Castle Nursery - South Hill

Both my children have been at Castle from 3 months. All three staff are so caring and my kids love them. They are always excited to go to nursery and there is a wide range of activities, including Zumba and cooking. They organize special days for them like a visiting farm. As a parent the nursery is extremely pragmatic and understanding. I am extremely glad we have this amazing nursery on our doorstep.

Both my son and daughter developed extremely well in this setting and encouraged to find their own personalities and sense of self and were both so sad to leave. There's such a feeling of family and sense of community and each of the teachers and manager are well loved by both parents and children.

Our son just graduated from this nursery having been there for 3 years. Before that, we'd tried another local nursery and withdrew him because of concerns about his welfare. We've never had such concerns here. This nursery doesn't have a corporate business feel to it like a lot of the other local nurseries do. In my view, the nursery got even better when the manager joined a couple of years ago, as she is very organised, down-to-earth, straight-talking, confident, creative and popular with the children. In my view, her management style brings out the best in the staff also. At this nursery the attention to detail with planned activities is exceptional and each child is treated with respect and as an individual with their own personality. Each child is valued and is supported in reaching their own potential. At the same time, there's a strong sense of community at the nursery, so it has a good balance between these two aspects. The building is also lovely, a converted church.

We are absolutely delighted with our son's progress at Castle Nursery South Hill. The manager is kind, firm with the children and highly organised. The variety of activities available is perfect, we feel reassured that he is safe and fully engaged. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough of this nursery. The staff are amazing and my little boy has flourished. The children are involved in so many different activities. The staff are friendly and caring and always happy. I have never had any concerns about the care given and have always been confident that my son is being looked after both emotionally and physically. The nursery is organised and well run. My son is due to leave in September and I will be desperately sad to say goodbye to the staff who, after three years, are like extended family.

We have been attending Castle Nursery with our third child for the past year. Both our older children have also attended this nursery and it is without a doubt the best in Guildford. Everything about the nursery is fantastic but what really sets it apart, is the amazing staff who go above and beyond every day to make sure all the children are happy and feel special. We cannot recommend it enough.

I have been extremely happy with the care and support given to my son at Castle Nursery. The staff are second to none and I have no concerns in sending my other son to Castle.

This is a fantastic nursery. My sons are well looked after by the excellent staff and have come on leaps and bounds with their development.

Exceptional nursery. Caring, intelligent and professional staff. Castle Nursery, South Hill go above and beyond what you expect. Am always really impressed by the standard of everything delivered, the variety of activities and the staff. We never give a second thought when dropping our daughter off since she began at just under 1 year old. Developmentally, Castle Nursery, South Hill have achieved a lot, very quickly with our daughter and I don't think these capabilities would have been known without the Castle team, who go above and beyond.

My daughter has been at the nursery for over a year now. From the first day I was shown round and onwards, I have always been touched by the warm and friendly welcome that I get from all the staff at this nursery. The settling in process was sensitive and supportive to both myself and my daughter and in fact my daughter quickly found her feet and I never had any anxieties leaving her there. She is now in the next room and continues to thrive at this nursery with a great programme of activities, staff that care and regular access to outside, she is certainly exhausted when she gets home! I am delighted with this nursery and I am very sad that leaving the area will mean that, unfortunately, my daughter’s time there is coming to end sooner than I would have liked.

We have two sons that attend Castle Nursery, one in the Buttercups Room and one in Sunflowers. I would highly recommend Castle Nursery to anyone looking for a nursery in Guildford. The manager does a great job managing everything and all the staff are wonderful, many who have been there for several years. I feel confident and comfortable leaving my children with them and our boys love to go to nursery. In addition to the lovely rooms and the regular scheduled activities, our children really enjoy the additional activities that the nursery provides like Forest School, Theatrebugs and sports.

Our son and daughter both went through all three rooms at Castle Nursery- South Hill and we will all miss it hugely. We experienced a couple of other childcare settings but neither compared to Castle Nursery. Castle Nursery were great at meeting our part-time requirements and being flexible when possible. The staff are all brilliant, lovely, warm and welcoming people (to both children and adults) and we were very happy leaving our children with them. The location is perfect for town and a short downhill walk to the station in the morning but has plenty of stimulating outdoor space and near enough to lovely open spaces for the kids to visit. It is lovely seeing the baby bus around town! The atmosphere is relaxed but efficient.
