Partou Longlevens Day Nursery & Pre-School, established in 2003, was the first Chestnuts nursery and is part of a small group of day nurseries in Gloucester.

The nursery offers excellent care and learning experiences and staff actively encourage children in their play and exploration, supporting their natural curiosity.

With light and spacious age-appropriately equipped rooms, children have plenty of opportunities to play and learn. The garden allows for outdoor play and exploration.

My little boy has been attending Partou Longlevens since October 2023 and he absolutely loves it. Every member of staff we have come across has been so kind and supported him well through each room transition. The staff form strong bonds with him which makes me feel comforted when dropping him off.
He regularly asks if he's going to nursery which gives me the confidence that he genuinely does love going. My little girl is due to start in the new few months.

Our son started in the baby room in April 2025 when he was 11 months. Since then he has become so confident, he's learnt to walk and started chatting away. He loves the staff and points at their photos on the wall at drop off and pick up, as well as photos of his friends next to his name peg. He eats
so well at nursery, a really varied and healthy diet. We love seeing all the things he gets up to on the app.

Our 1 year old has been at the nursery since he was 9 months old. He has been so well supported and cared for since joining. We cannot fault the nursery team for going above and beyond with their care of our son and also providing us updates daily when he is there. The team have a great routine and
the food that is provided is also fab. Our son eates more at nursery than he will at home!! Would highly recommend the Partou Longlevens Team.

My son is so well cared for by the bungalow team. He has developed close relationships with the staff and transformed from struggling to settle in to being excited to arrive.


The app is frequently updated with what he's doing during the day, including photos and development assessments; it's great

seeing him happy and learning.


If we ever have any concerns or queries room leaders and the nursery management team are incredibly responsive and supportive.

My daughter has thrived since joining Partou Longlevens. I can see how much the staff adore her and always keep us updated with what she has learnt and enjoyed doing in her day. The team have worked hard to enhance the environment and are always so welcoming. My daughter loves telling me about her day.

Since our daughter started nursery, she has come on leaps and bounds. She has recently started the preschool, where she has grown confident and made great relationships with the staff. She enjoys the routine and it has been a seamless transfer to the preschool, which I was very worried and unsure how
she would cope with the change. All staff have had a positive impact on her early years learning, and make me feel 'safe' whilst she's there.

Our son has blossomed into a very confident person as a result of his time here. The staff have been faultless but some of the food options/alternatives could do with some improvement. We love Longlevens. The full-time staff are amazing and I can tell they really care about our daughter. We've built a great relationship over the years. Always a great help with changing needs. The curriculum has improved over the last 6 months and you can tell investment has been made into the building

My daughter has been at this nursery for 2 years. The connections she's built with the staff have been amazing.
Shes now in 2-3's and with the recent staffing changes I was worried how she would take to this as she's not a fan of change.
In the last 3 months her development in speech, confidence,
imaginative play and overall willingness to go to nursery has increased massively. The impact three members of staff have made on the nursery is clear to see and I can't wait to see my child thrive in preschool this year.
I have to say a special thank you to two other staff members as my daughter adores them and they've been a key cog in helping her form positive attachments.

My son has, at the start of the academic year, increased contact time from two to four days. The team has facilitated a warm and friendly envionment enabling him to settle quickly. He regularly talks about activities he has done. His key worker has helped him widen his food palate in a way he is enjoying.

My baby joined Chestnuts in January 2024 at 1 year old and it's been such a positive experience. She has settled in so well and gets excited every time we arrive. The staff are excellent and I feel really confident and comfortable leaving her. I get lots of updates during the day - all the activities
are great and she is given a wide variety of meals. Overall, very impressed!

The staff are incredible with both of my boys aged 3 and 1. I feel 100% comfortable leaving them in very safe hands. Their skills have come on hugely since starting nursery, social, speech and problem-solving. I would recommend this nursery without question and trust the staff explicitly with my children.
