Rated 'Outstanding' by the ISI (October 2021), Edenhurst Nursery caters for children from the age of three months to four-years-old, offering the highest quality care in a safe, engaging and nurturing environment.

Qualified, friendly staff are dedicated to providing each child with all the support and encouragement they need to learn and grow.

Children benefit from five different rooms which have all been set up to offer a stimulating learning environment, with plenty of space to play as well as dining areas, where children enjoy nutritionally balanced, home-cooked lunches, made by their on-site catering team.

Extended days and all-year-round care are available and the team at the nursery work alongside parents and families to ensure that personal routines, diets and preferences are always factored in to daily practice.

When a child first joins the nursery, their first visit typically lasts for around an hour. Parents are welcome to stay with their child and ask any questions they may have. Following this, the team will set up longer visits until children are happy staying at the nursery for a full day.

Edenhurst Nursery children are given preference for a place in the school's reception class, starting the September after their fourth birthday.

My daughter absolutely loves the nursery. She's made brilliant progress whilst she has been there. I'm kept updated every day on what she's done that day and weekly on what she's learning the following week. We get regular reviews of her progress against the EYFS curriculum. An outstanding nursery with
caring, friendly, compassionate and professional staff who are helping my child become a confident, happy and clever little girl.

We are very satisfied with the level of service we have received by Edenhurst. We really would recommend sending children to this nursery. Both our children have attended and we feel they benefited from this when they started school.

The nursery have always been accommodating and flexible when our

working hours have changed. The staff are always pleasant and seem to have the child's best intentions in their hearts.

My daughter joined Edenhurst Nursery in October 2016 at 18 months old having previously attended a different nursery. Despite me being extremely anxious about moving her, she has settled in extremely well and loves her new friends and carers. The Nursery is modern and purpose built, and has a lovely
outdoor play area. It is also relatively small, so my daughter gets lots of 1-2-1 attention and I really like that the Nursery emails parents every Friday afternoon with a weekly planner which shows what activities she will be doing the following week. The staff are all lovely and knowing my daughter is being well loved after while I am at work gives me great peace of mind. I'd highly recommend the Nursery to anyone looking for a caring, friendly and educational setting for their child.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.181)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.181) out of 10 for Edenhurst Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.906 for Edenhurst Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.906
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.275 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Edenhurst Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 number of registered child places is 12.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.8 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
