Colourbox Montessori School & Forest School - Newmarket

Our daughter loves attending the garden house at Colourbox Newmarket. We are really impressed with the range of activities available to her, she has plenty of opportunities to get outdoors, and the staff are fantastic. There is a very happy vibe at the nursery, and it seems well managed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

My daughter loves going to this nursery. The staff are friendly, helpful and really care about her. My daughter gets to do lots of creative things in the nursery and explores the forest with other kids. Overall very satisfied with the nursery.

My Son struggled to settle at his original nursery but he moved here and has loved it. All the outdoor activities and forest school keep him busy and happy. He has developed many new skills in a few months here which I’m sure have been progressing so well because they are part of day to day life at Colourbox. We have been so pleased with how everyone has been with him and particularly through these Covid times all the staff have been amazing.

My daughter has attended Colourbox since she was 18 months old. She settled well and I was immediately impressed by the care she received. They really do stick to the Montessori methods and the first school is wonderful. She is now nearly 4 and readying herself for school this year. Her teachers have all been very supportive through some difficult times and I’m sure this support has helped to keep her emotionally well. Three members of staff have been particularly kind, although I have been impressed by the dedication of all staff I’ve encountered. Even the office staff are helpful and effective. They’ve managed the Covid situation well and minimised disruption. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my daughter's education and have no hesitation in recommending Colourbox Newmarket.

We have had children at Colourbox Newmarket since 2014. We couldn’t be happier with our experience: the nursery provides a fantastic environment for children with wonderful staff. Our children have thrived in their care and thanks to them are confident, independent little people.

During COVID-19 changes they have communicated with us very well. We are very happy with them and he will stay there until school. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Excellent nursery and our little boy has been made to feel part of the Colourbox family instantly and he has so much more confidence and character about him. His speech and other skills have come on leaps and bounds. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

My little boy started here in January. He is normally very clingy and upset for us to leave him when confronted with a new environment and new people. It’s his second week there and instead of cuddling to us and crying when we leave, he strolls in on his own, carrying his own backpack and is excited to see his peers and nursery staff. We have been so impressed with the look of the nursery, the welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere within. I would highly recommend this nursery to friends and family, it’s hard to leave your babies but it makes it so much easier when they go somewhere that they love.

Colourbox looked after my children over the past five years. Both girls have loved their time there. They get to do such a wide range of activities, indoors and outside in the amazing Forest School. Local teachers tell me they can tell the children who went to Colourbox. They arrive at school used to structure and class rules, with noticeably good attention spans. Montessori nurseries place great importance on self-reliance so the kids start school having learned to read their own names and do up their own shoes and coats. When my daughter was two, she was showing other children at the library the magic coat technique! This year (2020) the nursery has managed to stay open throughout the whole of the pandemic - a real achievement. Staff are dedicated, highly trained and proactive when circumstances require a new approach. They are also equipped to provide excellent care for children with additional needs. I'd recommend them.

As soon as I walked into Colourbox, I knew it was special and for me, it was head and shoulders above any other nursery I had seen. The staff are warm, caring and fun and the rooms are beautifully set out and inviting for children. The atmosphere always seems full of excitement, yet calm and peaceful. The forest school (Country Club) is amazing. Having looked for similar nurseries in other areas and found nothing that comes close to Colourbox, I can honestly say this place is a gem and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to send my child here.

Our daughter absolutely loves attending here twice a week. The staff are great. Fantastic management and we feel that our daughter is in the best hands. The staff are compassionate and caring but are also very engaging with the children. Our daughter is always kept busy. The days are structured but the children have a lot of choice on what activities they do. There is a country club that they have a choice to go to each session, and it is absolutely fantastic. A huge open space with lots of different activities to explore and learn. The country club has it's own specially trained staff too. We get daily updates and weekly menus. Every meal is cooked by an in house pastry chef. We have used a different nursery previously that closed because of the Covid outbreak, but we wouldn't take our daughter anywhere else now.

I adore your nurseries. You gave both my babies the best start to education and I can’t talk highly enough of Colourbox. Wishing you all the best for Christmas and a safe new year to all your team and families.

We've been with the nursery for not too long, but I can safely say it is really above and beyond other places. The facilities and concept are fantastic, it is designed to get children loving and respecting nature from such an early age. The staff are very loving and accommodating. Education level and variety of activities also stand out. It is a truly great nursery, hats off.

My girls started at Colourbox Newmarket in September after their last nursery sadly closed. The transition was smooth, all the staff in both rooms we have experience with (Garden house for my youngest and World room for my oldest) have been friendly, warm and welcoming from the start and the children there are so friendly too. The way the curriculum is organised and delivered is brilliant. My oldest comes home every day and tells us something new she’s learned. Her communication skills and her interest in the world around us, has improved so much. My youngest is learning new words daily and has learned other ways to communicate. She too has a fantastic curiosity and enthusiasm for learning now. Above everything, the best part of Colourbox Newmarket is the forest school. All classrooms are free-flow to outside play areas anyway, but the forest school area is like nothing I’ve ever seen anywhere else - it’s like a classroom in the woods. Trees, bugs, dens, firepit, everything a young explorer needs.
