Established in 2001 The Cottage Day Nursery located in Heanor is the third site to the group and has been offering a one-of-a-kind educational experience to children of varying ages. Both my children have attended The Cottage, and I couldn’t be happier with their time and care for both of them. The staff are always friendly and approachable, keep you informed about their daily activities via the app, and I am always picking up happy children at the end of the day. There are always
new engaging activities each day, which have helped bring on their verbal and physical development. Meals are made fresh and have a wide variety to offer.

My son has been well looked after since joining the nursery in 2022. His confidence with others is growing by the day, along with his education. He loves exploring the different environments and activities with his friends.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. They are happy to answer queries
and provide details from the day.
The app has been very useful and is a big part of our journey through nursery. We find it really useful to see how the day has been and love the picture updates we receive!
However, I've recently experienced an issue with notifications, which both I and the nursery have been unable to resolve.
Overall, I'm really happy with the service, and my son appears to be too. We have had a positive experience and hope this continues.

My daughter has been at the nursery since she was nine months old, and she's now four. I've never had any concerns regarding her care.
They coped brilliantly during the pandemic; they stayed open and followed the Covid rules while still keeping it a fun, calm and loving environment.
They've helped
us raise her into a bright, confident, bubbly, happy little girl. All the staff know her, even if she isn't in their section; if I call, whoever I speak to can tell me how she is and what she's doing.
They keep us informed during the day by using the app and often put photos of her on there of her having fun.
I'd recommend the nursery to anyone; we're so glad that we picked it, we'll be sad when we get to the time to leave and start school.

The Cottage nursery is amazing, with a 5-star review all-round. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
The Cottage has looked after two of my children from 12 months through to school age, with my youngest child currently attending.
Nothing is too much trouble; if I ever have a worry about
my child’s development or feelings that day, they take her under their wing and she always comes out smiling.
I love that they have lots of outdoor play and do so many activities.
The staff are very attentive and professional, and I would have no issues writing personal references for any of them, including the manager.
She always greets my child with a smile every morning without fail, and I honestly think she looks to them as her own little brood.
Care and attention are taken with meals, the home-cooked food smells delicious, and my child enjoys eating with the other children.
The nursery is extremely clean, and always lots of activities set out. Highly recommended!

My son has been attending The Cottage since October 2023. He is thriving in all areas, and the confidence he now has within the community, I strongly believe is due to the work and efforts all the staff put into all the children. All his needs are met, and the app allows us to have the communication
required throughout his days at nursery. He works closely with his key worker who encourages nursery-home play. Bringing sensory and heuristic boxes home for us to engage and understand some of the activities they do. The nursery is clean and well-presented and has a really homely feel to it. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to continue to watch my boy flourish here.

Hello,


My name is Bridget, and I have worked at The Cottage since we opened in 2001, but I worked in childcare previously to this also.


My favourite part of my role has been watching the nursery grow and develop into what it is today. We are extremely lucky to have such hands-on proprietors and a maintenance team on call, allowing us to constantly reinvest into our outstanding provision and maintain the highest of standards. We have an incredibly dedicated staff team who really value the provision but also each and every child and family in their care.


I really look forward to welcoming prospective parents into the setting, where you can really get a feel for the home-from-home environment we provide.
