Hale Day Nursery & Nursery School

I have been very pleased with the nursery, in particular the care my child has received. All the staff are friendly, experienced and helpful, creating a caring and nurturing environment. The communications and updates provided are excellent so as a parent I feel fully engaged and informed. Attention to detail is shown throughout giving me confidence in the direct care and supporting elements. An example of this is with the initial settling-in sessions, as well as with the transition between rooms/groups, where every effort has been made to make these as seamless as possible for my child.

My child has improved remarkably in social interaction and engagement in children activities. She's started to put two words together. Thanks to Hales team for the care. She plays on her own on mild supervision. I understand her eating at meal times in nursery has now improved.

My daughter wasn’t the easiest to get settled however one of the staff members was absolutely fantastic with her. I genuinely felt happy leaving her there. It was a great start for her schooling. My daughter was always happy to arrive at the nursery and leave me after she was settled. She never complained.

I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful nursery. Leaving your little one is the hardest thing to do and every time I dropped her off I knew I was leaving her at home with family. My daughter moved into the Squirrels (now Bears) room after her old nursery closed. She quickly created a strong bond with her key worker. There were neverending updates of fun activities, yummy meals, diddy dance, or football. I didn’t need to worry when she moved up to Little Owl because she absolutely loved her new key worker. They had lots of adventures at forest school and made amazing friendships. She’s now moved on to preschool, and I will admit that this decision was partly made due to the cost, but they have obviously created an amazing foundation for her as she is thriving there.

Hale Day Nursery was an easy choice for us, the outdoor space really sold it. I can't fault the experience my son had there (from age 3 until graduation) and I always felt really confident in the care he received from the staff, especially his key worker who was amazing! I also loved the way they involved parents in activities such as Forest School, Mother's Day, Sports Day etc to allow us to see the children in action in the nursery setting interacting with their friends. Highly recommended!

My youngest child is the third I have sent to Hale Day Nursery & Nursery School and I couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough. Of all the things I like about it (the food, the outdoor space, the creative activities), it is the warmth of the staff that makes it truly exceptional. My child and her key worker have a beautiful bond and I leave her there knowing that she is being cared for attentively and with love.

Was gutted when they finished here because it is a lovely vibe and an amazing setting for kids growing up.

Our daughter attended Hale Day nursery from one to three years leaving in August 2022 and we are both so pleased with her progress and the work the whole team have contributed to both her happiness and her development. Our daughter is leaving Nursery with an abundance of intelligence and confidence which will stand her in good stead heading into her new school. The setting is wonderful, lots of open ended wooden toys and a range of different sensory activities are set up for the children each day to encourage their learning and development. They have a large outdoor area and make sure the children get lots of fresh air. The food is fresh and varied each day and we are kept informed with what she has eaten, naps and nappies for the younger setting. They helped with potty training also. Our daughter established a really strong positive connection to her keyworker so we always felt confident she was happy and well cared for. Would recommend to all.

Hale Day Nursery & Nursery School is a fantastic nursery and my daughter has thoroughly enjoyed her time there so far. The girls in the Rabbit room that have worked with my daughter have been fantastic, nurturing and caring. They have been incredibly reassuring when we have had a question or a worry and myself and my husband have been very appreciative of their support. My daughter has developed her skills physically, mentally and socially and it has been lovely to receive weekly updates of the activities she has been doing, the food she has been eating and the things she has learnt. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

Staff are always welcoming and on hand to offer support. My baby settled very easily. The environment is fun and engaging while providing a home away from home feel. The nursery provides fresh and healthy meals each day and the team goes above and beyond to ensure the best level of care and education for children of all ages. Highly recommend wouldn’t take my little one anywhere else.

When I asked my son he said 'I like pre-school really much'. Overall we think you guys are great. The staff are fabulous and run a tight ship. Since Covid communication about what they have been doing is less but somewhat understandably and overall they have dealt with the pandemic situation brilliantly.

I feel very proud and lucky that she attends Hale Day Nursery.

Both of our children (1 year old and 2 years old) love going to nursery. We feel confident dropping them off each morning that they will have lovely days surrounded by fantastic, caring and nurturing staff. It is clear to see the amazing relationships that all the staff (not just those working in the same room setting) have with the children - all children are greeted by their name and a smile. The activities and resources made available to the children are fantastic and well thought out to promote a love of learning.

I am so totally happy with every aspect of Hale Day Nursery. My eldest daughter started there in 2014 and stayed throughout until she started school in 2017. My other daughter joined in 2017 and is currently enjoying her preschool year - that totals nearly 7 years of being at Hale, which speaks for itself. The staff are happy and friendly and expertly knowledgeable in all that they do, the facilities are excellent - a large, safe outdoors area and spacious, bright rooms inside, the menus are healthy and varied, information is passed between staff and families really well. We will be sad to say goodbye come September when my youngest heads off to Primary school. Thank you Hale - part of our family!

My little boy has been attending the Nursery for over 6 months now since turning 1. When picking a nursery we wanted a fun, caring, exciting, happy environment for our little boy and particularly wanted somewhere he could enjoy being outside, getting dirty and doing all the fun things toddlers should be doing. We fell in love with Elmscot's garden and views during our induction and that was enough to pick this nursery over the others in the area. Elmscot was the perfect match. The staff have taken such care in his development and any concerns I had such as his speech I was immediately given feedback for and ways they could help. I can not thank the girls enough in rabbits and then hedgehogs for my little boy's time there, I feel so comfortable leaving him there knowing he’s in great hands! A special mention to 2 members of staff in particular who have been his main care providers, the love they have given him has been like he was their own and it was so lovely to see him form this bond. Thank you Elmscot.

My daughter loves attending nursery and staff are always very welcoming and friendly. They offer a variety of different, exciting and stimulating activities and the outdoor space is excellent. My daughter also really enjoys her lunch!

Incredible surroundings looking out on to fields with plenty of outdoor space and opportunities to get involved with forest school. Passionate and friendly staff with your child's best interests at heart, always willing to help in any situation. 10/10.

Our child has flourished at Elmscot Hale. It’s an absolute joy to see how far he has come and how much he enjoys his time there. The updates are wonderful and thorough, so you get to see what little one is up to in the day.

I thank all at the nursery but in particular all of those at the Owl room. Well done all!

The outdoor provision is particularly impressive and we love the forest school sessions and other activities on offer.
