My son has been at Townhouse since he was 10 months old. We viewed every nursery locally and Townhouse really stood out compared to the others. It's the staff that really make it what it is. They all show a genuine interest in each child and their development. The handovers and daily diaries really
are superb and the onsite chef really works hard in offering a well-balanced healthy menu each day. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Townhouse and their wonderful team. Thank you.

Our daughter started Townhouse in June 2015 and has had a great experience so far. The daily diaries and daily feedback at the end of each day are great, knowing exactly what has gone on during her time at nursery each day is really reassuring including everything to when she has slept and how much
and what food she has eaten. She really enjoys all the food at nursery and it's lovely to know its all home cooked onsite. The activities completed and outside space are fab and facilities and toys are all very well maintained and looked after. The members of staff are more than happy to help and really listen to your child's individual needs and interests including these in nursery life to create brilliant nursery and home life links. We are happy and confident in the care our daughter receives and would definitely recommend Townhouse.

When I returned to work I was relying on family for childcare, but my daughter was struggling in all areas; confidence, eating, sleeping etc without a stable routine. I'd read Ofsted inspections on Town House and decided that was the nursery for us. Within weeks of joining the preschool my daughter
had transformed into a confident 3 year old and she just keeps making more positive progress as time goes on. The staff are marvellous; professional, knowledgeable and approachable. The facilities and the fun days/weeks they have are brilliant, and you can share in the fun through their Facebook page! Perfect. I highly recommend the nursery to everyone.

I cannot comment enough how brilliant the staff have been with both my children. My little boy has come on in leaps and bounds and continues to improve everyday. My little girl is meeting milestones and learning so quickly. She has had a number of problems since birth and the nursery have not been able
to do enough in order to support both myself and her through each day at nursery, even when we have been absent due to hospital admissions I have always received a call to check how she is. Which I find a lovely part of the personal service they deliver and continue to deliver everyday.
Reply from Janet Williamson, Nursery Mananger at Corner House Nursery Lawton RoadThank you very much for your kind words, it has been wonderful observing both your son and daughter settling and enjoying the activities in their rooms, it has not been easy for you over the past months and we are always happy to support families in any way that will help .

I had just moved into the area and already had a job lined up when I went looking for nursery's for my 19 month old.
I viewed 4 with my son before we came to Townhouse, and this was by far the most welcoming and comfortable nursery.
They accepted him for place very quickly as I was starting work
sooner than I thought. They were very accommodating and helpful in my son's transition which helped settle us into our new home immensely.
I think my boy has enjoyed his time here.

I found it so hard choosing between the two Townhouse nurseries after hearing really good things about both. I chose Lawton Road for the location. My baby boy settled better than I could have hoped. I was a little nervous as he was 6 months old but not once have we had tears! The lovely team welcomed
my boy into the baby room and he absolutely loves it. I am so pleased with everything here and I would recommend it to everyone. They work with me on weaning and to support specific dietary issues. It doesn't matter which staff members you see around nursery- they all say hello and make us both feel welcome. Thanks!

The nursery goes to every effort to ensure children feel settled and happy. They also provide varied, very thoughtful and interesting activities throughout the day. I go to work each morning with peace of mind that my children are safe, happy and with people who are caring and genuinely interested in
them.

I'm the father of my son at Townhouse nursery who has been there for 2 years, I am very very pleased with his progress in all aspects of his education from Townhouse nursery and all the staff which have been responsible for his future role and bringing up and preparing him for his new school. I have
been helped with his role at home and outdoor work and been helped by the management in other roles of his upbringing .

I've been been very pleased with my daughters care at Townhouse. The staff are excellent. She always has a smile on her face at the end of the day and her confidence has grown whilst attending the nursery. I put this all down to the staff and facilities there.
I would not hesitate to recommend Townhouse
to my friends and family.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.286)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.286) out of 10 for Corner House Nursery Lawton Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Corner House Nursery Lawton Road is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.286 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Corner House Nursery Lawton Road is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 number of registered child places is 12.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.4 = 0.161
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
