Abingdon Kindergarten Ltd - Long Furlong has four main rooms, in a purpose-built two-storey building. Long Furlong is part of a small community surrounded by a primary school, park and recreational ground. This offers greater opportunity for all ages to enjoy social walks and visits to the stimulating surroundings.

The premises are maintained to the highest standards, well above those demanded to satisfy the child care registration bodies, Ofsted, environmental health and fire regulations.

The nursery is pleased to report that ongoing dedication to the provision of high-quality child care and career development for staff has been recognised by the local business community. The Abingdon Kindergarten Group was the first childcare provider in Oxfordshire to achieve the national award for Investors in People, and this is something they are proud to have continued.

Abingdon Kindergarten is now taking applications for the new 9-month-old, 2-year-old and three-year-old funded children. 15 and 30-hour places are also available.

We always get excellent and prompt feedback from the staff, when we pick up my daughter or through the communication app. Thanks to the patience from them, especially from her key person, my daughter adapted to nursery in a very short time, even if she only started at 9 months old. I heard that in the
very beginning, to let her nap as her routine, she was held in arms for 30 mins long. The communication app is efficiently updated so that we can see her daily life and pictures. We love to read the summary by the end of each day! This is an amazing experience, especially during the lockdown. We appreciate a lot, the care they give to my daughter and we enjoy checking her development observations documented in the app. The most important thing is that my daughter although cannot speak yet, shows that she cannot wait to go to nursery every morning as she always pulls her coat and smiles when I ask if she wants to play with her key person.

A lovely nursery with such caring staff. My girls love coming here! The forest school was a highlight for them and they always talk about how much fun they have had with the staff. I would recommend anyone to send their children here.

My daughter has been going to this nursery for 2-years, and she loves it. Ultimately this is what matters! From the perspective of a parent, we haven't faced any issues and are thoroughly happy with our choice (we had a choice of 3 when we were deciding where to send her). The staff are always friendly
- the nursery isn't huge, so there's a nice family feel. We love the app they use to share daily updates and pictures. There's been a recent change in management, which so far, is showing to be a really positive thing - for example, there's been a focus on revamping the interior and facilities and equipment and real energy and positivity in communications and activities the children have been doing. All in all, we would absolutely recommend the nursery.

Our 1-year-old son settled quickly and now loves it here. The staff are wonderfully caring and attentive and if we have anything to raise they are quick to respond. We love the updates we get every day on the app about the variety of activities he does. We feel he is well known as an individual and
that they make an effort to help him in the areas he needs to develop (e.g. movement). We are very happy to drop him off here each day knowing he will have fun and be well looked after.

Abingdon Kindergarten is a great nursery; it has a small family feel to it and the staff are enthusiastic and dedicated. My children go in excited every morning and come out with smiles on their faces every evening. The staff work hard to build close bonds with the children and are really able to ignite
a love of learning in the children especially in the pre-school room. Their excellent handling of changes in procedures due to COVID has not affected the children or impacted on their daily experiences and illustrates just how well the nursery is run and managed. I would highly recommend Abingdon Kindergarten.

Hi, my name is Kyle.


I have had a strong footing and a keen interest in the early years and child care for over twenty years. During this time I have developed a belief that children should have access to the outdoors as much as possible, this is where they flourish.


Following my own interests in the outdoors has led me towards forest school and more recently permaculture. Taking inspiration from these two areas and mixing them has led me in the past to creating outdoor curriculums that produced excited, emotionally intelligent learners that were ready to move onto school for the next stage in their learning journey.

My creative background has allowed me to look at problems I have faced with an open mind and look outside the box for the best possible solutions.

Hi my name is Jess. I have worked in childcare for 14 years and I have a huge passion for helping children learn. Seeing their happy little faces everyday brings me pure joy! Sensory play is one of my favourite things to plan for our children and finding new ways to develop and stimulate children's senses in their day to day learning is one of my talents. I love planning and organizing events with our parents and teaching children about different festivals, as well as creating an environment rich in culture through out the year.
