My son has been at Rushden Kids Club Ltd since he was 9 months old and has not once complained about being bored or mistreated, he is well looked after and has made a lot of friends. He has been supported through all of his stages of potty training, aggression, understanding of right and wrong and that's
all I can ask for. Very happy.

Since my son has been at this nursery he has had 4 key workers, as he has delayed speech -
this really didn't help him having to get to know new staff. I understand that sometimes the turn around of staff is high but surely this is not great for some children that need extra help. Other than this,
I am really happy with everything.

The change in key people is not a practice that we advocate but during the development of the staff team, it has been unavoidable.
The nursery has the luxury of an inclusion officer who works with…

My daughter has attended Kids Club since she was 2, she is now leaving to start school. My daughter loved being in the 2's room and settled quickly. The staff were attentive and engaging. She struggled when starting preschool though and did not want to go.

Most of the staff are helpful and caring.

However, communication has been bad, my daughter's key worker has changed twice, and both times I was not told. The preschool is big and for a shy child, I feel this has been a bit overwhelming for my daughter, but that is personal preference.
There has been a lot of staff leaving/shuffling and I feel they need to all get on the same page to have stability for the children.

Under new management, the team have been working extremely hard on improving transitions for children. The new procedure involves children moving through to their new room on visits with their key…read more

I have found my two grandchildren very happy and settled on collection. They have had a fun time at Kids Club and the staff are accommodating. My only concern is three-year-olds are put in the under twos room (educational needs not being met).
Reply from Natasha Wain, Manager at Blossoms Day Nursery and The Hive
At no point are three years olds put into the under twos room. Children under two occupy the upstairs baby room and will come down at the end of the day ready for collection at 6 pm. All children are…read more

My child has attended Kids Club from 6 months of age. I was recommended by several parents. I always felt listened to and happy with the service and cost.

Recently, however, there was a lack of communication and warning of price increases due to the Ofsted inspection of inadequate. However, as a

result, parents suffered and this has caused a lot of unnecessary anxiety which has unfortunately impacted on the children - which is not what Ofsted set out to do.
Reply from Natasha Wain, Manager at Blossoms Day Nursery and The Hive
As with all nurseries, fees are reviewed annually and this was communicated with parents via letter giving one months notice. Parental feedback was considered and as a good will gesture for existing…read more

My daughter loves coming to Kids Club. She always settled in both 2's rooms and in pre school, even when off for being poorly. She comes back with no problems, can't fault anything.

My daughter has had a fantastic first year at Kids Club Ltd. She has enjoyed going since day one and due to the fun, friendly environment loves attending every day. The staff are fantastic, I know there have been some big changes at the nursery this year. But they have always put the children first
and make sure each day is as fun filled as the last. My daughter has learnt a lot through play here and is looking forward to returning in September for her last year before starting school.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.103)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.103) out of 10 for Blossoms Day Nursery and The Hive is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Blossoms Day Nursery and The Hive is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.228 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blossoms Day Nursery and The Hive is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 number of registered child places is 19.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 19.4 = 0.103
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
