddling off without looking back hah.

Since my son started in September 2024 he has settled in really well. The staff are really nice, if my son is unsettled when I drop him off within minutes he's playing, the staff will inform me with a text and even send pics of him playing. He has a good bond with the staff in the toddler room.

Staff continue to be utterly amazing in the care they give my boy. They are so patient with him when he is having a day when needs cuddles. Despite being only 10 months he tries to jump out of his car seat the second we pull up. I love hearing the tales at the end of the day of what he is up to. Massive praise to the staff member in the baby room for being the perfect match as a key worker for my boy. I always leave in the morning knowing he is in the best of hands.

Can't recommend Stanloaw Abbey enough, after trying a previous nursery for my little one and feeling like he was an effort as he wasn't settling at all (6 weeks of settling-in sessions) the girls at Stanlaw really made us feel welcome and taken on board everything that my little one needs (very sensitive at times and needs lots of cuddles). Within a matter of 2 weeks he has settled in, lovely they really understand his needs and when he needs some quiet time/cuddles ect 100% recommend.

Really happy with the setting, with everything being new of course it will have a great vibe as soon as you walk in, but the highlight is the staff! They are amazing and unbelievably patient, my daughter has had a bit of a rough time adapting at first but now she goes in with the biggest smile and that says it all. They are flexible and nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend 100%.

My son absolutely loves attending this nursery when he can and has come on so much with his speech and socialising with other kids even while having some delays due to being premature. I have never had any problems or concerns and they always look after my son well when I tell them whether he's having any issues that day.
