Welcome to Kids Planet Appleton Thorn! The team are super proud of their nursery, set in the Old Vicarage in the heart of Appleton Thorn. Not only is the building gorgeous with all its original and traditional features, but they also have a lovely extensive and exciting garden for children to explore too. In November 2018, Ofsted recognised their hard work and dedication to the children in their care and awarded them Outstanding in ALL areas. They were praised for their high-quality teaching and fantastic forest school, providing a rich outdoor environment for children to enjoy. The warm and welcoming staff team build up strong relationships with your child and they work in partnership with you to provide high-quality care and education. Their care for your children is genuine and the staff team are supportive, kind and encouraging.

No issues whatsoever with The Old Vicarage Day Nursery. Excellent staff. Knowledge of our children is fantastic. Our daughters love it! One daughter has flourished and made great friends, the other has settled so quickly - credit to one staff member particularly but all staff have been great. Personable
staff. We feel well informed every time we pick up and drop off.

The staff are The Old Vicarage are warm, caring and professional. My daughter skips into nursery every day, and I know that she is in excellent hands. My little one started the nursery in September 2020 in such unprecedented and stressful times the staff have been amazing. Extremely supportive and helped my child settle quickly.
The outdoor space is amazing and the activities the staff come up with are fantastic. Everywhere seems clean and safe.

Attentive and friendly team, focussed on developing children in a fun way. My child is always singing and dancing showing us what he has learnt. My child attended this setting from the age of two until she left to go to school. She was very happy at the nursery and made lovely relationships with the staff and children there. Since she has been attending school I have had several comments from her new teacher about how well prepared she was when
she started school. She had developed really great phonics skills so has taken to reading very quickly and adapted to the routines of school as the teacher in 'Little School' at the Old Vicarage had worked really hard to get the children ready for this.

My daughter is very happy at this nursery and talks about the children and staff a lot. They have been instrumental in helping me with some difficult toddler times and I feel they are a great source of information and influence. They have fresh ideas all the time and I am glad that we made the decision
to travel a bit further to have such a good outdoor space.

Staff within the setting are always friendly and polite, they go out of their way to acknowledge both parents and children on arrival and when leaving. Our little man loves attending nursery and has grown in confidence since starting. He comes home shattered after a busy day of learning.

I wouldn't choose this nursery again.
Shame as it could be a great nursery. However staff turnover is high, changes are made without proper consultation and children are labelled by some members of staff.
Management is poor at responding to complaints and do not handle things correctly and according
to the procedure. Communication is also poor.
I wish I had removed my child sooner.
Looks great on paper the reality is somewhat different, unfortunately!
