Woodstock Day Nursery's aim has always been to provide the best and safest environment for each child. The team do this by creating and maintaining a caring, stimulating and fun atmosphere with enthusiastic, highly qualified and dedicated staff. Including their own Early Years Professional.

Nestledown Childcare is a family run business, established since 1996, and that sense of family is the core of their ethos. Every effort is made, every minute of the day, to provide their small clients with a secure, warm, friendly and loving environment. They always work in close partnership with parents to encourage their children to build self esteem and creativity, and develop into confident, happy people. At Woodstock they create an environment where the children can stretch their creative abilities, forge strong bonds with adults and other children, and learn how to handle the outside world – enjoying positive experiences each day which will stay with them and benefit them for life.

Woodstock has been an excellent nursery for my daughter who started there aged 9 months old.
She has loved her time at Woodstock and has benefited from the excellent learning opportunities on offer and the social interaction, stimulation of both her peers and the fabulous staff.
She has enjoyed her
time in the garden, free-flowing with the other age groups and street dance!
She loves her food and that which is provided by Woodstock has taken some beating to replicate at home on occasion!
Due to start school in September, she will be sad to leave Woodstock, however, she has been given an amazing start to launch from.

My son has attended this nursery for nearly four years despite a difficult start for him and he has developed massively during his time here. He is social, polite, interested in the world, the nursery and staff have contributed enormously to this. We have friends children here on our recommendation.

My child has been at the nursery a little over a year and has come on leaps and bounds. She has progressed so much in this time and I can only accredit this to the wonderful work that all the ladies and gents do at this nursery. I couldn't praise this nursery enough.

I really like the nursery and the staff. I have never seen a single day that myself and my daughter have not been greeted without a smile. Staff are nice and approachable. My daughter cries when I drop her every day but the staff (all of them) are so keen to make her happy and keep her occupied. It's
a peace of mind when I run for a busy day at work.

We have two children at Woodstock Day Nursery and they skip into nursery every morning. The staff are amazing and we know the children are safe and having a wonderful day whilst we are at work. I could not wish for a more caring environment.

My son started in Jan this year and although he still cries every time we drop him (he only does 2 mornings a week), we know he has an excellent time when he is here and the level of care and learning is absolutely fantastic. He loves the garden and all the different activities and he is always laughing
and smiling when we pick him up.

The time my daughter has spent here has been really good and she really enjoys her time. The staff are lovely and very caring. There's a lot of space for her to play. She especially loves the garden. I think it's a great nursery and I'm glad my child is here for her development to begin.

I can't rate Woodstock Nursery enough! I have two boys that go there and nothing is too much! the best part for me is no matter the weather if the children want to go out on an adventure in the garden, they can! Also, best parents evenings ever!

My daughter loves coming to Woodstock Day Nursery. Over the past 3 years, she has grown in confidence and is always talking about what a great time she has had with her friends. The staff are all lovely and everybody knows all of the children, which gives the nursery a really homely feel.

Excellent nursery, my daughter has thrived here in all areas and absolutely adores coming in, we never have any resistance as she is always SO excited to come and see her friends and all the 'grown-ups'! Staff are amazing - nurturing, communicative and approachable. Nursery is always filled with a lovely
warm busy and 'safe' atmosphere, and the children are cared for to the highest of standards. We love it here!

My daughter has attended Woodstock Day Nursery for over 2 years now, since my family moved to the Worthing area. The staff there are exceptional, always there to welcome my daughter and with a smile and the whole place has such a family feel. There is the opportunity for studio dance, beach school,
old peoples home, so many opportunities to prepare my daughter for school, which she starts this year. She is very excited and ready to take this next step in her life and I know both she and I will miss everyone in Woodstock immensely.

Anne Shrieves

Job Title: Owner/Director, Early Years Teacher Joined: 2000

After a career in the NHS and having my own children, I opened my first Day Nursery in 1996 for 24 children. The business grew to 3 Day Nurseries, 3 Out of school clubs and a Pre-school until in 2006 everything was sold except for Woodstock Day Nursery and I am now able to enjoy working alongside the staff team and the children on a daily basis – semi-retirement and loving it!


During this time I have qualified as a Nursery Nurse (0 to 5 years) and a Play Leader (5 to 14 years), has completed a BA in Early Years and am now a qualified Early Years Teacher (EYT).


On a personal note, I have 3 sons and two step-sons who are now all over 18 years of age plus 5 grandchildren... So far.

I have been working in child care since 2000. I have a BA(Hons) in Childhood studies which I completed at University College Chichester in 2002. In 2008 I returned to University this time in Brighton to complete my Early Years Profession status.


In my spare time, I enjoy classic cars and spend the summer months taking my classic car to various shows. I also enjoy cross stitch and sewing and will often make things for family and friends.

I have been at Woodstock since 2013 and continue to enjoy the fun and sometimes challenge of each day with our children. I gained my EYT status in 2022 along with also being promoted to Manager.


I have 2 lovely daughters and like to spend time with them when I am not at work.
