Kindred Cambridge is located in the heart of Cambridge, its cosy and homely atmosphere ensures that children achieve the best possible start to life with resources and opportunities to allow them to develop and grow.

The dedicated staff team take time to get to know every child attending the nursery and interact with all children.

Every child has a passionate key person who will track your child's progress daily and feed back to you at the end of the busy day.

The under 2's rooms hold a maximum of 9 children in each room, this allows the children to develop and grow in a warm, cosy and spacious environment.

The baby room is located in a separate flat adjoining the nursery, which has a separate sleeping room for babies. The 2-3 year olds and pre-school share a large room with a wide range of resources and constant free flow to the well-equipped garden area.

The individual needs of each child at the nursery are met through a range of care, fun and learning and parents are regularly encouraged to become involved with nursery events and open nursery sessions.

The pre-school class visit the local residential home every week and play with their elderly friends there, this wonderful intergenerational interaction is great for their confidence and social and communication skills.

A parents evening is held twice a year and a monthly newsletter is sent to parents to allow them to keep up to date with the nursery’s most recent activities.

All staff are regularly DBS checked, paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene trained.

We have seen our son flourish at Sunflowers during the past couple of years. The staff know him well, enjoy having him around, stretch and stimulate him and welcomed him in to the Sunflowers family wonderfully. He has been very happy there. We are hoping that as one of our sons leaves, another will
be able to join!

We have really loved Sunflower. It is a really caring and professional establishment and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other parents. We are moving back to Australia and hope we can find somewhere half as good as Sunflower!


Our son went into the Snowdrops Room at six months old and I was

so reassured by the competence of the staff. They were very happy to go with his routine and I trusted that they would let me know if anything was amiss during the day. A number of the staff have been with Sunflower for quite a few years which I always think is a great sign. A member of staff gives us a rundown in the afternoon when we pick our son up and we get a sheet with a summary of milk, food, nappies, sleep times, etc.


As there are only nine babies in the room and it is in a separate flat, it feels very contained. There is a separate sleeping room within the flat which I'm sure helps the babies to get more sleep. The atmosphere always seems very calm at drop off and pick up.

We are very happy with Sunflower Nursery. The staff are warm, knowledgeable about childhood development and very communicative with us about our son. They go out of their way to make sure he has lots of variation within his set routines and we are impressed at the special activities and programs that
are brought in, such as a visitor who brings animals for the children to interact with.
Recent changes to reduce sugar in the children's food is very appreciated. Most importantly, our son is very excited to arrive in the morning and happy when we pick him up at the end of the day.

Me and my husband were looking for a nice, near and trustworthy nursery and so we've asked our colleagues and friends. Two of them recommended this nursery and we visited it. We also visited a lot of bigger nurseries, and other nurseries, etc, but this one felt cosier, reliable, clean and it was close
to our house. It has a separate room in which the babies can have a nap, a small but bright room, a chance to go for walks in the park and a nice play area. It's not very spacious and I am always worried about draughts, as I see a lot of times the doors/ windows open...
We had to wait just for 3 months for a vacancy. My son loves going to the nursery and after just 2 weeks he went straight to the nursery teachers' arms. He was just 7 months but from the start, we could see he was happy, well-taken care of and had lots of fun. Every day he comes home with results of artwork/ messy play in his clothes. We've got a complete feedback on a daily basis so we are happy and know what to expect.

We started sending our daughter to the nursery since she was nearly 6 months and has now been at the nursery for almost 12 months. It took our wee one a bit longer to adapt to her new environment and unfamiliar faces. Staff have very patient with our child since day one.


Staff provide accurate feedback

on our child daily; parents are notified with a phone call to assure our child has settled in the morning. We like the fact that her home and nursery environment have very little contrast in her life. The new Manager is great, as she is approachable, proactive and suggestions are implemented swiftly. My child is interacting with other babies of a similar age group and the size of the group is fairly small which allows my child to really bond with her friends and key staff members.


At the end of the day when you pick up your little one and they are content, it gives you that overall satisfaction that staff at the nursery have taken good care of your child during your absence.

Our children started Sunflower Nursery @ Cambridge when they were about 10 months old. Leaving your child in care to return to work is daunting for any parent, but the children quickly settled in and have flourished in the safe and nurturing environment.


The staff make a huge effort to make every

day different and to do fun and educational activities. Because the nursery is small, they get to know each child well and certainly helped our children work through their terrible twos (!) in an individualised way. The staff show huge pride when the children learn something new, which is evidence of their devotion to them. Our eldest daughter is now at school but loves to pick up her brother as the staff still shower her with attention. She often talks about missing it and remains close to the children she was there with.


We will eventually have had three children through Sunflower Nursery @ Cambridge and feel they will all have benefited from the family centred place it is.

We have been so impressed with every aspect of Sunflower Nursery and our little boy loves attending. The baby room is cosy and inviting with many different stations for curious babies, there is a new and exciting activity for them to discover every day. The garden is great and another area for the babies
to explore, also the mud kitchen is a big hit! Our little boy enjoys the food and naps soundly in the separate sleeping room. Most importantly, the staff are simply wonderful, they are so warm and friendly and have such an excellent rapport with our son. I would absolutely recommend Sunflower Nursery.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. The staff are so friendly, calm, informative and really take the time to tell you about your child’s day. I have absolute confidence in their handling of my son - when he needs more cuddles than usual, I know that they really see to his needs.


The facilities are fantastic,

the Snowdrops room is so lovely, full of lovely toys, a separate sleeping area and a wet play area too, with sand, water play and a ball pool.


Food is freshly cooked every day and my son always seems to have had a full day of food that he has enjoyed.


They always seem to spend time in the garden which is lovely, and my son is really enjoying his time there. Would really recommend (and have recommended) the nursery to friends and family.

Both of our children (aged 2 and 4) are at Sunflower Nursery and they love it. The youngest has been there since he was 10 months old. I particularly like the fact that the baby room has a limited number of spaces so feels nice and homely. The pre-school room combines fun and learning so they are well
prepared for the transition to school. The staff in all the rooms are excellent.

My son has attended Sunflower for the last 8 months (aged 4), and close friends' children have attended here over the past 6 years. Our experiences are universally positive and I am very happy to recommend this nursery.


Sunflower is small, friendly and cheerful with a creative and exuberant approach

to learning. The outdoor courtyard is quite limited, but the facilities are brilliant and expeditions are made out into the wider world. The departure of the previous, excellent manager in the autumn has resulted in new management and staff roles. As with all strong organisations, the legacy is a reinvigorated team who are developing their new identities and responsibilities with enthusiasm. Each week sees learning activities prepared and announced to parents in advance. The staff are extremely professional, caring and well trained, and there are many opportunities for feedback and advice. Our son feels safe and happy, and he is thriving.

My son was at the nursery from eight months to four years. He began in the separate Snowdrop (baby) flat, progressed to the Bluebell (toddler) room, then to the main room (Tulip / Buttercup). I never had the slightest qualm about leaving him, because ALL the staff were fantastic - kind, patient, positive.
Equipment & activities are great, the atmosphere warm and friendly. Babies and toddlers have their own safe spaces; each group has dedicated core staff, for continuity through the year, but also varied extra helpers so the children get to know all the staff. Amazing activities from babies up - jelly and custard play! Shaving foam with glitter, or masses of shredded paper! - and also help prepare the oldest children for school. Lovely food, splendid bathrooms with their own named flannels. Consistently excellent handover from the staff at the end of the day & good comms. Could not recommend more highly. In fact, probably worth having another baby just to get another few years of Sunflower!

I really was nervous when my child started nursery but the wonderful staff in Sunflower were always kind and gentle with appropriate teachings of discipline when is needed. I feel my son has made good progress and being supported and stimulated in his interests and being given wonderful care. Lunches
are great. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for childcare with full confidence.

Sunflower Nursery looked after my son really well and prepared him for school in the best possible way. They are now caring for my daughter who loves attending and has lots of friends there. The food is excellent and the different themes each week/every day make it exciting for the kids who are constantly

My son, who attends the nursery full time 5 days a week does not want to go home at the end of the day. The staff constantly come up with new fun and stimulating activities and are always cheerful, professional and really care about the children. The nursery was recommended to me by several colleagues
