Building Blocks Nursery in Handsworth Wood provides care and support to children in a nursery which is bright and spacious.

Building Blocks Nursery in Handsworth Wood supports children aged three months to five-years-old, providing facilities, such as bathrooms, disabled bathrooms, a nursery kitchen which provides meals, snacks and drinkings throughout the nursery day and can cater for any special dietary requirements.

The nursery has its own outdoor play area with a secure garden where children can play, explore and climb. Children are also encouraged to grow plants, flowers and vegetables in their own garden area.

Our daughter has attended this nursery for a few months and we have noticed a positive change in her development.
Staff are always friendly, especially two members who reassured us our daughter is happy and safe. I am also happy with activities undertaken which positively engage our daughter.

My son attended Building Blocks for a little over 18 months. I chose them because of the location on the site of his siblings' school and he settled in really quickly and loved it, especially the friendly and supportive staff. During this time we referred him to be assessed for a communication delay.
The nursery immediately put us in touch with their SENCO, who couldn't be more helpful and went above and beyond the remit of a day nursery in this matter. This continued even though the SENCO moved on and was replaced with another absolute gem. Everyone in the nursery supported my son to such a degree that he was able to transition to main school nursery so quickly that we were able to cancel all of the contingency plans (which the nursery committed to even though they didn't have to) to extend his stay if he didn't settle. This was an absolute triumph for a child who had recently had a diagnosis of Autism. This I think is a testament to the great effort and skills of the nursery staff.

It was extremely easy to arrange a viewing when looking for a new nursery for our son. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and the settle in sessions were easy to arrange.


Our son has settled in really well and doesn’t cry at drop off any more which we think is a great sign. He seems really

happy and this is very reassuring as a parent.


The staff are always very thorough with feedback and flexible around his needs. We would be happy to recommend them based on our positive experience here.

We are so happy with this nursery.
My daughter loves coming to nursery.
The staff are very warm and welcoming, informative on any changes and give feedback on the child for the day.
I've seen a big difference in my daughter since she started in the Tweenies room.
She has really come out of her shell
since she started preschool.
Would really recommend Building Blocks - Handsworth Wood - it's fab.

My daughter really enjoys her time at Building Blocks Nursery - Handsworth Wood. The staff are friendly and helpful. My daughter always has a big smile for her key worker which is great. The environment is clean and welcoming. The information given at handover is always detailed and the staff have been
responsive to any requests I have had. I am really thankful to Building Blocks for making my return to work and my daughter's start at nursery as smooth as possible.

The nursery is very good and the staff is very engaging with the child. They provide various activities and encourage the children to take part at their own pace. All my kids have gone there (oldest is now 10!) They have helped me get rid of dummies and potty train my kids. I find them very helpful
and my kids loved being at nursery.

My children enjoy going to nursery which makes me feel good about leaving them to go to work. Always felt the staff enjoy being there and they genuinely care for my children. I also like that they have a qualified teacher in pre-school.

As the Managing Director, I work full time to oversee all three of the Building Blocks Nursery branches and work closely with the branch managers.
I have worked in private daycare for over 27 years and feel passionately about ensuring the service we provide is of a high quality. I have my NNEB diploma and a degree in early years childhood studies. I also have my level 5 management qualification.

Hello, I am the nursery manager and I am responsible for the day to day running of the Handsworth Wood branch. I have worked for Building Blocks Nursery for 14 years and have been the branch manager for 4 years.
I have my NVQ level 3 in early years and my NVQ level 5 in management and I keep myself up to date with training.
I pride myself on developing positive relationships with parents, children and staff.
