Tiny Talkers is a small, friendly day care provider, offering the highest possible standards of care and education within a fun, stimulating and homely environment.

At Tiny Talkers they believe all children are unique and follow a ‘Reggio Emilia Approach’ to children, families and learning.

They recognise children’s individual interests and developmental stages and build on these to plan and provide activities to develop their confidence, creativity and independence.

They are inspired by the poem 'The one hundred languages of children', which goes ...

The child is made of one hundred.

The child has a hundred languages, a hundred hands, a hundred thoughts, a hundred ways of thinking, of playing, of speaking.

A hundred always, a hundred ways of listening, of marvelling, of loving, a hundred joys for singing and understanding, a hundred worlds to discover, a hundred worlds to invent, a hundred worlds to dream.

The child has a hundred languages (and a hundred, hundred more) but they steal ninety-nine.

The schools and the culture separate the head from the body.

They tell the child: to think without hands, to do without the head, to listen and not to speak, to understand without joy, to love and to marvel only at Easter and Christmas.

They tell the child to discover the world already there and of the hundred they steal ninety-nine.

They tell the child: that work and play, reality and fantasy, science and imagination, sky and earth, reason and dream, are things that do not belong together.

And thus they tell the child that the hundred is not there.

The child says: No way. The hundred is there."

My son has been going to Tiny Talkers since he was 11 months old and I have to say they are amazing! He is now nearly 3 and a half and he adores all the staff! From his first settling in session the staff made me feel at ease even though I was an emotional wreck! I highly recommend this nursery to all
parents!

Our daughter has attended Tiny Talkers since Jan and we couldn't be happier with it. The carers are super friendly and have made a great connection with our daughter. She has developed so much in the time she's been at the nursery and absolutely loves it there. The variety of activities is brilliant
too. Honestly couldn't have wished for a better nursery. Thank you!!

We love Tiny Talkers! Our son settled really, really well thanks to a brilliant settling in policy which allowed for lots of settling in sessions gradually building to a whole day (unlike many other settings that only offer a couple of 1-2 hour sessions). Every single member of the staff cares for him
as if he was their own and I’ve been really impressed with the ways in which staff embrace training and upskilling on early years pedagogy. There has been zero staff turnover in the whole time he’s been there which is always a great sign and we couldn’t be happier with our tiny talker!

My son (2 years old) has been attending Tiny Talkers for a few months. It took around 2 weeks for him to settle in completely because he attended another nursery before. But staff had been very helpful in making him feel welcomed and at ease. He is now very happy there! We noticed that he had picked
up a lot of new words and made a lot of friends. The nursery has a 'no-shoes-indoor' policy so it's very clean and homely. The garden is not the biggest but there are a lot of things for the children to play with.

We found Tiny Talkers was a safe and loving environment for our daughter. It has a very homely setting and the nursery workers are all lovely and clearly work hard. Unfortunately, we don't feel that we would recommend Tiny Talkers, as, during my daughters 6 months attending, a turnaround of nursery
workers was high. The tapestry wasn't updated very often for her so we weren't really aware what she was doing at nursery. I also found when collecting her from nursery I would be met with the same comment each day that she'd had a good day and eaten well. Whilst I appreciate there are a lot of children attending, something personal to my daughter so I know what she has been doing would be great, as she is still young and doesn't always remember what she has been doing. The male nursery nurse is an asset to the nursery and he was brilliant and caring for our daughter. He also always gave me a personal account of her day and could tell me exactly what she had been doing, which was great!

My little boy has really enjoyed going to this nursery. He was looked after very well. The nursery isn't too big but the staff are so creative and they always have new things to explore and play with. Staff are very good at sharing information about your child's development.

Excellent nursery for both of our kids over the years. Family friendly environment, great food and excellent learning. Great preparation for school at an advanced level through natural learning. We have been very pleased with the nursery and our kids have thoroughly enjoyed their time there, and loved
going there each morning. Highly recommend on all aspects, a brilliant nursery.

My little boy has just started in January in Teddy Bears, I could not ask any more from them as they do such an amazing job. He always comes home happy and smiling and I can see what he’s done each day with his diary. They have made so much effort in making us welcome, having settling in sessions and
always being there to answer my calls when I make sure he has settled in for the day. I am extremely glad we chose to come to Tiny Talkers.

My children have been at Tiny Talkers since it started. It was a wonderful nursery, my children were always happy there, and very well cared for, lots of toys and day trips in the summer. They both now go to breakfast and after school club, as well as holiday club. They still love it there, even though
they're older. There are plenty of toys and quiet corners for them to do their reading, they get a good meal in the evening, not just a piece of bread and jam/cheese etc, they get hand made pizza, as well as other hand made quality foods.

I couldn't recommend them more, they're a small business, very personal touch, the owners know all of the parents and children, they're so caring, and always accommodate us with our ad hoc requests. Staff there are brilliant, many have worked there years, not a high turn-over, which, in my mind means the staff are happy, so the children will also be happy.

Overall TinyTalkers Day Nursery is brilliant, but just some little standards annoy me, for example, losing my child's property (eg bottles, coats, clothes).

Secondly, I don’t see much in the sense of feedback on how my child is doing within the nursery, how she is getting on with other children?

How is her learning going? Is she developing correctly? Would certainly love to see more on that aspect either being verbally or videos or pictures on the app.

My son started to attend The Tiny Talkers Day Nursery just before his second birthday. Before then I was pleased enough with his progress as he had developed at a steady pace and his health visitor said everything was as expected.

I have to say since then his development has come on leaps and bounds.

Our child is more confident, happy and even though he attends nursery only twice a week he often comes home singing new songs and speaking new words. It was hard to leave him in the beginning for both of us (parent and child) as he has been used to spending most of his time with me at home.

If I'm honest three months after beginning Tiny Talkers the hardest part is convincing him to come home.

Very friendly nursery. Staff exceptional and really care and know each child individually. High standard of Early Years teaching yet all done through games and fun so children are unaware they are learning. Very flexible and accommodating nursery. Children are very settled and happy and entertained
with a wide variety of activities.

Fantastic nursery. Excellent staff who really cares about the children entrusted to their care. My son attended the nursery since he was 6 months of age and he loved every day of it.

Staff are very loving, well educated, energetic and happy to meet each individual child and their parent's needs.

Children don't have to follow the nursery's schedule, for example in regard to sleep time, but staff are happy to follow the parent's routine. Lots of out of nursery activities, such as visits to the park, library, playground and lots of time outside playing.

The staff encourage children to make their own choices, encourage polite behaviour by role modelling it. Overall, a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with small groups in smaller rooms. The space is kept spacious while offering age-appropriate toys etc and feels more like a home environment than a busy nursery. Staff and management very open to feedback and go out of their way to accommodate your child´s needs.

Can recommend nursery whole-heartedly.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.973)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.973) out of 10 for Tiny Talkers Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Tiny Talkers Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.056 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tiny Talkers Day Nursery is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 number of registered child places is 9. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.556
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
