Kids Planet Rugely in Staffordshire is open to care for children Monday to Friday 7:30am till 6:00pm - 52 weeks of the year.

The nursery first opened in 1997, and is a setting where children can grow in confidence, be more independent, develop skills and learn how to interact with other children while enjoying exciting activities.

The nursery has a long standing team, low staff turnover, and highly experienced, supportive and caring staff who work with parents to understand each child's needs and interests.

There is an on onsite sports coach, yoga instructor and outdoor leads who have gained an outdoor accreditation for the Udeskole approach which brings play back to nature.

The nursery also has an on-site, qualified chef. Fresh fruit is provided every day. Menu plans vary each season reflecting diverse cultures. No matter what your child’s dietary requirements, they all eat delicious, healthy and balanced meals.

The staff have all been brilliant with my son. They made his transition so smooth and are so nurturing towards him. He had only been away from me around 5 times before starting but they helped him to settle so quickly.
The care that he has been given from staff has been more than I could have asked
for. Two members of staff have both offered me advice on my sons' development, with weaning and sleeping which I've really appreciated. The team provide lots of exciting planned activities for my son as well as letting him choose resources freely from an age appropriate environment.
The menu is varied and amazing! I'm so happy that my son gets to try all different foods whilst at nursery!


The manager is fantastic, she is caring, empathetic and easily approachable. She has an amazing understanding of early childhood development and is clearly passionate about making sure the children have lots of opportunities to explore and develop in all areas of learning.

Horn End Nursery is by far the best we have in our area, my son attends for 4 days a week and never ever complains about having to go. The team are a phenomenal group who have become part of the family and turn over is commendably low.
Their commitment to children’s learning in a fun and caring environment
is outstanding and evidence to support their progress and outcomes is robust. Communication with families is so important and even during covid times, when we as parents were unable to enter the building, they adapted immediately to ensure our level of communication was not compromised.
Horn End have been part of our family since 2011 when we had our first child, I have never had a single concern during this time, after having our second child, Nursery options was not even a worry for me, Horn End was our only choice and I ensured I had his place secured at the earliest opportunity as the thought of not being able to secure a place for him there filled me with dread.

Both my boys love coming to nursery, they are both in full time. My oldest loves Zumba and the Spanish class. They have come on leaps and bounds since starting at Horn End Nursery - Rugeley. They have lots of outdoor play and are always learning different things. Staff are easy to talk to and are always
there, I find them very supportive. They give you lots of information and photos on your child's day at nursery via the app. I would highly recommend Horn End Nursery - Rugeley to anyone looking for a nursery in this area.

Amy Carroll

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2002

I have been working at this nursery since 2002. I started here as a student on placement, became cover staff, then a team member, progressing to Room Leader and then in 2011 I became Nursery Manager. Throughout this time, I studied to gain my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies.


I have two children of my own, both girls who have both attended this nursery with me.
I am lucky to have a long-standing supportive team whom I have worked with for a really long time.
