I cannot fault this nursery. It's a wonderful place for my daughter. She absolutely loves it. All the staff are very approachable and so much thought goes into the activities my daughter does every day to help with her development. I highly recommend this nursery lovely place.

I was very apprehensive about my son starting nursery but could not be happier with Falkins nursery. The staff are happy, friendly and go out of their way to make sure each child is happy. The activities the children do are fantastic and everything is very well organised. Potty training was made very easy with the help of the nursery staff. They remained positive and helped make the transition into pants so much easier than I anticipated. A huge thanks to a 5-star nursery.

My son has thrived at Filkins. I love how the staff base activities and learning on children's interests. The extra-curricular activities such as French, forest school and Tatty Bumpkin (yoga) are fantastic and I'm constantly amazed by how much French my son knows already. His days are always fun-filled and his key-worker works hard on certain areas of his development. I would definitely recommend this nursery to others.

My daughter has been coming to this nursery for just over 1 year and I absolutely love the place. All staff are so caring and educational needs are clearly met. The privacy setting in the village is beautiful and so secure. Parents are invited to so many activities on at the nursery and the Tapestry is an amazing way for myself and family to get an insight as to my daughters daily/weekly activities and achievements. I absolutely love the place.

My son is now in his second and final year at Filkins and although he is looking forward to 'big school', he is already concerned about leaving his teachers behind. There is only one aspect of nursery that he doesn't look forward to and that is 'rest time' which is something that I have asked that the teachers enforce.

He loves that variety of activities and has even learned to sit still! The staff are excellent and take great care of all of the children in their charge. We have been most fortunate to find such a wonderful nursery and will be sad this summer to leave.

Well done Filkins!

A warm, welcoming nursery that pays attention to the individual needs of each child and encourages learning through fun and wide-ranging activities. Forest school walks to nearby woods, themed activities and story time are my son's favourites! Parents receive a friendly welcome when dropping off or collecting, and all staff take interest in the children. The only small downside is a lack of a kitchen to provide hot food.

I am very happy with how well my son has adapted into Filkins Nursery. This is due to the outstanding work and effort the staff have put into him to allow him the time to settle in. He has grown and developed so many new skills in the short time he has been attending nursery. The staff are friendly and keep us well informed of any progress or areas they see improvement could be made with the children's development. I would highly recommend the nursery to friends and family, and when my daughter is old enough, I would like her to start her learning journey at Filkins Nursery.

As an early years teacher myself, I cannot find a single reason to be anything but 'over the moon' with everything that Filkins Nursery is and does. My daughter loves every minute there!

Thank you to all who make it such a wonderful place to play and learn.

Our daughter started at Filkins nursery just after her 2nd birthday and started school this September. I have posted reviews before praising the exceptional care, nurturing and teaching, tailored to each individual child, which gradually brought her out of her shell and gave her such a brilliant start. We were concerned that her lack of social confidence would make starting school a painful process, but the staff work so carefully with the children to prepare them that this hasn't been an issue. Social preparation for school seems gently stepped up in the summer term, and teachers from the local schools visit to see both parents and children. I have just had our "first month in" meeting with her class teacher, and was astounded to hear she now regularly leads playtime! The teacher was full of praise for how well Filkins had prepared her for school, and the quality of its handover. She can't wait to go back as a 'big girl' for half term holiday club.

My son joined Filkins nursery 18 months ago and has had the happiest time there. He has had great mentors encouraging and leading him to learn to make his own choices, be confident and aware and inclusive of others. We have been delighted with the care given.

This is an outstanding nursery. We used Filkins holiday care for a week in July 2016. We were in the UK holidaying and visiting family and hoped to find some suitable daycare for our 4 year old daughter so we could explore the area. We couldn't have had a warmer welcome. The staff are exceptional...all of them. Our daughter had an amazing week, playing with kids, exploring the garden, playing with chickens, quail, guinea pigs, decorating pebbles, making picture frames and having a ball. She didn't want to leave a the end of the day. Filkins doesn't fully cater for the kids meals, they provide snacks and afternoon tea (currently), so I provided a packed lunch. They were very cautious about her allergy to peanuts and had all the right safeguards in place. I cant recommend this nursery enough and if we come back next year would seriously entertain spending time in the area again just so we could make use of the holiday care provided by the Manager and her team.

Both my children have attended Filkins Nursery, my youngest will be leaving this month(July). Over the last 4 years the care and attention my children have received has been outstanding. Every time they enter the nursery they are greeted with a lovely warm smile. They have consistently received excellent care and love from every single staff member. The setting is lovely with fantastic learning equipment, from the Smga table to Forest school outside. They enjoy a wide range of learning equipment and variety of play. I would recommend this nursery.

Our son began thriving at this wonderful nursery from his very first session when he was 2. He is now off to school and Filkins has provided him with more opportunities and enrichment than we ever could have imagined: attentive and enthusiastic staff, a broad range of activities, a home-from-home feel, weekly French, music and Forest School sessions....I could go on! Our son has been wonderfully prepared for school and we are genuinely sorry he has to move on. Highly recommended:-)

Our daughter has had a brilliant experience at The Old Station, Filkins. The setting and facilities are excellent but the real selling point has to be the staff. So kind, caring and creative, our daughter has really flourished and become a very happy, confident little girl who seems prepared to start school.

Our Daughter knew from her first visit that Filkins was the nursery for her. She then let her parents know accordingly
The main word to describe her time there is "Magical". She has enjoyed every session and is full of news every time we pick her up. We have asked her what her favourite things have been. She said, The egg/chick, gardening, French lessons and obviously the big school trip to a forest school. She came home from the trip, smiling, happy, tired and very muddy. Who could ask for more.
From a parents point of view we cannot express our gratitude for all that Filkins have done. We have felt confident that she has been in a loving, safe, secure and nurturing environment. An environment in which she has flourished and grown. We have been extremely happy with her educational and emotional development. The Nursery staff have embraced her as an individual with all her varying interests.

We cannot recommend this nursery enough, it is a truly wonderful place.

Filkins nursery is the best place ever, the staff are all friendly and they are polite and they got a smile on there face when they meet you at the door in the mornings. My son is always happy goes in smiling and comes home smiling. I recommend the nursery to my friends. My son has been there since he was 2 years old and he is 4 years old now. and they helped him so much I see the difference in him he so much happy, he gets on well with all the teachers. It is a lovely place, and all the activities they do at the school all enjoyable, and I have already booked my youngest son to go there when he is two. The manger of the nursery is the best manger. She keeps update on emails what activities that are coming up eg sports day,

My son has been at the nursery since 2012 when he turned 2yrs old. The experienced established team are incredible, the activities imaginative and varied. There is a wonderful outdoor playground, a Forrest school area, chickens, snug, and indoors two rooms with a variety of toys, books, IT and role play activities. The use of the electronic learning journal catalogues my sons development and I love reading the updates and seeing the photos/videos. There are extra activities such as tattybumpkin yoga and music. My son has flourished in the nursery, particularly in terms of social development and language, preparing him for school. I would recommend this nursery, it is wonderful, well managed and nurturing. My only constructive point - as the nursery is popular, if you need 'flexible childcare' you may need somewhere else. They always try to accommodate me for extra sessions or holiday clubs when required, but it's not always possible - but I'm still so glad he's at the nursery!

My daughter started at the nursery in September 2015. She has already come on leaps and bounds in terms of speech. The nursery offer a lot of activities. They are a little limited regarding indoor space but use the areas very inventively and also do a lot outside play which is great. They have a forest school area which I think is an excellent idea. We are very happy with the standard of care at Filkins Nursery. I would happily highly recommend the nursery.
