Happy Bunnies Nursery School Shepreth is proud to offer a holistic, child-centred approach to learning.

The pedagogy revolves around prioritising play, exploration, and hands-on experiences to foster creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. They strongly believe in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that nurtures a love for learning, promotes multicultural awareness, and encourages individualised learning.

The team integrates various educational philosophies, including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf, to provide a comprehensive learning experience for students. The aim is to develop essential life skills while promoting a sense of community and cultural diversity.

In addition to the core curriculum, the nursery school also offers various extracurricular activities such as sports coaching, French classes, Makaton sessions, wildlife park visits, and Train Trips. These activities aim to enhance the overall learning experience and provide students with additional opportunities for growth and exploration.

Funding & Fees

  • Funded sessions are calculated by age group and will be introduced per Government plans. All
    children can currently access 15 hours of supported childcare, which can be used over 38 weeks
    of the year during school term time. From September 2025, Government plans change; further
    information can be found on the Childcare Choices website.
    Starting from September 2024:
    Children will be eligible for 15 hours of support, Sessions for funded hours are, 2 x 7.5 hrs days
    (0830 –1600). Monday- Friday. The funded hours can be topped up with additional paid access
    subject to application and availability.
    Where funded hours are used exclusively, a daily charge applies for consumables. In addition, if
    access is required for breakfast and tea clubs, as they are not included in Government-supported
    childcare options, charges are also applied. These are all subject applications and availability.
    Current charges are:
    Consumables £5.80 per day
    Optional charges
    Breakfast club (Access from 08:00-08:30) £8.50 per day
    Tea club (Access from 16:00-17:00) £10.60 per day
    Support options for additional days via Self-funded access:
    Where full-time all, year-round care is required, Government support hours can be allocated. over
    50 weeks, subject to application
    Children can access support from 0800-1700 Monday to Friday
    Charges applicable include a daily consumable cost, including the supply of nappies and access
    to Breakfast and Tea Club: Full-day session £106.30 per day

My granddaughter started at the nursery in October.
She was barely talking and socialising. She has come a long way.
They focus on giving each and every child the confidence and ability to learn in a safe and comfortable setting.
She is now talking with confidence and has a great circle of friends.
In fact, she would like to take over the job of the staff.
The staff are superb and all work under the guidance of the owner.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 1 and we couldn’t be happier. The staff are all amazing and you can see the effect this has on the children. It’s a great environment for his learning and development. I would highly recommend this nursery!

My son has struggled with his speech a lot and since attending the nursery his speech has improved so much. They go on trips and walks which is great and do lots of development activities. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming to both me and my son and also very understanding.

Wonderful nursery, couldn’t be happier with it. Moved our child here from a big chain and she has thrived.
The staff are warm and attentive, and reassuringly confident. There’s clearly a great deal of thought going into creating opportunities for the children to learn.
They’re constantly outside in
the village, and as a bonus, they all have tickets to the nearby wildlife park so more often than not my daughter comes home “Daddy we saw the tiger!”.

My 19-month-old daughter attends this nursery. She’s been attending for 2 months now and really enjoys it, in fact, she doesn’t even want to come home!
The staff are really lovely, very welcoming and very understanding of children’s development.
As a dad, I wouldn't normally be part of choosing
a nursery and would have the dreaded feeling of awkwardness at drop off and pick up but I felt very involved and welcomed by the manager and his team.
I love the app to see what my daughter gets up to and all the details I wouldn’t normally ask the staff about, but the wife would want to know about such as how long she napped for!
I wholly recommend this nursery for children!

Initially apprehensive having tried another, we love Happy Bunnies.
The manager is a fab ambassador for Happy Bunnies and put me at ease but more importantly my just 3-year-old! He easily answered my questions and concerns before I asked on our trial visit. The staff are clearly child-focussed. They
pay attention to the fantastic individuals the children are and quickly got to know my little girl. Only going two days she’s settled in well and loves telling me stories about her day with her friends. She loves singing songs she’s learned.
They are so welcoming in the mornings and happy to chat at the end about the day, which means so much when you have a tired child. A homely environment for preschool is fab and a perfect learning environment for littlies. Going outside twice a day or the little trips is great and my daughter enjoys telling me ‘I went there (pointing to the Hedgehog Hospital), we saw hedgehogs.'
I wholeheartedly recommend to others looking for childcare.

My 3-year-old son started at Happy Bunnies in September 2023 and is absolutely loving it. When you walk into the school, you immediately get that warm family feeling. My daughter has been here for the last 12 months, and she is doing amazing. The nursery was taken over by a new owner at the beginning of the year, and lots of changes have happened for the better.
My daughter has a great time whilst she is there, and all of the staff are very attentive.

My little one started just a few weeks ago and we are happy. The staff is very friendly and is a warming setting. I like that they use the app to give updates during the day. I hope they start also sending daily pictures of the kids via the app and information on what they eat/quantity.

I have been blown away by Happy Bunnies! After working in childcare myself previously I knew what to look out for in a good nursery. However Happy Bunnies is not just a good nursery. They are an amazing nursery.
The staff are professional yet relatable. My child has settled very quickly. She feels
comfortable and excited to attend. In the short time she has been there she is flourishing. The nursery take regular walks and visits around the village including to the local wildlife park. The activities they provide help the children learn and develop. Their routines mean the children feel secure and know what’s happening within their day.
Management are knowledgeable with qualifications and experience, and even better hands on with the children and staff.
I would 100% recommend Happy Bunnies to any parents with a child aged 1 year to 4 years.

The manager and his team are truly passionate about the well-being of my little one. They have a calming facility that allows for plenty of play, exploring and learning. They’ve been very kind with drop-off/pick-up and settling in. We have a very happy little one whose night routine also improved significantly

I have attended Baby Bunnies Baby and Toddler Group (which is run by Happy Bunnies Nursery) since March 2023, with my nanny charge. He thoroughly enjoys the sessions and looks forward to attending on a weekly basis. With varied activities including water play, sand, painting, building bricks, singing
and instrument time, role play, and a healthy snack, the group offers a more structured morning which not only is unusual for a toddler group, but is also great for his general development. The group has a very relaxed and friendly feel and with the more structured approach, gives the children an insight into how life will be at Happy Bunnies Nursery and other Pre-schools in the area. I would highly recommend both the Toddler group and the Nursery to other carers and parents.

I started my daughter at Happy Bunnies Nursery School in April and it’s been so overwhelmingly positive for her. The staff are amazing- I feel like they genuinely love her and aren’t just doing a job. The kids do all sorts-including Shepreth Wildlife Park! They are so creative with their cooking, painting
and drawing. On occasions, I’ve collected my daughter early and she hasn’t yet seen me, she looks so happy. She loves going. The owner is a fabulous creative soul and he’s a great leader for the place. He’s actively interested in childcare and reads, visits conferences and pursues excellence. We’ve been so impacted by our experience at this nursery we’re looking at moving to Shepreth!

Some people choose a profession. Others are quietly called to it.


I was fifteen years old, standing in a village classroom, when I first heard that call – not in words, but in the soft rustle of storybooks, in the muddy playdough under children’s nails, in the fierce joy of a small child who knows they are safe, seen, and loved.


That moment changed everything.


Now, at 33, after nearly two decades of working with children, families, and educators, I hold an unwavering belief: childhood is not a rehearsal for adulthood. It is its own sacred time, and it deserves to be lived slowly, richly, and with deep respect.


My path has taken me through vocational training, university study, regulatory roles, and international exploration – all guided by the question: What kind of world are we inviting children into?


The answer, for me, has always been rooted in relationships, joy, and the courage to listen deeply.



When I became the owner of Happy Bunnies Nursery School, I didn’t just inherit a setting. I inherited a responsibility – to create a place where children are not shaped to fit the world, but where the world pauses to honour who they already are. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Froebelian wisdom, and a neurodivergent lens shaped by my own lived experience, I lead with heart, theory, and a profound respect for each child’s way of being.


Happy Bunnies is not just a nursery. It is a sanctuary for story, wonder, and possibility. Where questions are welcomed more than answers, and where every child’s voice matters.


This is not work for me. This is love made visible.


And I am deeply honoured to walk alongside your family on this part of your journey.

Having begun her early years journey as an apprentice in 2004, Becs has spent over two decades nurturing children across a wide range of settings — from leading nursery rooms to working as a nanny for a family with twins, to supporting children with serious illnesses and learning disabilities as a Team Leader in a residential children’s home.


This breadth of experience hasn’t just built her skillset – it’s shaped her soul. Becs knows that every child is different, every story matters, and every moment counts.


As Deputy Manager and leader of the Buttercups Room, Becs brings a rare blend of calm leadership, playful presence, and deep-rooted professionalism. Her Level 3 qualification reflects her commitment to learning, but it’s her spirit — warm, intuitive, and fiercely dedicated — that makes her shine. We’re so excited to shine the spotlight on Charlotte, a truly dedicated and caring member of our Happy Bunnies team! With two years of experience in early years, Charlotte brings warmth, energy, and a genuine love for childcare to everything she does.


Charlotte recently achieved her Level 2 qualification in Childcare, a fantastic milestone that reflects her commitment to giving children the best possible start in life. Her hard work and determination to grow as a practitioner truly shine through in her day-to-day care and support.


As a Toddler Practitioner in the Buttercups Room, Charlotte uses her skills and knowledge to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our curious toddlers. She plays a vital role in helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning through play.


Always a team player, Charlotte is happy to lend a hand in other rooms when needed, including with our pre-schoolers—showing just how adaptable and supportive she is.


Outside the nursery, Charlotte is a proud mum to her amazing 8-year-old son. Together, they enjoy exploring the park, movie days at the cinema, and quality time with friends and family.

Meet Tina – Our New Nursery Practitioner!


We’re so excited to welcome Tina, who will be joining the Happy Bunnies team from Monday 7th July!


With over 12 years of experience in Early Years education, Tina brings a wealth of knowledge and a beautifully calm, nurturing approach. She holds a Level 2 qualification and has worked across all age groups—from our tiniest babies to confident preschoolers heading off to school.


Tina is especially passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and believes deeply in the power of learning and growing together. She’s also spent time in nursery kitchens, helping to create nutritious menus and meals that fuel busy little minds.


A true outdoor enthusiast, Tina finds joy in pausing with children to notice the world around them—whether it’s the crunch of autumn leaves or the first signs of spring. Her love for nature is matched by her love of food—she’s always up for discovering new places and trying new flavours!

As her own family blossomed (Lisa is a proud mum of five!), her love for movement and childhood wonder led her to open her own ballet and dance school. For 30 years, she nurtured creativity and confidence in children as young as three, introducing them to the joy of expression through movement.


During those years, Lisa also visited nurseries across Cambridgeshire, sharing her unique gift for Music, Movement, and Mime with little learners. It was through this work that she crossed paths with Happy Bunnies—and in 2007, she officially joined our team.


Since then, Lisa has become a beloved presence in our setting. As a dedicated practitioner and specialist in Music in Movement, she brings rhythm, imagination, and joy into the daily lives of our little bunnies.
