18 months have flown by! It only feels like yesterday that little one joined us in Sunbeam's room. Thank you for sharing your varied reasons for choosing us and more importantly, acknowledging the staff and atmosphere throughout your time with us to date. Being given the time at the end of the day handover is such an important element after a busy working day; reassuring you that she has been excited, curious, and well cared for while in our care. I remember your little one joined us not long after we took ownership and so we have had the pleasure of watching her grow and progress through Sunbeam, Rainbow and now into Starlight room. Anxiety for families is so common when leaving little ones with others and allergies can take this to another level. I can picture the moments of this particular dancing (with the stomping and roaring in between) with adults singing and dancing along too! These little interests are so important and each of our team recognise the importance of knowing personal interests (and being unashamedly 'silly' at times) when being included in a child's play and excitement. We are always trying to plan for creative and fun experiences and in the nine months since your daughter joined us, she has always been eager to explore and experiment. With her transition from Rainbow room to Starlight room in the coming months, we know she will be absolutely engaged in the 'forest school' sessions that will be on rotation. Thank you for these wonderful words. Your thorough review really does cover so many elements of our provision and reassures us that we are able to provide high quality for our children and families. Our recent parent questionnaires helped us to reflect on some simple additions and this has clearly supported the sense of community we were hoping to develop further, particularly after COVID and necessary restrictions. The 'Stay & Play' and 'Stay & Make' sessions were so successful we decided to plan more as they really did lift the spirits of all involved. Having instant feedback from our families at the time and watching interactions between parents, children and practitioners consolidates our aim of developing the 'extended family' rather than 'just childcare'. We understand how the transition to school is a very different experience for each family and the idea to purchase an online session from an external provider is hopefully something we can repeat again in the future. Read less

We have loved having your daughter with us and know that she will embrace her full-time preschool nearer to your work place. Forest school is a fantastic addition here at Sparkling Minds and the 'all weather smiles' show how children can relax in nature and extend their skills, develop independence and be creative (without the need for toys or constant direction from supporting adults). Providing an enriching environment to improve language development is a focus for us. Having acknowledgement of introducing lots of new vocabulary is another positive for management and leadership in our reflections for the ongoing progress of the setting. We are so pleased that your eldest is confident and eager while also being emotionally ready for school. A large part of our curriculum is to develop curiosity, enthusiasm and resilience. This has definitely been the case as he will ask questions, persevere with 'tricky' experiences and has always 'bounced' through the door to share his learning between home and setting. Although we will miss his sense of fun, we are reassured that he is ready for the next big step! We are looking forward to hearing about 'exciting reception' when he comes to collect his sibling.
