Little Trees Day Nursery Tutshill is passionate about early childhood education. They appreciate the unique needs of every child and offer a flexible learning environment that celebrates the many stages of children's development.

They are a modern, purpose-built nursery with bright and open learning environments and large outdoor areas. The nursery benefits from the fantastic facilities of an independent school, including the sports halls. The curriculum is complemented with a number of extra-curricular clubs, which include Physical Literacy and Dance/Ballet classes.

The Nursery holds a number of events throughout the year, such as Christmas concerts, graduation ceremonies, sports events and many more. Parents are welcomed into the nursery throughout the year and are kept up to date with their children's learning and development through online learning journals.

The large grounds surrounding the nursery ensure that children have plenty of space to be active outdoors and get lots of fresh air. Large, grassy areas are the perfect spots for running around, parachute play and group games. Secluded woodland areas are great for exploring nature, wildlife and den building. The gardening area is ideal for getting muddy, growing and harvesting plants, herbs and vegetables.

My 20-month-old son is very happy at Hedgehogs - it is evident because he doesn't even turn around to wave goodbye at drop-offs anymore. His face lights up, he grabs his bag and off he goes! This gives me confidence that the staff are looking after him well and keep him entertained.
I particularly
love watching videos or seeing the pictures of what they get up to. It gives us parents reassurance that the nursery is committed to providing good care and a stimulating environment to my son. He comes home tired but always with new skills and when I unpack his bags, the muddy clothes indicate that he's had lots of fun outside - we chose Hedgehogs because of the outside space which is plentiful.
Well done to all the girls working there and thank you for your commitment to providing a balanced educational and play opportunities to our children.

My daughter has gone up through the nursery from the baby room to preschool and she absolutely loves her time here, the staff from the people in her room all the way up to management are always very polite and are extremely approachable if I have questions to ask. Such a wonderful nursery, I'm sure
my little will miss them all when she goes off to school.

Hedgehogs is such a wonderful nursery. My daughter is 20 months and has been attending since she was 13 months old. She absolutely loves her time at nursery and is so excited when I drop her off each morning. The staff are so friendly and caring, I know she is well taken care of. The parents' app they
use is brilliant for providing updates throughout the day and gives me peace of mind that everything is OK. The staff organise lots of varied and interesting activities for the children and they spend a lot of time outdoors, as the grounds are excellent. The management team are also brilliant and are very accommodating if I need to add extra days. The care provided at Hedgehogs really is fantastic and I can’t rate them highly enough.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. My son started at 20 months (only 2 mornings a week) and settled so quickly, which is all thanks to the staff. They are absolutely amazing, even during the current pandemic they have done everything to keep children and parents safe and happy. So many activities to participate
in and outdoor spaces for him to explore. I have noticed so much change in my son in the 4 months he's been attending. The main ones being his speech and confidence. I cannot praise everyone enough. They truly are amazing.

Our son is now 20-months-old. He started at Hedgehogs when he was around 9-months-old. I can't praise the nursery enough, particularly recently having managed the Coronovirus situation. Management has communicated fantastically and been very supportive of parents. During the period where children weren't
able to attend nursery, they kept in touch with us via the app to ensure we still had a connection to the nursery. Staff uploaded messages, videos and resources.
After three months off, I thought my son would find it difficult to return, but our experience was quite the opposite; he couldn't wait to get back and now strolls in each morning he attends, very eager to see his friends and the staff. He is always happy, and we know he is so well looked after. I cannot praise the staff and set up enough.
The app is brilliant. I can see how my son is getting on through the day; how he has eaten and slept and the activities he's been doing. It means I can work knowing he is happy.

Both of my little boys have attended Hedgehogs Nursery. My eldest son is now in primary school and absolutely thrived whilst at nursery, particularly within the pre-school room where he was exceptionally well prepared for the transition to school by the pre-school staff. The extracurricular activities
on offer are fantastic - yoga, music, French to name a few. We received brilliant support and can’t thank them enough.
My youngest son (age 2) has attended since he was 7 months old and loves nursery! He’s formed some beautiful bonds with his carers. The setting is lovely; warm and welcoming with tons of outdoor space for outside play which is very important for us as parents. Staff and management are supportive and communicative and, in particular, have handled the current COVID crisis impeccably. My little one is safe, stimulated, cared for and happy and I’ve no hesitation in recommending the nursery.

My boys joined the nursery when their current one shut due to Covid-19.
They have made me and my boys feel so welcomed under the current circumstances and really put my mind at ease. The boys are so happy in the nursery.

My little one has been attending Hedgehogs for some time now, with great success, there have been some bumps in the road, but all dealt with with professionalism and support, to ultimately build my little one into the confident little man he is today. This has been particularly noted during the Covid-19
pandemic as there have been a constant stream of changes to protect all involved. My little one has been attending for the majority as I am a keyworker, but he has taken all the changes in his stride, due to the support of the staff and communication to all parents and children, throughout. He is thriving and changing constantly, and that's down to the staff supporting appropriately during these times. He loves being back with his friends too! Thanks Hedgehogs for all your help and continued support of both our little one and us as parents, and for your great information sharing throughout and continuing.

My son has been in Hedgehogs for over two years now and although it hasn’t always been perfect I really feel it’s doing brilliantly at the moment. I’m very happy with the new(ish) manager and feel the nursery is a much happier and more nurturing place now. The facilities have always been brilliant because
it shares the grounds with the school (so masses of outside space, sports hall and swimming for older children).
The way they have dealt with Covid has been particularly impressive. The emotional impact on children and their families has been properly considered and the staff have gone to incredible lengths to ensure children are as safe as they can be while still enjoying playing and learning with their buddies. Communication has been good too, no small feat considering the confusion with rules, etc.

We are so happy with Hedgehogs. I visited a number of nurseries in the surrounding areas before seeing Hedgehogs and when I did I knew instantly it was the perfect environment for my toddler. It is spacious, has experienced carers, brilliant management vision, an amazing variety of activities and excellent
food variations for all meals. We are always kept informed as parents and the use of Tapestry is great as we can see what our little one gets up to each day. He is always happy when we pick him up and it is clear that he has been well cared for by people with a genuine interest in the children's development and well-being.

My eldest has been attending since he was 11 months old and my youngest has just started. They both absolutely adore their time at Hedgehogs. The range of activities is so broad from soft play, reading to outdoor play and everything in between, keeping my energetic children entertained from start to
finish.
The staff are so engaging and friendly and have formed fantastic relationships with both my children.

We are very happy with the care and development our daughter receives at Hedgehogs. The staff are very professional and know our daughter well. It's small enough to be personal but has the benefit of using the facilities of the school.

My little boy had been going to the nursery since he was 9 months old. He is now 3. He has so much fun there and adores the staff who are amazing. The nursery is set on amazing grounds and has a fantastic aura about it. I never have to worry about him on the days he goes in. He has made some amazing
friends and one big rainbow family.
He has really grown with all the educational and fun things they do. The nursery manager is always on hand to help and does an outstanding job. They are always investing in new resources and toys making it current and fun for the kids. The girls really look after the children with lots of care and cuddles available. Highly recommend and long may it continue.

Both of our children attend Hedgehogs on a full-time basis. They are extremely well cared for and it is clear that they are very happy (there are never tears at drop-off)!
Re pre-school, the days are well structured with variety on a day to basis - a great transition to school. The range of extra-curricular

Good nursery especially for pre-school age due to being on school grounds. Children are kept occupied all day long. Good setting in the nursery for different age groups. The only fault I have is the detail on nursery invoices. Poor invoice details and you will have to figure out each month how it's
calculated. Have fed back to nursery few times but accounts have not taken parents complaints about the invoice into considerations. This is a long-standing issue (3.5 years in my case).

Welcome!


My name is Vicki and I am the Deputy Manager here at Little Trees Tutshill.


I started my journey in Early Years in 2011 after completing a degree in Primary Teaching at the University. Since then, I have progressed within different settings from Nursery Assistant to Team Leader and to Deputy Manager.


Working in childcare is extremely rewarding. What I enjoy most about my job is building strong relationships with both the children and the parents, in order to support the children on their journey to reach their full potential, before they go to School.


Our mission here at Little Trees is simple: to create a loving, nurturing and safe environment where every child feels cherished and supported, enabling unique talents to blossom and thrive.


The name Little Trees embodies our philosophy. Just like young trees, we aim to give all our children deep roots, fostering a sense of security and belonging, while also encouraging them to reach for the sky with their branches, by exploring, learning and growing each day.


Every child is unique, and our nursery offers a relaxed, safe and structured atmosphere, where children are provided with a plethora of experiences and wonderful opportunities, allowing them to hone their skills and understand their individual passions.


To support me here at Little Trees Tutshill, I have a highly qualified and experienced team. My team are dedicated to giving young children the care and attention they need to aid their social, emotional and intellectual development. Our nursery workers are up to Level 5 qualified in Childcare and Education, with some currently working towards or beyond this qualification. We also have three Primary Teachers working within our team, myself included. Dean Close Little Trees offer training and continued professional development to all employees, supporting them in progressing within their career and helping to develop each staff member's understanding and skills in key areas of childcare, including Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and children's development.


Here at Little Trees Tutshill, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. Our employees undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service before starting their employment with us. Once recruited, each member of staff is trained in Child Protection and First Aid, giving you added peace of mind.
