Funded Childcare
Funded places are available on a Stretched or Term Time basis for eligible families, between 8am–6pm.
Cambridgeshire stretched funding is delivered over 50 weeks:
15h funding: up to 11.5h/week
30h funding: 22.5h/week
The Anchor is open for 51 weeks, so the one additional week is not covered by the stretched funding and is charged at the usual rate if childcare is required.

The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 50 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 50 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.8 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. A Flying Start Nursery went above and beyond to help my shy boy settle in. It was the first place he had been left without friends or family. But the staff helped him feel safe and secure so he really enjoyed going. It was lovely to see him learn new skills that will be with him for the rest of his life. Really appreciate everything they have done - would definitely recommend.

The nursery has a home from home feel and made my daughter feel very welcome. The nursery study different topics with the children and share information with parents on a regular basis. We have been very happy with the care provided by the friendly staff.

This is an amazing nursery and I would not send my son elsewhere - everyone who knows him has commented on how far he has come since attending. This is an amazing nursery and I would not send my son elsewhere - everyone who knows him has commented on how far he has come since attending. My son has additional needs, dietary requirements and is medicated, and the nursery are very accommodating with this. All the staff are brilliant, my only complaint is that I can't bring the staff home with me when I pick my son up!
He comes out with new things every day and I am kept well informed of his progress. I looked at several nurseries and childminders before visiting A Flying Start and as soon as I walked around, I couldn't wait to enrol him. I am trying to convince my other half to have another baby just so I can send them here! It has never felt like I am paying for a service, it just literally feels like my son's extended family.

My daughter has attended the nursery for just under two years, she is very advanced and intelligent for her age and its thanks to the skills and the teachers in general, that she has come so far in such a short space of time. I as a mother cannot thank the nursery enough for all that they do and that they are. Best nursery ever!

This is such a nice setting. I found that all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. My little girl was always so happy here. The staff were lovely and I would fully recommend this place for little ones as a nice place for them to grow.
