Dosthill Nursery & Preschool, rated Outstanding by Ofsted (July 2017), has carefully planned rooms as well as a large outdoor area and 3 free flow covered areas for children and babies to access during the day so children can learn in a variety of environments to promote creativity and curiosity.

There is also an onsite Forest School garden which all children access during the week.

Each room has a variety of fun extra curriculum activity programmes to give all children new and exciting experiences.

Staff at Footsteps Day Nursery are committed to ensuring each child can learn and develop in a safe and stimulating environment.

Footsteps are dedicated to letting child led-play dictate what happens throughout the day, with children given many opportunities to flourish during their time at the nursery.

All of the staff have been both friendly and kind to me and my son while he has recently settled in. They have made the transition back to work and childcare much easier than I thought it would be. They are observant and professional in spotting changes in health, behaviors and routines. They have given
my son experiences and care that have enriched his life, rather than imply looking after him while I'm at work. The food is great, the environment is great - I can't fault any of it. I've already recommended them to other mums I know!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
This is by far the best nursery in Tamworth. My little boy is so happy there and loves the staff as much as he loves his family.
He goes twice a week, and took him about a month to settle in properly.
He has developed into a very confident, independent child, and that is down to the nursery.

Samantha Randall

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2002

Hello, my name is Samantha, I have been a Nursery Manager since 1998 and I joined Footsteps at the beginning of August 2002 and have been the Nursery Manager at Dosthill since when we first opened our doors to families.


I hold a level 3 diploma in childcare, and I have also completed my level 4 in management. I am passionate about childcare and have been with the nursery for a long time. I have built a strong bond with my setting, my team, the local community, and the families that use our services, I take great pride in being a part of each child’s growth and development as they progress and achieve during their time with us at nursery until eventually, they graduate on to their further education at school.


Here at Dosthill, we ensure every child’s individual needs are met and support their growth and development with the tools they need to succeed. Our nursery offers a comforting home-from-home environment, and our facilities give children unique opportunities that enhance their experiences and support their individual achievements and milestones.


Our fantastic team provide a varied range of rich and stimulating activities based on the core areas of learning and by incorporating the children’s keen interests our child-led activities naturally encourage children to be engaged every day.

Hello, my name is Rachael, I have been a Deputy Manager since 2003 and I started my journey at Footsteps at our Lichfield Road Nursery in 2009. In 2020 I joined the team here at Dosthill Nursery.


I hold a Foundation Degree and working with children has always been my passion, I have experience working with children of all age groups within Early Years and it’s an absolute pleasure, to see them grow and develop throughout their years with us.


At Footsteps we remain one step ahead in childcare and our nursery actively promotes change and new and exciting ways to fulfil our family’s needs, exceeding their requirements.


Our fantastic team ensure that high exceptions are met every day and that each day children spend with us is full of awe and wonder.
