Nurtured @ Packmoor staff are fully committed to providing a ‘home from home’ environment for children to enjoy. The setting welcomes children from 3 months to 5 years old and aims to provide all children with high-quality care in a warm, safe and friendly environment with a variety of stimulating resources.

The nursery has an enclosed garden with safety flooring and a variety of age-appropriate outdoor resources. The nursery also has a CCTV system installed throughout the premises.

The staff follow the 'early years foundation' stage framework to support early learning experiences, and this is backed up with lots of practical hands-on activities for children in all age groups.

However, they are about more than just covering the curriculum; it’s about teaching children to share experiences and building confidence.

Staff hold appropriate early years qualifications which give children the care and inspiration needed to thrive in a rich and fun learning environment.

The nursery cook prepares freshly cooked meals on the premises daily. Individual dietary needs are also catered for.

All staff are trained in paediatric first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding, manual handling as well as plenty of other ongoing training to support the delivery of the 'early years foundation stage'. This ensures that parents have peace of mind when leaving children in the nursery. The nursery also participates in the 'Stoke speaks out', communication and language screening program.

The nursery has strong partnerships with parents and staff keep parents updated about each child's day on a daily basis.

Funded places are available for 2, 3 and 4 year old’s.

Abacus will provide all children with the opportunity to make friends and gain the confidence to make the move up into the first year at school and beyond.

I just want to say a huge thank you to every member of staff at Abacus. Our little boy's experience of his first-ever setting has been the best we could have hoped for and it is all down to the incredible staff.
I was so anxious about him starting this journey but even through the challenging times
of him getting upset I always felt so reassured that he was in the best hands. He now goes in with a big smile on his face and enjoys every moment of his time there. A special mention to the ladies in the stars room who have been nothing but exceptional. I honestly can't thank you enough and would recommend Abacus to anyone!

My daughter has attended this nursery for close to 2 years now, we have always been happy with her care, in particular as she has a medical condition. The curriculum itself and activities provided have improved massively over the past 6 months and our daughter is showing great progress. All the staff
are friendly and professional. My second child will be joining shortly and we look forward to many more years with Abacus.
The current management goes above and beyond to ensure the whole nursery is run to the best standard and that the parents and children are happy. Thank you so much for your hard work and care.

Our boy has been going to Abacus for 18 months now, this has been the best decision we have made. His vocabulary and social skills have improved no end. He enjoys going and drop-offs aren’t a big drama due to how safe secure and happy the team there have made him feel. The array of activities and time
invested into the children is a credit to the nursery and the staff who provide and work with the children daily. Communication from the office is spot on. If we decide to have another child, Abacus will be top of our list of nurseries to go.

We travel from out of the area to bring our second child to Abacus after our experience with our first child attending was so wonderful. The staff at Abacus are caring and professional and have the children's best interests at heart. Over the past 4 years, we have been pleased to see continuous improvement

My little girl likes coming to Abacus and has bonded well with the other children. I do however have to point out that standards seem to be dropping and the staff turnover is concerning in a nursery environment. It is a good nursery overall but I would like to see improvements as it could be better.

With regards to the staff turnover, this is due to approximately 25% of our staff team taking maternity leave in a very short period of time with only one member of staff leaving for a career change. This has meant that we have a number of new staff members join our team who have settled into the nursery very well.

My little girl started at Abacus Day Nursery around 6 months ago, she absolutely loves going to Nursey she can’t get through the door quick enough in the morning. Her speech and development has been amazing since starting. All the staff are so lovely and always happy to help.

Staff are constantly trying to help my daughter thrive in all aspects. Supporting me and her with potty training especially. Always contact if any issues or if she is acting out of character etc. Always able to call to check in and have the parent portal for updates if unable to call.

My child is happy to attend Abacus. They are provided with many different experiences and encouraged to try new things. The staff are polite and will explain in more detail about the tasks my child has taken part in if asked. Any concerns are dealt with as soon as possible.

My 3-year-old boy has attended the nursery since January 2022 and since he has joined his development has massively improved. The staff are warm and friendly and always takes time to inform us how his day has been. Lovely and clean inside and lots of activities for children to do. Highly recommended.

My child started here in September and he absolutely loves it. It only took him a week to settle in which I was surprised yet relieved about. He has come on so much since being there. The staff are very welcoming and always so lovely with him. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

My 2-year-old boy started in March 2021, he really struggled at first, mostly because of lockdown and all the restrictions and his world had just been us and our home. The staff have been fantastic with him and have really contributed in building his confidence and really bringing him out of his shell.
He really is a different child from what he was back in March. He loves going, loves the staff and the activities he takes part in and loves the food so much, he usually has 2 helpings! Haha. Highly recommended!

My little boy loves going to nursery! Without fail he runs out the door with a smile on his face every time I pick him up. I feel my child is safe and in good hands and feel at ease leaving him there whilst I go to work. My son has developed so much going to Abacus especially with his talking! I find
it great that he’s learning as well as having fun. The nursery emails you with any updates and newsletters of the month with any topics that the children will be learning, which I love to read and find out what their room will be up to. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough and definitely wouldn’t want my little boy to go anywhere else! Thank you Abacus for continuing to take care of my boy.

My daughter loves going to nursery and gets very excited to go, she loves her teachers and has lots of fun. She is vegetarian, which was a worry for me initially but has been no problem as she is given a variety of nice food. My daughter is thriving at Abacus Day Nursery and is always learning something
new and is very happy.

My little boy has attended this nursery since 3 months old, he’s now nearly 2 and is way ahead of his friends who don’t attend nursery and it’s all down to the staff for their encouragement and welcoming nature to all of the children. Big thanks to the staff! He even talks about them at home and looks
forward to seeing them. I would 100% recommend this nursery to everyone, it’s fantastic, especially throughout the pandemic when we were kept updated regularly via email and parents evenings were held virtually. The staff are also very helpful and accommodating where possible. Thank you.
