Manor House Nursery is located in a purpose-built area within the grounds of the private, independent girls' school, Manor House School in Bookham.

The nursery school is open to boys and girls. There are two Nursery class rooms; a Nursery room and Kindergarten room, both of which are connected to an all-weather enclosed playground and adjacent to an Orchard Garden. This contains a much loved pirate ship and lots of climbing apparatus! Children benefit from Forest School, held in the beautiful grounds in the outdoor classroom, The Dell as well as lessons from specialist subject teachers in French, Music, Physical Education, Drama and Dance.

Nursery children are fortunate enough to be part of a vibrant and challenging whole school community where great emphasis is placed on outdoor learning.

Staff take a highly structured approach to each and every child so that they are able to progress, achieve and participate, using the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework with elements of Montessori practice.

The nursery offers extended holiday provision to families.

Why not go and see the Nursery School so that you can experience for yourself all that it has to offer?

Our daughter always has such a lovely time at kindergarten at Manor House Nursery.
She enjoys so many of the activities, with such a lovely team of teachers.
It is a wonderful caring environment with a real home from home feel.
We couldn’t be happier with what she has achieved so far.

Our 3 daughters have attended Manor House Nursery.
It is friendly and welcoming and has given the very best start to our children's education over the past 8 years. The Nursery is a safe, nurturing, fun, loving environment, with a varied and stimulating timetable with expert teaching in an array of
subjects that the children can't get enough of!
Close bonds are maintained with teachers, creating friendships and caring for each other is top of the agenda. Children are supported and encouraged to be independent including personal hygiene, they have so much fun lunching together and are able to try something new, so great for fussy eaters!
Parental support and guidance have lightened the load of parenting and we can not thank the Nursery team enough! We are amazed by how much little people learn and love the exciting atmosphere, the children are very well prepared for the next chapter in their education.

My son took a while to settle in before his brother was born but all the staff were fantastic and so reassuring that he would be Ok. They were right he now can't wait to get to nursery and has such a great time there. He is learning so much including French at the age of 3, yoga class once a week and
Forest school which he absolutely loves!

My son started Manor House Nursery for three days a week from the age of 29 months. The caring staff helped him to settle in very quickly. He is very happy there and the simulating and varied curriculum has helped him to thrive. His vocabulary has developed rapidly and the themed learning approach means
that he has an impressive understanding of subjects like space and shapes. He thoroughly enjoys the timetable and gets the opportunity to be taught by very experienced nursery teachers and a range of other specialist teachers in PE, music, performing arts and cooking. Everyday I pick him up and he has something exciting to show or tell me. Every morning he is happy to go, and even in the holidays, he says he wants to go to nursery.

Our daughter loves going to nursery. The staff are so warm and welcoming and when she was struggling to settle at first they were so patient and understanding.
The daily routine and lessons are fantastic and give a wide variety of activities throughout the day. I would wholeheartedly recommend Manor
House as the perfect start in life and education. We can't thank them enough for encouraging our daughters new found confidence.

Manor House Nursery is a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment made even more incredible by the manager and the other staff who work so hard to make the children's first years memorable, fulfilling and above all fun! The children thrive educationally, socially and start to become confident little
people! Thank you, Manor House Nursery.

This is such a great place - friendly, caring, supportive, and well resourced. I have a daughter who will be moving on to school in September. She's having such a good time here. Her interests are catered for, she is encouraged to try her hand at everything on offer. There is a nice balance between
indoor and outdoor activity. The extended provision is excellent for when I need to work a longer day, too. Highly recommend.

I moved my daughter from one of top nurseries in the area to Manor House as felt the previous nursery was getting very crowded - she was in Manor House nursery for a year and it was just wonderful. She was very very very happy and it was a great preparation for reception. So many benefits to it being
part of a bigger school - they have now extended the offering to boys and extended hours for working parents - it's a no brainier if you are in the area and looking for a nursery. Couldn't recommend it more :-)

Our 2 1/2 year old started this term and has had a brilliant experience. She has never been apart from me but after just a few sessions settle quickly and have made friends. She trusts and likes the staff. Today she is even on a school outing. So happy our daughter goes here. We love it. Staff make
children feel special and really cared for. What more could a parent ask for?

My youngest daughter joined the Nursery in September 2015 and her confidence and independence has grown steadily with each week. All the staff are enthusiastic and caring from the main Nursery staff to the music and drama teachers that come in weekly. It is always a warm and welcoming environment for
the children and parents and my daughter loves it.
The children are treated as individuals and I can see that each of my daughters needs are met.

The teaching is gently introduced through play and if they show more of an interest this is readily supported and encouraged. With an all weather outdoor play area, walks in the grounds and large classrooms we could not be happier. I also feel happy to know that with another year in Nursery she will be fully prepared for Reception in Sept 2017; knowing her phonics and will have the social skills to work and play with others.

My daughter (2 and a half years old) started at Manor House Nursery one month ago. We visited a number of nurseries in a 15 mile radius and this was by far the friendliest, warmest, and one with the best facilities (the benefits of being attached to a school with expansive grounds). The girls are given
many exciting and creative tasks (she comes back with paintings, collages, homemade necklaces, cooking, etc on a daily basis). I have no doubt that it is a very enriching and stimulating environment for her. The nursery staff are very approachable and caring, and my daughter is already very fond of them. The school have also been very accommodating and flexible in helping us find a schedule that works.

Lovely environment, smaller groups so good, one to one learning. Mix with older girls on some lessons/activities so helps with development and encourages girls to challenge themselves. Enjoying seeing and hearing the development progress my daughter is making. Also great flexibility in swapping days
adding sessions where possible. Lovely outdoor play area/grounds for exploring.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.583)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.583) out of 10 for Manor House Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Manor House Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 34 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.583 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manor House Nursery is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 number of registered child places is 9. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.333
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
