Windmill have been a brilliant nursery for my son who joined in February. He is so confident, kind and really enjoys tidying up now! He has really blossomed in their giraffe room and often comes home singing the songs they learn and role playing being his favourite key worker. It's clear to see how
much he loves it at Windmill. I love that you collect your child from in the room which means you often get a sneak peak of them playing which it's just so gorgeous. He has made lots of friends and is able to tell me their names. He also told me he was the "special helper" and he got to make tea for his friends. We have younger twin boys who will certainly be going to windmill for their pre school too! I also like the fun days they put on, especially the Father's Day stay and play which I know was enjoyed by his dad and my son.

The staff at this nursery are absolutely fantastic and my daughter has such a great bond with her key worker and it's so lovely to see. They have a fab garden that the children get to enjoy everyday and they are always enjoying lots of messy play and doing things in the community.

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful experience my two year old daughter has had in Windmill Nursery. It has been truly amazing to witness her grow and progress so much during this time. Our daughter has not only developed new skills but has also blossomed in
confidence and creativity. The nurturing environment and engaging activities have sparked a genuine love for learning in her. A special thank you to all the teachers for their dedication, patience, and passion. Your efforts have made a significant impact on our child's early development, and we are so grateful for the care and attention you provide every day.

Thank you once again for fostering such a positive and enriching experience. We look forward to seeing more wonderful milestones as our daughter continues her journey in Windmill.

Windmill Day Nursery are absolutely fantastic! My daughter has loved every minute here. I wish we had discovered this nursery sooner. She's made so many friends and loves her teachers. The teachers give me feedback everyday which I think is so important and reassuring, including sending you photos through
their app. They got to know my child's personality and created activities she would enjoy, which was exploring her creativity and artistic side. They even listened to her ideas to create her own activity for the other children, and they brought her ideas to life! They have a beautiful, garden space which my child has loved playing and exploring in. Staff are incredibly helpful with any questions or concerns. Windmill nursery have done an amazing job in preparing my little one for primary school, she's confident, and very excited, which also takes my anxiety away! Very grateful towards the effort and love the staff put into the children at Windmill. I highly recommend!

My daughter has been attending Windmill Day Nursery since she was 9 months old, she is now 2.5 years old and she still loves going! The staff are all fantastic and make her time there so special. My daughter is thriving and learning so much, developing her personal and social skills. The staff are so
knowledgeable on child development and are there to answer any questions along the way. The nursery has such a homely feel to it and there is a great big garden which gets used daily by the children! I would highly recommend Windmill to anyone looking for a safe, fun and inclusive environment for their children!

Such a warm and friendly atmosphere every day my child goes to Nursery.
If I could afford to put him on for more hours, I would, as he loves it there and I feel 100% comfortable leaving him with all of the staff there.

My son started Windmill Day Nursery January this year. I was so nervous about him starting nursery, after previously working in a different nursery and having a bad experience there with staff. All of the staff at windmill made me feel at ease, and excited for the new journey. My son struggled to settle,
as he was very attached to me. The staff would always reassure me, and send me updates through the day to let me know he was absolutely fine!

Since joining windmill, he has thrived! His talking has come on so well, he's so confident and outgoing.
The activities he takes part in day to day are lovely, and he absolutely loves messy play - which they do a lot of at Windmill. I'd like to give a special mention to several members of staff for making his settling journey so smooth, and management. After a few months, my son now constantly talks about going to nursery and is excited to see all of his teachers and friends, the bonds he has made are amazing. Thank you everyone.

My son started nursery late due to the pandemic. He learnt to walk and talk in lockdown but was behind in speech. Since starting Windmill Nursery he has blossomed and as an only child has grown so much to be with other children and share and learn from them. He has been very happy...excited even to
go to this nursery every time. The communication to parents is so easy and close that you feel like you are talking to friends. Could not recommend this nursery enough.

My child absolutely loves the nursery setting. They cannot wait each morning to go and play with their friends. I believe this is the most important testament to a nursery setting.
The staff are lovely and friendly. My child loves having fun with them every day.
My child's language has improved,
they have learned to count and recognise letters and can write their own name and type the names of their friends.
We found Windmill after moving to the area in 2020 and will be sad to say goodbye this year when we move to school.

Both my children have attended Windmill, the younger is still currently, and they have loved the staff and the atmosphere. The home from home feel and freedom to access the garden which has been recently redone is wonderful. Very happy and tired children at the end of every day.
And the option for
early drop off is so helpful to get ourselves to work smoothly.

My daughter has been going to Windmill Day Nursery for nearly 3 years and they really have gone above and beyond to accommodate us.
They provide a great developmental environment for children with a varied array of learning throughout each day.
I am happy with the care that my daughter has received
not only in the baby room but also downstairs with the older children.
We are due another child in July and they will also be going to Windmill Day Nursery.
I highly recommend the nursery to anyone who maybe interested.

I cannot fault the care and attention the staff give to my son. Outdoor play is really important to us and the nursery ensure plenty of time is spent outside, especially the older ones. I love the homely setting and the freedom the children have to explore, play and grow.

Very impressed with the staff who show a genuine care for the children. My children have always been happy here . Only criticism is the drop off point, - it's always a bit crowded and chaotic and no chairs to sit and get your child's shoes off/on etc. always feels a bit rushed.

Our youngest child has just left Windmill Day Nursery after 11 years of us having 1 or more children at the nursery. All of our children have been wonderfully cared for at the nursery. They've all got very different personalities and have different needs but each one of them thrived within Windmill
Day Nursery.
The nursery has a fantastic homely feel and the staff have always cared about families as a whole and not just the children who attend.
We've been very lucky to have had such a wonderful nursery to help us care for our children x

I would highly recommend Windmill nursery. It is a welcoming and well-managed nursery, and I have found that my child has greatly enjoyed and benefited from his time at the nursery. The activities are varied and immensely engaging, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were very worried when we
initially left our son in Windmill's care as he was only 9 months old but we need not have! He was well looked after, and we had daily updates of how his day had been, along with constant contact throughout the day if we felt at all worried or wanted to check he was ok. The staff were very patient and understanding with us, as new parents, and helped alleviate any concerns we might have had. Windmill has been a great nursery choice and we are very pleased with how they have looked after our precious child.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.684)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.684) out of 10 for Windmill Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.935 for Windmill Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.935
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.749 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Windmill Day Nursery is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 number of registered child places is 10.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.6 = 0.849
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
