Little Acorns is a purpose-built, homely day nursery that works in close conjunction with Silverwood's Forest school. It is safely tucked away within the grounds of St Andrews school, giving that extra peace of mind when considering the safety and local environment surrounding the setting.

The official opening hours are 8 am-6 pm but many of the staff offer a privately arranged 'early drop' service from 7:30 am. So if you have a train to run for, they can help. Many of the staff also babysit so could be there to help out around the nursery hours, (this is a private arrangement between yourself and the staff).

They have 4 age groups and believe the differences between these age groups really matters. After all, there is a huge difference between a 6-month-old and a 2-year-old! That being said, they place children into the rooms based on each child's own personal development and stage, not just their age.

The Baby room starts at 3 months and goes up to 18 months.
The Tinies room starts at 18 months and goes up to 26 months.
The Toddler room starts at 26 months and goes up to 38 months.
The Pre-School starts at 38 months and finishes when your child leaves happy, confident and ready for school.

The staff at Little Acorns consider themselves so lucky to have a lot of wonderful outside space, with a dedicated garden for the Babies, a dedicated garden for the Tinies and a shared garden for the Toddlers and Pre-School. This allows the children to explore and play safely and also for the older children to be as boisterous as they need to be, with plenty of space and without the worry of the tiny ones getting hurt. They also have an area at the front of the nursery where Forest school sessions are held.

Staff like to keep all the children happy, learning and busy and have lots of wonderful activities day to day, but also enjoy some special extras such as Hart Beeps, Giggles & Wrinkles, pets & ponies.

  • Being in the school grounds means it's easy to stop and drop off and that you'll normally be fine to park directly outside the nursery itself. Other than busy school drop off and collection times when you'll need to use the car park slightly to the right of the nursery instead.

Our experience at Little Acorns has been exemplary. We have two children who have received the utmost care, attention and consideration throughout their time there. The staff are all invested in the wellbeing and happiness pf the kids and do their utmost to support them in feeling secure and confident.
The nursery itself is well resourced; tidy and a welcoming environment for both kids and parents alike it feels like a little community that uploads childhood development, care and wellbeing at its heart! We could not be happier sending our little souls to Little Acorns.

We love Little Acorns, our son is 10 months old and has been attending for 2 months so far. The staff are warm and caring. They clearly care for my children a great deal. Communication is between home and nursery is brilliant - we have frequent updates and photos. The babies are always busy with activities,
and have outings and music workshops. We are delighted we found this nursery and are grateful to everyone at Little Acorns for creating such a loving place for our child. Could not recommend it more.

Both our children have gone to Little Acorns and loved it. The staff are friendly and attentive and great at keeping in contact with parents- lots of photos and updates on the app and thorough handovers. Emily manages the nursery really well and plans great events for children and parents. Always great
to find a nursery where you feel really happy dropping them off every day knowing they'll be looked after and entertained- I'd throughly recommend!

Little Acorns is such a lovely nursery. My little boy has been going for almost 3 years and has always got on extremely well. They have good facilities and host a variety of activities and outings, also forest school. All the staff are lovely and welcoming and have a great relationship with the children.

Our 2 children are very happy at this small and friendly nursery. Being independent means they can be responsive to each child's needs and take advantage of local opportunities - like a visit from the local firemen. All of the staff are caring and friendly and both of our children have built special

Little Acorns is a fabulous nursery. My little boy has been going to Little Acorns since he was 8 months old and he loves it. The staff are all kind and caring and fun and the outside space available for the little ones is just is just amazing. We also feel he is learning so much there. The nursery

We absolutely adore the Little Acorns Day Nursery and staff. I feel my daughter receives the best care and attention and is developing at the best rate she can thanks to them. The activities are varied and the food is very much enjoyed by her. Any concerns are quickly raised back to parents for attention
and it's wonderful to see the love and care she gets from her key worker. Its very much her second home and family and we couldn't be happier. There will be sadness all round when she grows up and grows out of the Little Acorns bubble.

Little Acorns is a wonderful independent nursery near the centre of Cobham. Our eldest has attended 4 days a week for the last 3-5 years and we've been so pleased with our experience. The staff are very nurturing and kind. They put a huge amount of effort into thinking of creative things for the children
to do and create. I also really like that they go on walks into town and to the ducks, as well as visits to the local care homes and visits from farm animals. The regular forest school sessions are also a big hit. Highly recommend.

Staff have always shown a genuine interest and happiness to greet and care for my children, leaving me feeling comfortable all day that they are feeling loved and looked after. Both management and nursery staff are frequently arranging excursions such as walks to see the ducks, park visits and themed
activities along with fun, educational visitors to the nursery such as animals or fire engines. Overall we have been thrilled with our choice to send both our children to Little Acorns, we are met every day with the most positive, happy and personable welcome at the door, and it is very clear that all staff know each and every child individually. The nursery also make the effort to organise special events to include the parents for example summer fun days, Father and Mother's day events and this year a fantastic nativity including all of the children. I would highly recommend this nursery mainly for the caring ethos and genuine family environment they have cultivated.

We have had a really positive experience at Little Acorns since our little boy started there last year. The staff are incredibly friendly and warm, they always make a fuss of our son when he arrives each day which is lovely. Communication from management is very good and any questions get answered immediately.
They have genuine care and interest in the children. We feel it's a great place for our little boy to learn and become more independent whilst getting the care and attention he needs.

Our daughter started at Little Acorns last month and we are so pleased we made the decision to send her to this fantastic nursery. The team are incredibly kind and knowledgeable about early years and really made my daughter feel safe and secure from day 1. They run a comprehensive settling in programme
so the transition is gradual and little ones can get used to their new environment. The team also regularly keep you updated via the Famly app and are just so kind and caring with lots of cuddles and activities. Super impressed so far.

Little Acorns is a fantastic nursery. From being welcomed into the baby room to developing all the way up to pre-school, every room is full of loving and caring staff and appropriate developmental equipment and learning opportunities. And they go the extra mile by organising forest school, animal visits
from zoos, growing fruits and vegetables, class pets, bouncy castle on special occasions, the annual family picnic, the list goes on! Plus the extra added bonus is that it’s affordable. We have always felt we get a lot for our money at Little Acorns. The staff are brilliant and form great relationships with the children and the parents. It’s a really special place.

I could not be happier with the way in which Little Acorns have supported and nourished my children over recent years, from baby rooms to toddler and then pre-school. Their caring, loving and homely environment has helped my little ones to flourish in so many ways. They have wonderful activities which
are so varied and really engage the kids at every level. Of course, the real key is that the staff are wonderful and always so supportive to both children and parents through many up's and downs during those formative years. The nursery honestly feels more like a family than a business to me, and I had no hesitation about sending both my children there knowing how much they enjoy every day. We have two girls at Little Acorns, both started in the baby room and both love going. Our daughters come home happy and thoroughly worn out (important for a good nights sleep for us). The staff are all fantastic and always very caring and attentive. We get lots of updates and photos throughout the
day of how our daughters are doing which is really nice. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Little Acorns as I feel the staff really do care about the children like they were family.
