Nurtured @ Packmoor staff are fully committed to providing a ‘home from home’ environment for children to enjoy. The setting welcomes children from 3 months to 5 years old and aims to provide all children with high-quality care in a warm, safe and friendly environment with a variety of stimulating resources.

The nursery has an enclosed garden with safety flooring and a variety of age-appropriate outdoor resources. The nursery also has a CCTV system installed throughout the premises.

The staff follow the 'early years foundation' stage framework to support early learning experiences, and this is backed up with lots of practical hands-on activities for children in all age groups.

However, they are about more than just covering the curriculum; it’s about teaching children to share experiences and building confidence.

Staff hold appropriate early years qualifications which give children the care and inspiration needed to thrive in a rich and fun learning environment.

The nursery cook prepares freshly cooked meals on the premises daily. Individual dietary needs are also catered for.

All staff are trained in paediatric first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding, manual handling as well as plenty of other ongoing training to support the delivery of the 'early years foundation stage'. This ensures that parents have peace of mind when leaving children in the nursery. The nursery also participates in the 'Stoke speaks out', communication and language screening program.

The nursery has strong partnerships with parents and staff keep parents updated about each child's day on a daily basis.

Funded places are available for 2, 3 and 4 year old’s.

Abacus will provide all children with the opportunity to make friends and gain the confidence to make the move up into the first year at school and beyond.

My little girl loves coming to nursery and loves all of the staff who care for her. She was such a shy little girl but they have given her so much confidence. Her speech and language ability is great and she is so very polite. The staff are all fabulous and work so hard to make sure the children are
safe and happy. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone with little ones.

My daughter loves attending Abacus Day Nursery and has made a lot of friends there, most of the staff are brilliant, particularly three of them. I would highly recommend Abacus Day Nursery to all my friends and family who have kids in the future and need a nursery for them to attend during the day.

Our little one loves coming to nursery. Since the start, the room supervisor has done her upmost to integrate him into nursery life, she has support us as parents on a journey of uncertainty due to the pandemic and has given us regular updates in regards to our child's progression. The room staff are
very friendly and welcoming. They all know the children regardless of which room they are assigned too and many even recognise the parents upon collection. The nursery have done a fantastic job during the pandemic and have kept our children safe. I truly believe that if it wasn't for my child attending such a lovely nursery that his social skills would be suffering somewhat more than they are because of the pandemic. I can't praise the girls in my child's room enough and seeing photos of them engaging and learning lots of varied things on a weekly basis really fills me with happiness and reassurance that we choose the best nursery around.

I am very happy and satisfied that I have chosen this nursery for my son. There is fantastic, caring staff always ready for help and very friendly. My son has a lot of fun and has made lovely friendships with other children. He is always happy go to nursery. Children have big opportunities to develop
and try a lot of things, even if it comes with a mess. Many creative activities in there.

We'd heard lots of positive things about Abacus Day Nursery, and when we went to look round we knew instantly that was where we wanted to send our daughter. From the first moment we visited, we were made to feel so welcome and we loved the "home from home" environment and the friendliness and warmth
of the staff. All our questions were answered and nothing has ever been too much trouble for the staff. Communication from the nursery is excellent. Our daughter started in September and has settled in brilliantly. Choosing a nursery was such an important decision but we couldn't be happier with our choice, many thanks to all the staff at Abacus!

I was really nervous to start to return back to work with my little girl only being six months old. Abacus nursery staff were amazing there induction process reassured me and took away my huge mummy guilt. My little girl loves attending the nursery three days per week. The staff are all very friendly
and the overall welcoming feel of the nursery is amazing. The staff go above and beyond and work super hard to ensure that my little girl is safe, well looked after and happy. I can't thank the nursery enough. I really wouldn't send my little girl anywhere else. Thank you.

I would not hesitate in recommending Abacus to anybody. All of the staff make the most amazing team and are always so friendly and helpful. The nursery itself is a lovely home from home environment with large rooms, lots of toys, resources, not to mention the most amazing home-cooked meals every day.
My little boy has attended abacus from 7 months old and his development has flourished since then. We receive updates every day as to meals eaten, activities, sleep and general 'mood' which is so reassuring as a parent.

My son has been attending Abacus for two days a week for nearly a year now. He absolutely loves it and recently hasn’t even wanted to come home once there! He eats so much better at nursery and the food is always varied from day-to-day. All the staff are really lovely and nothing is too much trouble.

When we first went looking at nurseries for our daughter, Abacus Day Nursery was the first one of a few we saw and straight away we both fell in love with the place. We both felt comfortable, secure and we knew that was the one we wanted our daughter to go to. All the staff are very friendly, polite
and welcoming. I love the daily sheet I have from them to tell me how her day has been from what shes had to eat, nap times (and duration) to nappy changes and much more. As a new parent dropping her off it is very scary when you take them nursery for the first time and leaving them, but I was very reassured and very happy with how she is getting on. I would definitely recommend this nursery to friends with babies.

The nursery is absolutely fantastic and since my child has attended the setting, has come on leaps and bounds. My child has been attending Abacus for almost 2 years now and enjoys the times when they get to go to nursery. The staff at the nursery are very professional and always listen to what you have
to say and are very supportive, regarding any concerns that you may have. I have never met a friendlier set of staff to look after my child and the relationships that they build with the children are evident. My child always tells me how much they miss nursery when they aren’t there and how much they are looking forward to going back. Abacus is a really friendly setting where children are able to successfully develop and achieve consistently high expectations. The support here is evident and in particular, as a first-time parent, I wouldn’t have wanted to send my child to anywhere else. Highly recommended nursery!

My daughter has only been at the nursery for a short time but she thoroughly enjoys it. Each morning she can't wait to go and always has a smile on her face - when she goes into nursery and when she comes out.
The staff are very friendly, polite and always willing to help. They make time to speak
to parents whether that is in person, on the phone or via email and if you send an email they reply very quickly.
My daughter has made friends very quickly there, built on existing skills and developed new ones and is having a fantastic time.

Words cannot describe how excellent the nursery is, we are so disheartened that our daughter has to leave soon. From start to finish the nursery has been amazing. They have taught our daughter so much. All the staff have so much compassion and love for the children and really have their best interests
at heart. There’s always a warm welcome and the setting feels extremely safe. The communication is second to none. We love to see photos and hear about daughter's day. She settled in from day one and that’s due to all the lovely staff. They’ve taught our daughter things we wouldn’t have ever thought of at home - one being CPR at the age of 2! They’ve been so supportive through COVID-19 pandemic and reacted perfectly to ensure everyone’s safety. I can’t praise the nursery enough, 12 years ago our eldest attended and the staff still remembered - if that’s not a personal touch I don’t know what is. Thank you to each and everyone who has looked after both of our girls.

My son has flourished at Abacus, he runs in every morning so excited to see all the ladies and his friends. Even after months away due to lockdown, he settled straight back in without any issues and it's only a credit to the fantastic job all the staff at Abacus do.

Everyone at Abacus Nursery has been fantastic, they have kept us informed as the nursery has been closed via email and have also answered any questions I have had throughout the lockdown. A manager, in particular, has been excellent. I know the children feel safe and are always excited about going.
I really appreciated the email from the member of staff that gave the children and us as parents ideas to keep them occupied during lockdown.
I was worried about the children going back, but I believe it was the best thing for them as they have loved being back. I can’t recommend enough.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.920)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.920) out of 10 for Nurtured @ Packmoor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.920 for Nurtured @ Packmoor is calculated as follows: ( (266 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 286 Ratings = 4.92
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nurtured @ Packmoor is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
