Bear's House Nursery provides a safe and caring environment just like home. The nursery offers each child the very best opportunities for learning and development and works in partnership with parents, valuing their thoughts and input.

Situated in Holmesdale Gardens, Bear's House is very convenient for Hastings town centre, Sussex Coast College, and Hastings railway station. The nursery has off-road parking for morning drop-offs and evening pick-ups.

Staff are ready to look after children from the age of three months to eight years with the holiday club. The nursery offers a ten per cent discount for siblings, and children attending a full week.

Bear's House offers universal Early Years Educational Entitlement (EYEE) for all children from the start of the school term following their third birthday and extended EYEE for eligible children, from the start of the school term following their 9-month birthday.

Fantastic graduation ceremony. Huge amount of effort put in by all the staff involved. Was very happy to see such a varied selection of food available for everyone. Really did make it such a special day. The staff put a lot of thought into the day, especially the decorations and party games they put
on for the children. Cannot speak highly enough of the team.

My little girl has been attending Bear's House since she was 8 months old and she has loved it since day one.
She has grown into a very independent little girl and loves to learn.
The nursery provides a variety of fun activities and lots of parent days for us to attend.
I will be sad to see her leave
next year for school.

Bears House is an outstanding nursery. Both my girls went to this nursery and enjoyed the time here very much. The whole team were polite and easy to talk to and we're always ready to help if needed. The nursery was also great for promoting their independence. The management at Bears is fantastic and

Fantastic nursery and the staff are brilliant. I feel my child is very safe here. The nursery feels very homely and comfortable. My child has gained so much more confidence since attending. I'm constantly updated with his progress. The nursery do loads of arts and crafts, messy play, sensory play, and
have a great garden with a mud kitchen.

Both my children have attended this Playschool and absolutely love it as do I. The staff are so friendly and become part of your family. I’m saddened that my son has now left to go primary school, if I could have kept him there, I would have. Big thank you to all the amazing staff for all the support

Like many parents, I was nervous about sending my only child to nursery. But I was very impressed by Bear's House's professionalism and caring attitude. They were absolutely fantastic with my daughter and other kids as well. I have no regrets sending her to Bear's House and am more than happy to recommend

I have been sending my children to this nursery over the past 8 years and I have never had any issues with anything. When I was going through hard times all the staff helped and supported me, and more importantly, my children. All staff show such love for the children, this is so comforting to me. I

My children came here after a bad experience at another nursery. Within a very short space of time they both felt safe and happy. Staff truly love their jobs and the children, and as a parent I feel extremely comfortable leaving my children in their care.

We have a one year old and three year old who have been attending the nursery for the last six months. Both are very happy, the keyworkers seem genuinely interested in the children and as excited as we are when they see development. As a parent, I feel it is professionally run and the children's interests
are put ahead of profits. Would recommend to anyone.

I absolutely loved Bear's House Nursery, Hastings and do believe I miss them more than my little one does as we have moved overseas. I only wish we had found them earlier as my daughter had to start nursery quite early. We needed to change nurseries after a long holiday and from the moment I walked
into Bears house, I was sold. We turned up towards the end of the day and the 'Honey Bears' room looked surprisingly clean. This is a winner if you are looking for a nursery for a baby and concerned about hygiene. The staff are absolutely brilliant, always smiling and ever ready to answer an anxious mom's questions. They keep us updated on her activities and progress. There are enough activities/facilities that keep the kids entertained. There's a lot of outside play too. I was really happy with the care and support my little one received while here. Highly recommended!

Bear's House Nursery has been brilliant with my daughter for the past three years. Every day they are doing new and fun things and making learning fun. The opening times are really handy and the nursery is really flexible. The staff are brilliant with feedback regarding which activities the children
have done and how well they have eaten. They also keep parents updated on Tapestry with pictures and descriptions of what the children have been doing.

I have worked at Bears House for 11 years. I completed my college placement within the setting, joined as bank staff and have progressed to nursery Manager within this time.


I was always passionate about childcare and knew from a very young age I wanted to follow this career path.


I love watching children grow and observing their development thrive. I believe the Early Years are the most important time of a child's education. I have an extremely confident and amazing team that provides a warm, welcoming environment sharing their knowledge and passion each and every day.

I was a room lead in our Baby room, then promoted in December 2021 to Deputy Manager. I have worked in the childcare sector since 2009. Working with children is something I knew I wanted to do since I was little. Watching the children grow and have a positive impact on their life is something that continues to make me thrive at my job. My little girl has been at Bears House since she was 8 months old, she surprises me every day with things she has learnt whilst being at nursery. She thoroughly enjoys coming to the nursery and has built good relationships with everyone in the setting.

I am very lucky to be able to have my 10-month-old son here with me also, allowing me to watch him thrive alongside his peers.

I have been at Bears House for 12 years. I first started as Maternity Cover which lead me to progress to a full-time job. During this time I gained a level 3 in my early years. I received a promotion to Preschool room lead.

It's wonderful watching children develop and learn new skills. I love seeing children get creative and use their own ideas and imagination to create their own masterpieces.

I believe that children learn most effectively when they are actively involved in what they are doing.

I have been working at Bears House Nursery since October 2021. I received my qualification in childcare in 2019 through an apprenticeship I started in 2018. Though I did not originally plan for a career in childcare, I have found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences possible.


I love helping children develop the foundations of happy, curious and inquisitive minds, eager to learn and explore the wider world around them as they continue their journey onwards, beyond their early years of education.


In my spare time, I enjoy watching films, listening to music, collecting records and writing my own novel.

After college and university, I did work experience with a variety of ages of children whilst working full time. I decided I wanted a change from retail so applied for an apprenticeship in Brighton. I worked there for 2 years in the baby room and Toddlers before moving to Bears House. This role is very rewarding and I laugh every day with the children.


Outside of work I enjoy playing the guitar and piano as well as learning languages. I am conversational in Spanish and also learning French and Russian.
