Happy Bunnies Nursery School Shepreth is proud to offer a holistic, child-centred approach to learning.

The pedagogy revolves around prioritising play, exploration, and hands-on experiences to foster creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. They strongly believe in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that nurtures a love for learning, promotes multicultural awareness, and encourages individualised learning.

The team integrates various educational philosophies, including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf, to provide a comprehensive learning experience for students. The aim is to develop essential life skills while promoting a sense of community and cultural diversity.

In addition to the core curriculum, the nursery school also offers various extracurricular activities such as sports coaching, French classes, Makaton sessions, wildlife park visits, and Train Trips. These activities aim to enhance the overall learning experience and provide students with additional opportunities for growth and exploration.

  • Funded sessions are calculated by age group and will be introduced per Government plans. All
    children can currently access 15 hours of supported childcare, which can be used over 38 weeks
    of the year during school term time. From September 2025, Government plans change; further
    information can be found on the Childcare Choices website.
    Starting from September 2024:
    Children will be eligible for 15 hours of support, Sessions for funded hours are, 2 x 7.5 hrs days
    (0830 –1600). Monday- Friday. The funded hours can be topped up with additional paid access
    subject to application and availability.
    Where funded hours are used exclusively, a daily charge applies for consumables. In addition, if
    access is required for breakfast and tea clubs, as they are not included in Government-supported
    childcare options, charges are also applied. These are all subject applications and availability.
    Current charges are:
    Consumables £5.80 per day
    Optional charges
    Breakfast club (Access from 08:00-08:30) £8.50 per day
    Tea club (Access from 16:00-17:00) £10.60 per day
    Support options for additional days via Self-funded access:
    Where full-time all, year-round care is required, Government support hours can be allocated. over
    50 weeks, subject to application
    Children can access support from 0800-1700 Monday to Friday
    Charges applicable include a daily consumable cost, including the supply of nappies and access
    to Breakfast and Tea Club: Full-day session £106.30 per day

Our 1 year old recently joined happy bunnies and has settled in so well it's amazing to see. They helped out with multiple settling in sessions for her before she did her first full day.
The staff are all so lovely and passionate about the children and how they do when they are with them throughout
the day. The activities are always varied and it's also great that they can go to the wildlife park next door so regularly.
They offer hot food for lunches and dinner club or you can send your child with a packed lunch. Our little one loves her food, so she's not shy in trying all of what they have to offer at breakfast club or their various snacks too.
We can check in on the app throughout the day to see brief updates on food, sleep, nappies etc.
overall we are very pleased with happy bunnies and would certainly recommend to anyone interested.

My little girl comes home everyday excited to tell me what she's been up to! It varies for going on many walks, going to the park or doing so many fun indoor activities. None of her days are the same and she's learnt so much in such a short space of time! They use experiences to learn and always giving
experiences to my little girl! As a single parent who has to work I trust these girls (and Rob) and her and they never let me down! I can go to walk happily knowing my little girl will have an amazing day at nursery.

We're really pleased with Happy Bunnies. The staff have been extremely welcoming. It is a very homely environment and we can see how much our son has progressed in such a short space of time. The staff also really took the time to help our son settle in, which was greatly appreciated.

My son has recently started attending Happy Bunnies and has been getting on amazingly. The staff are all so kind and caring, the communication is excellent, the activities are engaging and fun and the food choices the children have is wonderful. My little one is happy to go into nursery and I love seeing
the photo updates. When he is there I often check the app throughout the day and it's always up to date with what he has eaten and sleep times etc.

My child started at Happy Bunnies a month ago and has settled in fantastically! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, my little one absolutely loves seeing them each day. Our 1 year old daughter has settled in very well at Happy Bunnies Nursery! The staff have shown great care and commitment. As it is an independent nursery you really get a personal approach to the care given, which we feel is very beneficial. The range of activities are great for both fun and learning.
Our daughter particularly likes the outdoor activities! The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable and our daughter after a short time feels comfortable with them. The manager is passionate about his work and this clearly shows throughout the nursery! We would recommend Happy Bunnies.

My son started in September and I have nothing but good things to say. He has settled in so well, and the staff have been nothing but warm, kind and caring towards my son.
Every day I receive updates on the app, so I can see how his day is going. And they always let me know what they've been up to
during the day which I appreciate.
The new site is great as well as it is right next to the park and the wildlife park which they visit often and I know my son loves. Thank you to all the tulip staff who have been amazing!! As I can see my son has already build relationships with them and that makes me feel at ease.
And the nursery manager Rob has been fantastic! Keeps me updated on everything that I need to know and is also fantastic with the children. And he also fought my corner when there was an issue with my son's eligibility code (through no fault of mine) and he reassured me that it would get sorted and he did get it sorted. So I am very thankful for all his help!

My daughter is absolutely thriving at Happy Bunnies. She has been attending for not even 2 months and I've already seen a significant improvement in both her behaviour and personal social and emotional skills. Happy Bunnies offer my daughter love, care, and a safe space for her to be her sassy little
self! Every day she is excited for nursery, she is constantly stimulated through outings, staff engagement, and of course lots of new little friends! We couldn't recommend Happy Bunnies more!

I couldn't recommend Happy Bunnies enough. They have been absolutely fabulous with our daughter.
She's found settling in and being away from mummy difficult, but the Happy Bunnies team have been so supportive and worked with her and us. She's now settled in and loving her time there.

Our son has had a wonderful year at Happy Bunnies preschool- our only regret is that we wish we had found it sooner! The staff are so lovely and seem to really care for the children and are amazing at keeping us up to date with photos and comments etc. The preschool really makes the most of its surroundings-
with the children taking regular trips to the Wildlife park, taking a train into Cambridge and going to the Botanical gardens and playing football on the park. They even have a French lesson once a week which has been amazing; my son has really enjoyed that and comes home telling us about the new French words they have learnt.


Really recommend Happy Bunnies to anyone looking in this area for a nursery/ preschool.

We are extremely happy with Happy Bunnies nursery so far. Our son has settled in at the nursery amazingly and seems to be having a great time. The updates from the nursery are regular and you can really tell the Happy Bunnies team care about your child and their development. It's also reassuring to
see so many photos of your child smiling and engaging in different activities when they're at nursery at the end of the week. It really does make the transition back to work much easier to know your child is having a great day during working hours. The team are friendly and our son has taken to them all very quickly. What a lovely nursery. I immediately felt welcomed into the warm and friendly space, the atmosphere is warm, safe and inviting. I'm very impressed with the caring and kindly staff who clearly love the children. A great range of activities which are both educational and fun. I love the fact that there
are plenty of outdoor visits to the wildlife park. My grandson has settled in extremely well and very quickly, he is very happy there.
I have been a teacher for 40 years and it is rare to find such a delightful environment. I could not have wished for a better nursery. Excellent.

The first plus you deal with is a large parking behind the club, there is also a large green playground and zoo 100 meters away. Not many kindergartens have that. The facility inside has many toys and different sections for kids not to get bored.

Our child started at this nursery last month aged 9 months. The staff have been brilliant in helping him settle in. Seeing the progress in his development since starting has been staggering, especially in reference to his eating. The app is really good to get regular updates as well as a weekly update

Our child started at this nursery last month and they have gone above and beyond to help him to settle in. They have been supportive of both our child's needs as well as our own. It is clear from how our child behaves at drop off/pick up and from photo updates how safe and cared for he feels. I genuinely
feel all the staff love what they do and would go above and beyond for our child. They go outside on walks/to see the trains/to the wildlife park every day and are always supporting my child's curiosity through messy play/baking/activities with light etc. The Manager clearly keeps well up to date with current evidence surrounding early years development/education/funding. We are so glad we found this nursery.

I was fifteen years old, standing in a village classroom, when I first heard that call – not in words, but in the soft rustle of storybooks, in the muddy playdough under children’s nails, in the fierce joy of a small child who knows they are safe, seen, and loved.


That moment changed everything.


Now, at 33, after nearly two decades of working with children, families, and educators, I hold an unwavering belief: childhood is not a rehearsal for adulthood. It is its own sacred time, and it deserves to be lived slowly, richly, and with deep respect.


My path has taken me through vocational training, university study, regulatory roles, and international exploration – all guided by the question: What kind of world are we inviting children into?


The answer, for me, has always been rooted in relationships, joy, and the courage to listen deeply.



When I became the owner of Happy Bunnies Nursery School, I didn’t just inherit a setting. I inherited a responsibility – to create a place where children are not shaped to fit the world, but where the world pauses to honour who they already are. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Froebelian wisdom, and a neurodivergent lens shaped by my own lived experience, I lead with heart, theory, and a profound respect for each child’s way of being.


Happy Bunnies is not just a nursery. It is a sanctuary for story, wonder, and possibility. Where questions are welcomed more than answers, and where every child’s voice matters.

Becs joined us in February 2024, bringing with her not just experience, but a depth of care and a joy for childhood that radiates in every room she enters. Having begun her early years journey as an apprentice in 2004, Becs has spent over two decades nurturing children across a wide range of settings — from leading nursery rooms to working as a nanny for a family with twins, to supporting children with serious illnesses and learning disabilities as a Team Leader in a residential children’s home.


This breadth of experience hasn’t just built her skillset – it’s shaped her soul. Becs knows that every child is different, every story matters, and every moment counts.


As Deputy Manager and leader of the Buttercups Room, Becs brings a rare blend of calm leadership, playful presence, and deep-rooted professionalism. Her Level 3 qualification reflects her commitment to learning, but it’s her spirit — warm, intuitive, and fiercely dedicated — that makes her shine. We’re so excited to shine the spotlight on Charlotte, a truly dedicated and caring member of our Happy Bunnies team! With two years of experience in early years, Charlotte brings warmth, energy, and a genuine love for childcare to everything she does.


Charlotte recently achieved her Level 2 qualification in Childcare, a fantastic milestone that reflects her commitment to giving children the best possible start in life. Her hard work and determination to grow as a practitioner truly shine through in her day-to-day care and support.


As a Toddler Practitioner in the Buttercups Room, Charlotte uses her skills and knowledge to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our curious toddlers. She plays a vital role in helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning through play.


Always a team player, Charlotte is happy to lend a hand in other rooms when needed, including with our pre-schoolers—showing just how adaptable and supportive she is.


Outside the nursery, Charlotte is a proud mum to her amazing 8-year-old son. Together, they enjoy exploring the park, movie days at the cinema, and quality time with friends and family.

With over 12 years of experience in Early Years education, Tina brings a wealth of knowledge and a beautifully calm, nurturing approach. She holds a Level 2 qualification and has worked across all age groups—from our tiniest babies to confident preschoolers heading off to school.


Tina is especially passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and believes deeply in the power of learning and growing together. She’s also spent time in nursery kitchens, helping to create nutritious menus and meals that fuel busy little minds.


A true outdoor enthusiast, Tina finds joy in pausing with children to notice the world around them—whether it’s the crunch of autumn leaves or the first signs of spring. Her love for nature is matched by her love of food—she’s always up for discovering new places and trying new flavours!
