Rainbow Day Nursery School Ltd is a family run nursery established in 1985 by one of the present owners. They provide care for children aged 3 months – 5 years. Throughout the years the Nursery has earned an exceptional reputation, supported by a dedicated and enthusiastic childcare team, who strive to maintain and constantly seek to improve. The Nursery aims to provide the highest quality care within a loving family environment.

Within the Nursery are four fully equipped rooms, which cater for children between the ages of 0-5 years. Activities are designed to promote and broaden key aspects of a child's development. The Nursery is extremely fortunate to have two spacious ground floor gardens and a rooftop garden within the baby unit.

All children are charged a set daily fee which includes freshly cooked healthy meals and snacks, made on the premises.

It was a daunting feeling sending our child to nursery just coming out of the COVID pandemic, and having to decide somewhat quickly when other arrangements with grandparents would not work. Our child also has a severe peanut allergy. Despite this, everyone at Rainbow have been amazing at putting our
minds at ease, especially the rigorousness of their allergy training / policy. Although we did not originally think we would be sending our child to nursery, we've come to realise how incredibly valuable the time spent at Rainbow has been for our child to develop, becoming the confident and caring person they are now, making friends along the way, and having tremendous amounts of fun.

My twins started their journey at Rainbows at 13 months old, and they're about to begin their transition to primary school. Rainbows has become a huge part of their early years life, and the girls are very sad to leave. The staff and management are so much more than that, treating each child like their
own. The bond between the staff and my twins is second to none, like many others there. Between the staff, children and parents, we are all a part of one family. I dread their last day coming up, as my girls are going to miss it so much. The nursery keep you informed daily, calling with any issues and always putting everyone's health & safety as priority. They strive to treat each child as an individual, offering solutions to maintain the best care and to help each child thrive. They don't treat you like a parent, but more so a team mate, working together. Their activities are endless, with a great choice of meals and snacks. I will always be glad I chose this setting to start their journey.

Rainbow day nursery is excellent, I couldn't have ask for better for my son. I was so nervous about my son starting nursery and rainbow have eased that with every way possible. They have been so supportive and their communication is top level. My son has extra needs and they have accommodated to these
needs excellently and I am more than happy with their service and they way they are with my son, he has excelled whilst being with rainbow and I am so happy to continue to see his journey with them. My son will continue with them until he goes to school. Brilliant nursery cannot recommend enough.

Our son has been attending this nursery since he was 10 months old, and it's been such an incredible journey. As he prepares to leave this month to start school, we can't help but reflect on how much he has grown during his time here. The staff are truly exceptional, always bringing out the best in
every child. Our son was very shy at first, but with their support, he has blossomed into a confident, outgoing boy. The relationships he has developed with both staff and his peers have been amazing to watch. His personality and sense of humour have truly flourished, and it's been a delight to see. We're so grateful for everything this nursery has done for him and will miss it dearly!

We are just coming to the end of our time with Rainbow Nursery, having had two children pass through from when they were 9-12 months up until they went to school. They have both had a brilliant time and have always been happy to go in and then, when they come home, tell us about the great things they've
done that day. The staff have been consistently amazing with a number of them having been with them the whole time. We have always felt that both boys have been brilliantly cared for by them. We have recommended this nursery to our friends and would have no issue doing that again.

It's a lovely nursery to care after children. My daughter is four years old and enjoys the nursery, which has new activities and toys every day. They also help and educate children about personal hygiene. Most importantly, the workers are friendly and will greet you with a real smile. Imagine your child
hugging the teacher the moment she sees them. There is nothing more to add. During the summer, they appropriately apply sunscreen and change their clothes if they get wet while playing in water. During the winter, keep the kids warm with a scarf, cap, and jacket. We can have peace of mind when we send our children off at the nursery and gladly wave goodbye. It's a really wonderful nursery to look after baby and toddler.

Both my children have attended Rainbow. My son was nearly two and started in Buds and Blossoms through to school, and my daughter from 5.5 months. She's still there in Buds and Blossoms and will stay until she starts school. It's also worth mentioning that my sister and I also went to Rainbow, in 1988!
As a family we only have good things to say about Rainbow. The connection with their key workers and the friends they have made will stay with us for a lifetime. It's still family-owned and has a lovely warm family feel. The setting is nurturing and both our children have developed very well. The key workers know the children inside out and I have no hesitation in recommending Rainbow.

As soon as I first visited Rainbow Day Nursery I knew I would be happy sending my daughter here. The staff are utterly wonderful and so kind and caring. They were unbelievably accommodating with my wishes for my daughter. She is so happy and settled with all the staff and she has formed a really wonderful
bond with her key carer. They are also really supporting her development, with movement, nutrition, curiosity, speech development with baby signs etc and social skills. I really couldn’t be happier with everything about this lovely nursery.

I have been with Rainbows since August 2021 for my first child and now have both my daughters in the setting. They are both happy to go in every morning, they thrive in the caring environment and learn so much. The staff are friendly and I trust them completely with my two girls. They are always helpful

Both of my children attend the setting, my son had has just left the pre-school class to go to school.
The staff at the nursery are absolutely wonderful; kind, patient and fantastic teachers.
As a parent I felt part of a community and have built relationships with other parents of children at the
setting.
The topics covered have been age appropriate and have led my son to show a real interest in London and Space as he has really enjoyed learning about them.
I feel that the setting have set my son up for school really well.

Our child has been attending Rainbow Day Nursery School since he was 12 months. He is now almost 5 and about to start school. He has loved it here and talks fondly of the staff. He tells us how much fun they are and the games they play. The staff provide a good summary at the end of the day and communicate
any changes to us. He is provided with excellent food and well planned learning activities and games.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since she was 7 months old and has never been upset getting dropped off. She has a great bond with the staff and they really stick to her routine with sleep, milk and food as well as being great with her dietary needs. The observations are very detailed and
updated regularly each week which is lovely to see what she’s been doing and learning. The nursery has a lovely family feel and communications with management have been easy and well-managed.

Lovely, lovely nursery! My daughter took to the staff immediately and attached to one member of staff in particular, who is possibly the friendliest person I've ever met! Lots to do daily, so always exhausted. Homemade meals and snacks for my foodie baby. She started at 9 months old and is now a year
old and looks forward to nursery every single day! They kept my mind at ease on day one, letting me know she was happy and doing great. You get these cute notes daily that tell you what they have been up to and I think it's a lovely keepsake. You also have digital images or videos of your child doing an activity, it's always reassuring to see her smile. My daughter feels so at home there and I am happy sending her there and this coming from an extremely anxious first-time working mother. They are just by Poole park as well, so in good weather, they go for outings. You will love it as will your little ones. Looking at other nurseries in the area, Rainbow was a no-brainer! Thanks, lovely ladies.

Both my eldest daughter and now my youngest daughter attended Rainbow and I cannot fault it. Despite pandemics and changes of hands and staff their commitment to the children and parents has never changed.
I can raise any questions without fear of judgement and my children have always walked in and
out happy.
Cannot recommend them enough. If you're looking for a friendly and welcoming nursery this is the one for you hands down!

A caring and lovely nursery. My daughter has attended since she was around 9 months old. She has enjoyed every minute of her time here. The staff are loving and feel like extended family members. My daughter loves them all, and they will be truly missed. I am forever thankful to the Rainbow team for
the care, love and attention they have shown my daughter and cannot recommend enough. The food is freshly cooked on site and I am forever hearing how yummy it is! I honestly believe this is the best nursery and preschool you will find.

My name is Gillian, I founded Rainbow Day Nursery School in September 1985 following a career in nursing and teaching, and Rainbow opened one day following my eldest Grandson’s second Birthday! Over the years Rainbow has grown like “Topsy”. Initially, we were registered for 20 children aged 2-5 years old, we then extended and increased to 30 children. In 1993 I moved out of my flat and the “Cherubs” unit was formed providing 15 places for babies. In 2000 I was lucky to win a “Sealed Bid” and purchase the WRVS premises! This provided an area for the Pre-school Explorers and a second large garden. We are now registered for 65 children. During the years my youngest daughter and eldest son have both worked at Rainbow I am now working with my youngest Grandson and enjoying the experience!

Job Title: Finance Director Joined: 2004

My name is Gerry, and I am the Finance Director. I joined Rainbow in 2004 after a career in Business Management. I was employed as the Business Manager and took over this role from my mother who remained in the business as an advisor.


In 2008 we formed a limited company with Gillian and me as Directors. My youngest son joined the business in 2019 when we worked closely together until his appointment as Business Manager in 2020 when he took over the daily running of the Business and I now support him from a more remote position. My wife Naomi has worked at Rainbow since 2001 and is qualified as a Nursery Practitioner level 3. My wife and I have just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Naomi had a 10-year-old daughter when we married, and we have two sons. We have two granddaughters, one of whom is an apprentice at the Nursery, we also have two young Grandsons, the eldest is enjoying his time at Rainbow. The baby will follow shortly.

My name is Su and I am the Operations Director of the Nursery. My role includes overseeing the Compliance for the setting and I am the Nominated Person for Ofsted. I started my career (many years ago) as a Registered Nurse and then went on to become an Early Years Practitioner after having my children. My passion is Speech and Language and for a number of years, I ran my own Baby Signing company, teaching parents/carers and pre-verbal babies to use Sign Language as a way to communicate.


Since qualifying as an Early Years Practitioner, I have been involved in setting up a number of nurseries in the South of England and helping them to obtain their Good or Outstanding ratings with Ofsted. I am also heavily involved in a charity that helps the homeless and local families who are in need of assistance. In my spare time, I can usually be found walking the family Weimaraner dog on the beach or in the New Forest.

My name is Edward, I joined Rainbow Day Nursery School in 2019 to assist my father, in developing the Business. In October 2020, I became the Business Manager. I work closely with the Nursery Manager and Directors; we have formed an effective working partnership supporting all aspects of Rainbow’s business.


I studied Business and Management at university; however, I am also fortunate to have my grandmother, Gillian, fully committed to the business and giving me much support as well as my father. I also enjoyed my own early years at Rainbow along with my brother, cousins, and nieces, and we all have many happy childhood memories of the setting. Rainbow has always played an enormous part in our lives.

My name is Sam and I am the Nursery Manager. I joined Rainbow in 2022 as I wanted to be involved in a more home away from home, family-oriented setting, with my own daughter due and on the way at the time. I have worked in childcare for around 10 years after starting my apprenticeship at 21 and worked my way up to management roles.


During this time, I have worked in different settings, assisting them to get Good or Outstanding ratings from Ofsted. I have also worked with many outside agencies and alongside BCP. In my spare time, I am an England FA qualified Football Coach. I have coached all age ranges from under 5’s to under 13’s, 14’s and 15’s. I am now currently Manager of and coaching a Men’s team, where I am also signed as a player.

My name is Nat, I am one of the team leaders and Special educational needs Coordinator (SENDCo.) I have worked in childcare settings for 15 years. I started off my career in childcare at Rainbow back in 2007 where I completed my level 2 & 3 qualifications in childcare and education as well as my SENDCo training.


I then had the opportunity to join a cruise ship working with young children. Following my return, I have worked in different settings with various roles including working as a 1:1 support worker helping families and practitioners to support children with different additional needs, such as Autism, global development delay and speech and language delays. I am passionate about my job and really enjoy being able to share my knowledge and experiences with my colleagues and families to help further support children’s learning and development.
