Treetops Castle Garden is a warm, welcoming fun, safe and educational environment for my daughter. She really enjoys her 2 days per week at nursery and we get excellent feedback on her progress as well as being really well supported by the manager and staff.
We really appreciate the fact that nursery offers extra activities. My daughter lives squash and ballet. Our daughter loves coming here every day and is excited to see the staff and her friends.
I would recommend to anyone with children to use this nursery.
Since starting at Castle Garden nursery at the age of 6 months my daughter has thrived. The nursery has a lovely family feel, the communication and activities provided have been great. The staff are all professional, friendly and have an excellent understanding of how children develop.
My son goes to Castle Garden and he loves it. The staff are all lovely and caring and I've seen many go the extra mile for the children.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Moved key worker to suit my child. Always available to chat if needed.
Lovely welcoming nursery. The staff here are friendly and warm. Nice outside space. My children are very happy.
The staff and management team are always on hand to offer any support required and work in partnership with all of the parents.
The staff always have a smile on their face and are very happy and helpful. The nursery has a very welcoming feel to it, it's open and airy and lots of activities for the children to take part in.
Castle Garden is a lovely, caring and nurturing nursery. Both our children have been very happy there and this is mainly down to the caring staff.
All age groups receive the same care and attention and the development we have seen in our children as a result of them attending nursery has been fantastic.
The manager is outstanding and her commitment is evident.
Staff are quick to work with us on any issues and she is always doing a range of different activities.
She loves being outside and gets a chance to go out most days.
Fantastic nursery. Both of our children enjoy attending. The management team are fabulous. Real thought and effort go into making the experiences of the children happy and engaging as well as leaving good memories for parents. Feedback is welcomed and acted upon. We highly recommend.
I've been really impressed with the care and learning experience provided by The Clever Clogs pre-school room, that my daughter attends three days a week! The staff here have so many creative ideas that relate to the children's interests I.e fairy tale stories, space etc and also help the children to understand the world around them in fun ways. Recently they made Chinese masks, fried Chinese food and are making a dragon costume and dance to mark the Chinese New Year. This is just one example of the numerous enthusiastic ideas that the children here benefit from and I am very grateful.
My daughter has recently left here to start school and she was so well prepared by the nursery, as were we with a school readiness evening, that she has made the transition seamlessly. My son remains here and loves it. The staff are so friendly and caring.
The children are always having fun whenever I drop off or pick up. The variety of activities is great and all with underlying developmental support. The food offering really suits my son and he always eats really well. It's lovely to be able to drop him off guilt free knowing he is genuinely going to be having a great day.
My daughter really enjoys going to the nursery and has developed so much since joining in April 2016. The staff are friendly and caring and I feel my daughter is well looked after. She is able to participate in a variety of activities - outdoor play, messy play, crafts, singing and stories. I am told that she always eats well and enjoys the food served. I feel confident ti leave her there and that she is happy and has lots of fun; I couldn't ask for more.
There is always a range of activities and themes the children work on and dress up days !
Interaction with older and younger children is also great as it teaches the children how to socialise with different age groups.
My daughter also enjoys the dance lessons they have recently been having.
Thank you, Castle Garden !!
The nursery is a great size, being small enough that there aren't lots of children and all the staff know all of them, but it's supported by a national group so generally has good facilities and investment. The manager is good, and the baby room especially is great - the staff were amazing with my little boy and it's open plan so moving to the next room up wasn't too scary! The food is good and I like the daily updates we get, but most importantly my son is very happy there.
Cleanliness appears to be paramount which is good to see, although my child has shared and received many infections/viruses with all staff and childcare since starting in August 2015.
The cook provides vegan food for my child which is brilliant for his dietary needs and social inclusion, however I feel the food could be more varied to include tofu, hummus, grains like couscous etc.- rather than mainly 'cheese' prepared dishes to support his variety of food intake.
Reporting on illnesses that pass around the nursery would be helpful to parents, as I suspect fear of disclosure a present doesn't seem to be necessity by parent and staff.
Very caring staff. Thoughtful and caring towards the children, give good feedback at the end of the day. Flexible in approach. Have formed a strong bond with my child. Child is happy and excited to go to nursery. Provide a positive learning environment - can see child's progress and development. Provide lots of opportunities for outdoor play and a variety of play activities. Were very helpful when it came to potty training.

Hello, I am Katie the Centre Director here at Derby Duffield.
I have been in childcare for over 16 years and have a BA Hons Early Childhood Studies Degree. I have spent over 13 years growing and developing within Busy Bees Nurseries. I have progressed significantly within the company due to the amount of passion and love for quality childcare I have. I first started as a Deputy Manager at our Alton Manor Centre back in 2009, progressing to Centre Director at Matlock Busy Bees and then Centre Director at Derby Duffield.
Aside from my vast professional experience, I have a little girl of my own who attended Busy Bees Nurseries but has just started school in September 2022. I am very proud of my passionate team and am supported by my Assistant Kemma Bestwick who has so far completed over 14 years of service at Busy Bees. Kemma steps up as Centre Director 2 days per week opposite the 3 days per week I work.
Kemma joined Busy Bees Duffield in 2007 as an apprentice and has worked her way up to Assistant Centre Director. Over the years Kemma has worked in all age groups across the Nursery and has a passion for providing our children with the best start in life through creative, educational and exciting learning opportunities.
Kemma has recently completed her Level 2 Makaton training and she is currently embedding this across the nursery with the team.
