We were nervous at the start as our son was very clingy, but the staff were very adaptable and nice and helped him settle in and now he loves it. The staff are very informative, telling us exactly what he has done and when, which makes us confident he's learning and growing in the nursery environment.

As a foster carer to a little boy _ Woodstock staff have been amazing in the care they have taken, they are so welcoming, kind and always ask how things are going. The atmosphere at the nursery is very nurturing and all the children seem happy and very well looked after. I can't fault the short time
that I have been involved with the Woodstock nursery.

The fact I put all 3 of my children here throughout their pre-school years is testament to my trust in this nursery. The practitioners are genuinely kind, caring and lots of fun. I love their varied and innovative approach to learning through play eg., using tools, carding, beach school. An in-house
artist helps inspire the children who produce amazing creations. Woodstock have been absolutely, 100% reliable and I couldn't do my day job without them.

Woodstock is and has been such a huge part of my son's development, he loves it there and I have seen him grow so much thanks to Woodstock. From the moment I kiss him goodbye I know he is in safe hands and is having the most wonderful time. He tells me all about his day on the way home. It is perfect
for him, he loves being outdoors and the garden is great for him! He tries different foods there that he would turn his nose up at home.; It is the perfect stepping stone before he starts school next September and I can't praise them enough!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.737)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.737) out of 10 for Woodstock Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.972 for Woodstock Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (105 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.972
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.765 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodstock Day Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 number of registered child places is 10.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.865
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Owner/Director, Early Years Teacher Joined: 2000

After a career in the NHS and having my own children, I opened my first Day Nursery in 1996 for 24 children. The business grew to 3 Day Nurseries, 3 Out of school clubs and a Pre-school until in 2006 everything was sold except for Woodstock Day Nursery and I am now able to enjoy working alongside the staff team and the children on a daily basis – semi-retirement and loving it!

During this time I have qualified as a Nursery Nurse (0 to 5 years) and a Play Leader (5 to 14 years), has completed a BA in Early Years and am now a qualified Early Years Teacher (EYT).

On a personal note, I have 3 sons and two step-sons who are now all over 18 years of age plus 5 grandchildren... So far.
