The Wolfson College Day Nursery is based within the College grounds in North Oxford and is available to all members of the community, including those not associated with the University. It aims to provide a safe and stimulating educational environment in which children can develop their knowledge and skills at their own pace. The setting aspires to produce happy, well-adjusted and confident children by working in close partnership with parents.
The nursery believes in creating a ‘home away from home’ for children and families. Staff believe that by providing children with an environment where they feel safe, secure and supported they will be confident enough to explore the world around them and learn naturally through this exploration.
They acknowledge the critical importance of children, parents and staff as partners in a learning community that promotes the wellbeing, education and development of all children.
They encourage family and parent participation and believe this is a key part of running a successful childcare programme. Play is an important part of a child’s development. Through play children learn about the world around them and it is, therefore, important to understand how valuable toys and play are in the development of the child.
The key-person system ensures consistency of care and a two-way partnership between parents and carer.
Oxfordshire provides a choice of nurseries, but few can offer an environment nestled between Summertown and the city centre, in the heart of a peaceful College environment.

I'm really happy with the nursery! All staff are professional and kind. They really take good care about my daughter. I love the trips they make with the kids and also the plays and activities. My daughter learns many things every day. When she went to the nursery for the first weeks she cried a lot because we have been moving from another country that she missed so much. But now she doesn't want to miss a day in the nursery! I'm so glad! Thanks for everything!

I have been most reassured at how accommodating all staff have been in helping my son settle at the nursery; they have been professional and courteous at all times, and have made great attempts to help him feel at home at Wolfston nursery. I am immensely impressed with the flexibility in the times I can bring and collect my son, this makes a huge difference to manage child care on a daily basis. It is also most reassuring that my son eats fresh produce that is cooked on the college site and enjoys wonderful walks on the college grounds. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Wolfson College Day Nursery. We are delighted to hear you are satisfied with the service we provide and look forward to continue caring for your wonderful child in 2019.
