First Steps Nursery

We have both our boys at First Steps for 2.5 and 0.5 years and we are really happy with everything about them. There is a mix of very experienced staff that have been there a long time and some newer members and we feel that they all act in a very professional manner and are very warm and welcoming. We are pleased with the development we have seen with our boys and the activities they do and the updates we get. Thank you.

My little one started from Baby Room and she’s now at preschool. She loves the variety of activities - singing, drawing and painting, dancing dressing-up etc. All the teachers are amazing too. I’ll be sad when the time comes for her to move on, but I’m also confident she’ll be ready for big school by then.

My son has started nursery when he was 8 months and absolutely loved it from day 1. He absolutely adores his keyworker and made amazing progress. Staff fills in learning books regularly so I can check what he has been up to during the day. Good communication from staff, lots of different learning activities, varied menus...The nursery is spot on. Currently expecting baby number 2 and hoping he will be able to attend this nursery too!

My son is currently in the toddler room following on from the baby room. All the staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely seem to care about him, he loves his days there and has settled in very well. I'm extremely happy with First Steps and would highly recommend it.

My son started here almost a year ago and he is doing very well. As a first time parent, I was very anxious about sending him to nursery but I had nothing to worry about. The owner and manager helped to reassure me before he started and he has thrived since attending here. All of the staff are wonderful and I cannot fault any of them. He has a really good relationship with all and really likes his key person. My son is excited to get to nursery and enjoys it so much he doesn't want to leave sometimes. The nursery has adapted really well since Covid-19 and I feel that my son is in a safe environment.

In the last year and a half, this nursery definitely feels like a home away from home for my little one and I am impressed daily by all the things she learns and all the personalised support she gets. The staff are warm, welcoming, adaptable and clearly very experienced; and the environment provides my daughter with so many creative and engaging activities. I am extremely pleased with the service provided by the First Steps Nursery and would highly recommend them. At this nursery I feel my daughter is constantly learning in a fun environment, eats well, is supported, comforted and is safe… I simply couldn’t ask for more.

My son has attended First Steps Nursery since he was 10 months old and the team of qualified staff have supported and encouraged his development all the way through the various rooms ahead of him starting reception. The rooms are bright, spacious and full of resources. I am constantly impressed with the range of activities and topics they cover within the nursery. I would recommend this nursery to anyone and I’m so pleased with it my second son will be joining when I return to work.

First Steps is an amazing nursery. All three of my children have been there and they have bounced in every day with a smile on their face. They are amazing at supporting children learn to form friendships and get prepped for school and the staff are brilliant. I would 100% recommend this nursery and will be sad when my last children will leave, as I have absolute confidence that they are being well looked after and cared for!

Fantastic school with caring staff and happy children. My girls were always happy to go to school and loved the activities and outdoor play. My fussy eater started trying new food and this has been a huge step for her. I would recommend First Steps for their nurturing and professional staff who really care about the children they are teaching.

The staff are very knowledgeable and the manager is practical and hands-on, she gets to know the families and our values and works with us and her team to ensure these are met.

My son started as a new starter at First Steps during the Covid pandemic. He settled so well and this was all down to the wonderful teachers. They looked after him, made a fuss of him and created some normality for children in this odd time. It made my life so much easier as I was very happy leaving him there knowing he was well looked after. Could not recommend a better nursery and set of teachers.

My son has learnt and developed so much since joining and he’s made wonderful friends. I will be very sad when he has to leave before he starts school.

My daughter has been coming to this nursery for just under a year now. She absolutely loves it there. I am always delighted to see what she has made that day and also see her playing in the outside space. As a parent, it's always hard to give your child to someone else to look after but First Steps have made this so easy for me. The nursery is like another family. It's clean, she has a dedicated carer but has interactions with lots of the other staff, the food is nutritious and well thought out. My daughter has really developed whilst going to nursery and her confidence has built. I love that she is learning something new each week and the nursery will teach the children all current things that are happening in the diary such as Easter, Diwali, Mothers day, World book day etc. I love this nursery as is the perfect fit for us. The staff are friendly and keep you well informed of what your child has achieved that day. I would recommend to any other parents looking for a good fit.

My son very much enjoys his time at the nursery. All the staff are great and have really looked after my son. They do lots of activities and engage with the children.

My child is in the nursery room. The staff are lovely and my child is very fond of them all. All the staff genuinely care about the children. My child is coming on leaps and bounds and I'm grateful to the staff in the nursery room for caring about and encouraging my child.

I have found First Steps Nursery to be very warm and friendly! The staff are brilliant with the children and my little girl, who has been here for around 3 months, quickly settled in. I can now leave her with no worries at all and she really enjoys the stimulation and interaction she’s gets with all the other children!

The nursery teachers are caring but firm and really understand each family situation and adapt to this as best they can.

I really like the team in First Steps Nursery. They are very friendly and I can see all of the ladies have good qualifications. My baby is always happy when I come to take him home. I was surprised that one of the team members wanted to learn and knows some words in my national language which is Polish - it so nice to hear it and I was so impressed.

We are delighted with First Steps nursery since our son started in April. He enjoys going every day and comes home full of tales of what he's been up to with new words and phrases every time!
